I'm on medication for GastroParesis. I've been seeing doctors and they think I have Systemic Sclerosis. I've had an endoscopy and I have atrophic mucosa. The biopsy shows no Helicobacter so they think it's caused by autoimmune. I've been eating Keto and my digestion is much better. Your information is very helpful.

It’s also been my observation with my patients who’ve previously been on chemotherapy and have gut issues afterward (IBS-C/D, SIBO sx, gastroparesis, etc.), and I’ve thought that it was due to neuropathy, even though it typically is known to affect peripheral nerves. This was very interesting. Thanks!

Was diagnosed with IBS 20 yrs ago. All the doctors told me more fiber more fiber! It was the worst advice. I suffered for years unnecessarily because of that advice. It wasn't until I found keto for weight loss that i found relief from my IBS. Meat, dairy, and non starchy veg keep my symptoms rare and mild.

I had to go carnivore. I agree, everything my GI wrote me as a prescription, or told me to eat or take made me worse. It seemed that no matter how exacting I was he blamed me for not getting better. Carnivore healed me. I do not do well with fiber AT ALL.

Nerve conductivity seems to be crucial to proper digestion which means that any condition that causes nerve damage could be causing GI disorder, namely autoimmune disorders, advanced glycation endproducts and nutritional deficiencies. The enteric nervous system is like an autonomous second brain that communicates with the CNS over the gut-brain axis of the vagus nerve and other signaling hormones. It's interesting how the gut brain is already functioning when a baby is born, years before the brain and the intellect develops.

This makes sense with the fixation with lowering cholesterol which has a protective effect with the nerve linings. I'm not qualified for anything, but especially vagal problems might be related to the ridiculous amount of autoimmunity, and why animal based diets help so many conditions.

QQQ Dr Cywes. This mechanism of action for swallowing and digestion, today’s GLP-1’s slow down the gastric emptying like we have been inform. Does it also slow dow these other upstream and downstream mechanisms. And if so are they positive or negative. I can see the slowing of digestion being positive by allowing the body to have more time breaking down food with stomach acids. And slowing down the absorption of vital nutrients instead of the SAD and fiber pushing out nutrients before they are given a chance to be fully absorbed. Also by keeping food in the stomach longer, does this give the stomach acids more time to kill harmful bacteria and germs before it can be absorbed in the intestinal area or causing more harm. Great video by the way

I only have it once a week, I recently have lost weight and still optimizing my metabolism. I got my insulin down to 9-11. Still gonna wait till I get it down to 4-6 before I add the raw milk in on a maintenance phase. Unless Dr Cywes says it’s alright.

@@mattfisano that's awesome! Yes I will say that the raw milk has the potential to affect weight loss. I actually started using it because I was l likely not getting enough insulin and was having a hard time gaining weight, being too lean. I went from 185 down to 142 lbs, and now steady at 165 which is probably ideal for me.
I feel like it's helped my gut as well, but not certain.

What is your protocol for treating patients with extreme and debilitating stomach bloating?
Have you ever treated someone whose stomach bloating is so bad they develop new stretch marks near daily and their belly button looks rotten because it is black-and-blue from bloating?
What is the mechanism by which the gas gets into the stomach if it is not being produced by bacteria?
Why is a diminishment of bloating invariably followed by a day or two of extreme fatigue, brain fog, skin rashes, and anxiety, if this is not the result of bacterial die-off overwhelming the immune system?
Why do antibiotics provide relief, even if temporary, if there are no bacteria in the small intestine for them to kill?
How are hormonal and vagus nerve dysfunction mutually exclusive from bacterial overgrowth? Wouldn't hormonal and vagus nerve dysfunction actually cause or exacerbate fermentation by not clearing out the gut?
How can the breath tests reveal what kind of bacteria and archaea are in the small intestine if there are none in there?
I agree that there is a lot of hucksterism around SIBO, however that doesnt mean people aren't suffering from the condition. I personally have terrible SIBO and have never sought treatment beyond finding out what's wrong with me. A carnivore diet sans collagen keeps it in remission. Collagen brings my symptoms back worse than fiber and sugar.
If candida can grow out of control in the small intestine, if h. pylori can grow out of control in the small intestine, it makes sense that other types of bacteria and archaea can also grow out of control in the small intestine.
What you are saying here does not align with my experience as a long time SIBO sufferer and it does not make sense.

Our son was diagnosed with Asperger's a few years ago. We started working with a nutritionist that tested his gut, she found H Pylori among other issues (including iron anemia which can be caused by H Pylori, and subsequently leads to depression and anxiety, basically autism).. He was given Ranitidine (histamine-2 blocker, reduces acid) as a baby due to silent reflux and my working theory is that it weakened his acid production to such an extent that the H Pylori fortified itself in him.
The nutritionist put him on a schedule two weeks of each: Black cumin seed oil, Artemisinin and Pyloricil. She also had us remove Gluten, dairy, soy and pea protein from his diet immediately. This was designed specific for his conditions as he had other parasites as well and I'm so glad we didn't throw in anti-biotics, he is doing much better now (flourishing actually) but is still a work in progress after several years of gut inflammation. Dr Berg also has a video explaining how Zinc Carnosine can counter H Pylori that I watched today, I'm considering switching his Zinc Picolinate supplement to Zinc Carnosine - still researching. But, I'm not a doctor (or a Tennis coach in the words of Dr Cywes, lol). I'd recommend you see a professional that will not immediately go to antibiotics but help you look at your diet and gut and treat you. Or set up a consultation with Dr Cywes.

My understanding is that the live bacillus in fresh yogurt (best home made) will inhabit the stomach lining and displace or prevent H Pylori from establishing a pathogenic infection. Also, if you don’t have signs and symptoms such as stomach pain or bleeding, then why treat it? It’s probably being kept in check.

A few weeks into the carnivore diet and the body no longer wants massive amounts of food. Eating a small amount of fatty meat once a day is very satiating.
