I think we should get every vehicle possible, good or bad. There will always be someone who enjoys flying it and it helps fill out niches in the tech trees
No it doesn’t. All it does is lopside match making and ruin entire BRs with one airplane that people cant fly. Its like the old bomber problem when the US had a million prop bombers and Germany had none, so historical battles were just all german fighters vs US strike aircraft and bombers

@grapeflavoredantifreeze6975 yeah as if there's not already super imbalance in the format of whatever the meta vehicle is being the only thing people play. I'd rather lose and see a scattering of different vehicles than see the same 3 vehicles on both teams every game.
@@fate3071 You’re failing to see the point which is that time spent adding ridiculous and worthless planes could be spent fleshing out the matchmaker and actually contributing to the development of aircraft that are fun and engaging across all nations. Not to mention new gamemodes like the desperately needed RBEC, which would actually make aircraft like the Mig-25 somewhat useful.

- can’t break Mach 1 at sea level
- 4 missiles
- no gun
- less manoeuvrable than a Tornado
- ineffective and unreliable radar

it can probably be like Yak-28B, it can outspeed anyone and it can spawn out of nowhere to gun you/bomb you in af (or in this case missile) enemies
I think the MiG-25P or PD/PDS don't really fit the current game (AirRB), but this is not an excuse for them to not add it (come on, we have the Katyusha and the Sturmtiger in game...). But the MiG-25RB/RBS/RBK/RBT (bomber/reconnaissance variants) fits REALLY WELL the game. It would play similar to the Yak-28B (great bomb payload and extreme speed), but being the iconic FOXBAT!!1!1
I think we already should had these MiG-25RB variants in the TT by now (while the interceptor variants could potentially come as event/BP vehicles)
irrc, the 25RB is capable of hitting a target accurately enough while flying 2.35 mach at 20km altitude, using its bomb equipment and if the position is known. At this height and speed, the bombs alone would fly tens of kilometers making it an excellent bomb tosser, which could be fun in sim.
YaK-141 is another great example of a jet that doesn't fit the traditional meta, yet it actually performs quite well. There's no way to know how a vehicle will perform until it's added to the game, and to keep it from coming into the game just because it might not be very good is a bit silly if you ask me. Might as well add it and find out.

I do like the 25 but the flight performance is not it. Your going to essentially have to have the entire enemy team chasing you around the map and fuel loads in the current game wouldn’t really support that style of play. Also as an f14 mouth breathing skumbag that doesn’t use the phoenix missles cause I hate long range combat
The SK60b in the Swedish TT dosent fit, an yet its in the game, same goes for the Saab105G, screw that, the WHOLE Swedish nation dosent really belong, an yet its in the game.
The only post war aircraft Gaijin will add are multi-role aircraft because that's what the maps are able to support. It's why you haven't really seen any post war bombers being released. When they add objectives and map components that can fit larger combat roles we'll get those kinds of aircraft. Like desert storm like map with large scale airfields with mini objectives inside them. Stationary aircraft to destroy instead of just a runway or something like that.
Apparently the MiG-25 couldn’t go Mach-1 on the deck, and flying high is kind of a death trap at the moment with sparrows, ER’s and phoenixes flying all over the place. Plus it’s a brick
maps are too small in WT. radar guided missiles aren't the problem. If you are insanely fast and know from which direction missiles are coming it is easy to change course.

It really doesn’t fit in RB, in Sim I reckon it’d pretty good simply because you’d be able to use its strengths, some people seem to forget that the Foxbat is a brick of Nickel Steel with two cruise missile engines and huge wings that at low speeds can barely keep the plane in the air, it’s probably another one of these aircraft that’s hard to balance, put it too low and it outranges and outruns everything, put it too high and it isn’t going to be usable
I feel like it's going to be like the F-104, except for 3rd/4th gen aircraft this time around. Very good at running and being hard to kill without dedicating half a match to try to intercept it, but not doing anything impactful for the game itself unless it comes with some really good missiles, which with historical R-60Ms and R-40s with 8Gs of pull, I have my doubts.
I just looked it up, and with a TWR of 0.55 might even make boom and zooming basically unviable unless they just give it a broken flight model.
Accept it wouldn't be anything like the 104 in almost everyway.

the problem is that it wouldnt be able to get to speed in war thunder it has really bad acceleration because of its weight issues and its subsonic at sea level

They have to consolidate development trees before to add advanced aircraft, adding su-24 for example
Thats a wild statement by the mod; I personally love the look of the 25 and therefore it would be great to have it but is it really superior over way more modern fighters currently in the game like the Gripen, F16-MLU, Su27, Mig29?
I feel like it would be hard to balance, it's either really bad or really good.

