  • Congratulations on your purchase of the Peterson StroboStomp HD™. This video series corresponds with the printed manual found inside your product box.
    Getting Started / Basic Use
Your new StroboStomp HD pedal tuner can be powered by either a 9V battery or regulated 9V DC power supply. To change or access the battery, open the battery door on the bottom of the tuner and
carefully remove the battery clip. For best results always use a high quality Alkaline battery. Using a regulated 9VDC adapter connected to the StroboStomp HD’s DC Input jack, you can power additional pedals from its DC Output jack ( please observe the correct polarity and output capacity of your adapter).
WARNING: USING A WALL TRANSFORMER WITH THE INCORRECT POLARITY OR VOLTAGE MAY CAUSE PERMANENT
    DAMAGE TO THE TUNER!!
For normal operation, the tuner can be used out of the box; no special adjustment is needed. After installing the battery, simply activate the StroboStomp HD by inserting a guitar cable into the input jack of the tuner located on the right side. The output jack located on the left side of the tuner can be used to connect the tuner to the input of an amplifier or another effects pedal. Use the Stomp Foot-Switch to mute the instrument’s signal and proceed to tune. When finished, use the stomp switch to return to playing.
The note being tuned appears in the center part of the screen. The
strobe bands scroll counter-clockwise ( left ) if your instrument is flat of the displayed note and clockwise ( right ) if your instrument is sharp of the displayed note. When the image is stabilized or “caged”, your instrument is in tune to 0.1 cent accuracy (1/10th of one cent) of the displayed note.
When operating on battery power, a battery icon will show the battery level in the following scenarios:
    • During the first few seconds after powering on or entering the Tune Screen, regardless of battery level
    • When battery level is low
    • When viewing the settings screen, regardless of battery level

Please help me get back to this straight tuner! I touched a side button by mistake, and I don't have the strobe working any more and I followed instructions to reset, but that didn't work either.

A factory reset will reset all of your parameters to default, and return the tuner to the Tune Screen.
To quickly return the tuner to EQU without changing any other parameters:
Press the Menu Up or Down button until the three letter Sweetener value flashes
Press and hold the Menu UP and Value + Buttons simultaneously for three seconds
Releasing the buttons will return the Sweetener to EQU and your tuner will now act as a fully chromatic tuner.

Can I tune an acoustic instrument with this by adding a microphone?

      @PetersonTuners  3 місяці тому

Thank you for your question. Yes, a dynamic microphone with a 1/4" output will work with the StroboStomp HD. Depending on the output level of the microphone, you may need to engage the buffer on the pedal by selecting either Monitor Mode or Buffered Bypass.

Can you use a “Lithium” 9V with this unit?

Yes. There should be no difference in the operation using a lithium 9volt battery, as long as it is charged to 9volts.

What does the mute button do?

Genuine question. Can you toggle between hearing yourself tune and silence?

The mute button allows you to tune silently. When the StroboStomp HD is used in Buffered Bypass or True Bypass, unmuting the output turns the screen off. Using the StroboStomp HD in Monitor Mode, the screen will stay lit whether the output is muted or unmuted.

Muting is like turning off your guitar. Nobody can hear your guitar. In the mute mode, you can tune your guitar in silence by looking at the screen. Back in the old days like a 100 years ago, there was no mute button so when you tuned, everyone can hear it and it can be annoying.

As if the background music weren't bad enough when all you want to hear the voice of the instructor...they are showing you how to do 5 things at once and pressing buttons all over the place. It's maddening. This is the worst demo of anything I've ever seen and I'm not exaggerating. I bought one myself and I can't figure out how to use the thing! Something changed when I was trying to figure out how to use it and I cannot even figure out how to get it back to the factory settings.

Sorry to hear you are having an issue with your StroboStomp HD.
      To perform a factory reset:
      1) Press the Menu Up or Down button until the Gears Icon flashes
      2) Press the Plus or Minus button to enter the Settings Screen
      3) Press the Menu Up or Down button until the words Factory Reset flash on the display
      4) Press the Plus button to initiate the reset. A countdown timer will begin and the mute LED will flash. Pressing any of the buttons on either side of the tuner will cancel the reset.
When the timer finishes counting down, the tuner will reboot to the tune screen and all of the settings will be reset to factory defaults.