I mean it would not be as good, it used the aim 47a missiles which is pretty much a worse performing phoenix, it would not be good at all and would only be able to do bvr since it can’t carry sidewinders, it would be a cool thing to see but at any br it would be bad and near horrible

Just a friendly reminder that MiG-25 that "would outperform F-15 and anything else in the game" is:
1. An absolute brick that weighs 35 tons (F-15 weighs 20 tons, F-16 weighs 9 tons)
2. A brick face that cannot fly supersonic near the ground (1200 km/h cruising at sea level)
3. Goes it's beloved Mach 2.8 only at an altitude of 20-22 kilometers
4. Has no countermeasures
5. Does not have a gun (built-in or gunpod)
6. Does not have all-aspect missiles
7. The radar does not have a "look-down-shoot-down" capabilities (it can't lock targets with ground clutter)
8. The only armament consists of R-40T and R-40R missiles on four hardpoints
9. Maximum overload of missiles varies from the source, but is said to be from 4G to 8G
R-40R is NOT an analogue for AIM-7M or newer, it is an analogue for AIM-7E-2 at best, even though the latter is two times lighter and has x1.5 times the range (50km vs 30km).
And only 14 years later, in 1978, they would introduce the upgraded MiG-25PD, which basically had:
1. New missiles in the form of R-60 (yes, yes, R-60, not R-60M, those came way later to the foxbat)
2. A new radar, finally with the "look-down-shoot-down" capability
3. New engines which could climb it to 20 kilometers in 7 minutes (ARB prop climbing all over again lmao)
4. The ability to carry external fuel tank
5. New RWR with an IR-missile launch detection
That's it.
Basically the only thing MiG-25 was good at is going straight, high and fast. And thanks to it's existence the legendary F-15 was born, which is every single way better than a foxbat.
So if the MiG-25P or even PD is ever going to be added - it would end up at 9.7 or even 9.3, sitting at the 20km+ with 0 kills.
People still believe in non-existing russian-bias in war thunder after seeing gaslit gaijin staff posting soviet propaganda on the forums. Nice.
This thing couldn't even hit mach 1 at sea level, not even mentioning the bad performance radar, having no canon and only being able to carry 4 missiles. It would be useless imo. Unless we get even bigger maps that allow time for aircraft like this to get very high alt and very high speed so it can use it's strengths, yeah it will be useless
They start adding supersonic bombers, if they change maps and gamemodes for toptier to make these jets playable maybe an interceptor like the MiG-25 would be good and usefull. Currently it would suck

No, you couldn't say that.
The F-14 can handle itself in both BVR and BFM while the MiG-25 makes the Tornado look like an I-16 under BFM conditions.
@@FallenPhoenix86 I have a mig 29... And I've been dominating the F14 and tornado in BVR and BFM... Even the f16 can handle both of them... So, idk why the mig 25 would suck if it would be added... They can give it the R 27ET and ER's and it would dominate from BVR like the MIG 29... I've killed so, many F14 from 63KM with the ER... It would dominate BVR.

The big 29 came and everyone was hitting the shots with the ER from miles away... So, I believe it would do good in BVR... And in BFM... It would do poorly, but with the R-73, it can get some close kills... But dogfight someone, no... The MIG 25 Is meant for speed just like the MIG 21 bis... It's an interceptor, not a dogfighter... Y'all would just use it as a fighter and of course, die and there ya go... You're going to say how bad it is.

What if they added the Su-27 Flanker instead? From what I have read and researched the Su-27 and the F-15 are quite similar. The only thing that could prove to be a problem is that the Su-27 was produced later in the mid 80s while the F-15 was produced in the early 70s.

No matter what, I just want a Mig 25 because I like variety in War Thunder. Soon its just gonna be f22s vs f35s of all nations.
The MiG-25 would be great if they made an interceptor game mode. I think this would benefit the game, as it would allow more specialized vehicles (such as the Foxbat) to have a place in the game, which it certainly deserves as an iconic vehicle.
there is one already the pve air assault mode and it would be better suited for that than pvp due to how small the maps are and how annoyingly short they are outside of sim
@@paktahn if so, then that should provide a good model for a rework. Aircraft such as the MiG-25 need a lot of space to accelerate.

Feel like with the F-111 coming Gaijin should have added the Su-24 as well. Pretty sure the Mig-25 will come with the F-15. Not sure if the Mig-25 would be fun to play though, it's just an interceptor like the F-104 but on steroids, though the Russians mostly used it to dump huge butt missiles from long range and also more importantly it was used to deliver tactical nukes. - a feature absolutely useless in warthunder.
I really don't want to see a BVR meta, it would be Mig-25 vs F-14 with Phoenixes.
If you want a fair BVR fight against the F-14 then forget about the MiG-25 and ask for a MiG-31. A single F-14 could have multiple MiG-25's for breakfast.

Its not because its too advanced it’s because of the speed will be ground breaking bot it won’t because cannot pull a lot of Gs the Mig 25 can pull like 4-6 Gs somewhat good missiles but i would not see it as a overpowered aircraft

Mig 25 would be an acceptable boom and zoomer, and a great bvr interceptor, but not bad and not great. The fact that the f16 and mig 29 are in the game and not the mig 25 is quite frankly ridiculous. It was one of the most produced Soviet aircraft of all time, and for a game that claims historical realism, it is a massive hole in the tech tree.
It’s way too situation IMO, and would probably be a bad addition due to its one dimensional gameplay. Even if it was added it would be really unfun to play. It would be like a top tier F104 but at a BR where radar missiles and the like would swat it out of the air quite easily.
It’s one of the fastest aircrafts ever made and it’s pretty cool engineering, but it wouldn’t be a very good aircraft for the gameplay of warthunder.

It's not a maneuverable fighter, neither of them are. Not to mention, MIG-25 can't really go supersonic at the sea level.

That's because they overestimated it a lot. They thought it was extremely manuverable with great radar, which it didn't have. SU27 fits these criteria and was counter for F15
The F-15 was made as a counter for the Mig-25, but at that time the Americans assumed that Mig-25 was a super maneuverable air dominance fighter and not a heavy interceptor, which is why the Su-27 is more comparable to the F-15.

That "pacifica" guy is delusional if he thinks that the Mig25 is that good. Yes, It was fast, specially at altittude, but It couldnt maneuver at all, making It an easy target for missiles, specially radar guided ones. Its supposed greatness was only backed up by soviet propaganda.
Another thing Id like to point out, is that if the Mig25 gets added, the F15 must be added aswell since It was its DIRECT counter. It was specifically designed to counter It. And even if the Mig25 has better missiles, the speed and flight performance on the F15 will do the work.

Se me lembro um documentário sobre a criação do F-15 foi quando a Russia anunciou o Mig-25, dizia que o Mig era super pesado tinha uma péssima manobrabilidade, se a gaijin for fiel a isso o caça pode ser rapido mas vai ser só isso ja que ele foi feito para interceptar.
Sem contar que o radar dele seria ruim por ser um radar dos anos 60 e tambem pelo fato de que o mig25 nao consegue nem chegar a mach 1 num voo ao nivel do mar devido ao seu peso-potência que era horrível, tem outras coisas como ele nao ter um canhão, so carregar 4 misseis, etc

What can Mig 25 do when even F14 is not used for its intended purpose in the game? The F14 still has a 20mm gun and a dogfight character when necessary, but it is a Mig 25 thoroughbred interceptor plane, its purpose is to hunt SR-71 spy planes flying over Soviet territory at high altitudes with hypersonic R-33 and R37 missiles, it does not even have a cannon armament and its maneuverability is at the quality of a flying brick.

Let's admit the obvious - Gaijin simply stuffed up on this one. The MiG-25 should have come out with the F-14A - same era, same mission profile, similar (if different type of) main armament. Sure it is hellaciously fast, but the F-14's radar was hellaciously capable for its era so they are both equivalent if not equal.
They don’t really have the same armament 4 8g missiles compared to 6 25 g missiles and 2 18g missiles as well as a gun, they aren’t at all equals the mig is a flying brick made of nickel the f-14 is way more manouver able then the mig, the mig is more comparable to a early phantom

Since when was this aircraft considered good, I don’t know what the person was thinking that it is a fantastic aircraft. The MiG 25 is just a f104, it’s fast and that’s it. If it try’s to dogfight it would get clowned on by even phantoms.
i dont understand why people have such a hard on for the mig 25 the only thing it has going for it is its radar and speed and irl the speed can destroy the engine its very heavy so much so that it can pull many gs without ripping its own wings its probably gonna be about like the f104 as far as its use you wont be able to dog fight with it at all the f15 will be very similar also because it is big heavy and not all that maneuverable they only way you will be able to use either one and survive is to stay at the outer edges of the map and fire from really long range till your missiles are gone then rearm and repeat it would probably be good in sim but in all other modes it wont be all that great imo the maps are just too small for it to be all that useful maybe if there were bigger maps with a permanent enduring confrontation game for all modes i doubt we will ever see it though as the retarded devs seem like they just want to force everyone outside of sim to play team death match with every plane including bombers with constant ticket bleed so matches are shorter that your average casual gamers attention span
The MiG-25 is no where near the F-15 in rating. The MiG-25 is a heavy unmanoeuvrable interceptor that can only really take on bombers.
We have the Lightning. It is a flying brick, build for bomber intercepting only. So your argument makes no sense.

With garbage radar it's BVR capabilities are fairly limited, even if it did have OKish missiles. Thinking it's somehow superior to F-15 ? I have a bridge to sell to you.

Maps are too small. No one fights at ultra-high altitude. Mig25 is effectively a brick and can not turn. Maps would need to be DCS size before mig25 can be discussed. That plane would be absolutely god awful at the altitude most warthunder players fight at. They can't even make the f111 have its top speed, so what use would the mig25 be

Imagine f104 fighting su25. F104 can't come close bc it'll get missiled and su25 can't catch the f104. This is what mig 25 would be. Imo gaijin should literally break the relative realism rule and just make this thing slower, turn better and whatever it takes to make it playable. Or simply don't add it at all. Mig29 is already in game, we don't need to retroactively add a worse plane because it existed. Nobody likes the mig 25, it's not iconic, and it's only claim to fame is that it looked so scary on spyplane photos that USA decided to create the best most advanced and most successful fighter aircraft in history bar none, the F-15. Oh and a russian pilot stole one mig 25 and flew it to the western powers to tell them how great life in communism is.
Literally that russian (soviet) pilot was the reason why the F-15 were born.. Also starfighter is a brick compared to the Su25 when it comes to dogfighting. Mig25 was made to shoot down U.S spyplanes. No point to add it. Also F15 didnt even fought a plane from its own generation. We all know how fast these western vehicles fails when it meets an equal. A.k.a challenger 2
The MiG-25 could be added no problem. It’s fairly similar to the Tomcat as far as use case. Sure the Tomcat will destroy the MiG-25 in a guns only fight, it would be cool to have some equivalent as far as a long range quarterback.
it's absolutely not similar to the Tomcat, the F-14 is still a decent dogfighter. It's more similar to the Tornado ADV, except your missiles have a bit more range but less pull, and the MiG-25 is even more of a brick (also can't go supersonic at low altitude)
The early mig-25's where awful, when the west got their hands on one, after the development of the f-15, they found multiple flaws, it's weight being one of them. They're okay bomber interceptors but didn't have the maneuverability to take dog fights. Also lacking in lookdown/shootdown it could only really fight jets at a lower altitude. If they add in the foxbat-A it wouldn't change all that much if anything. If they (for some reason) add in the Foxbat-M or the Foxbat-E then maybe the devs would have a better argument, but if they add that and really any 4th gen western jet it'd have some kind of parallel. Something like the strike eagle, but even then, the strike eagle would probably be the most broken aircraft in the game.

not even that really. The Foxbat is subsonic at the deck as it is way too heavy. The aircraft is slow at climbing compared to the F-15 and it takes AGES to accelerate up to it's possible max speed of mach 3. The Foxbat is just shit at everything compared to all of the top tiers we have already in the game.
@@televisio8652 I didn’t even think of how poor performing it was on actually getting to speed. It would almost only be viable in sim. Maybe an arcade monster but I don’t touch arcade for several reasons. Any comparison on radar or armament that the mod might’ve been talking about?
@@Owlberightback no the mig-25 doesn't even have a pulse doppler radar and the missiles are just slightly faster phionexs so the mod was talking complete shit and maybe this belief in USSR tech is why NATO radars are so shit compered to the USSR bc the ZUKE should not be that good at holding locks compered to the AN/APG-68.
The F16 was solely created to fight the mig25, but when they found out the capabilities of the mig25, they realized they over engineer the f16.

If they add the mig-25 it needs to have a random chance to blow an engine during a match since their engines had a service life of like 75 hours.
