I don't know what is most memorable about this video: - How long it is - How unbelievably horrible this mini is - How unbelievably amazing this mini looks - How unbelievably steady your hands are
53 minutes full of entertainment and in the end you learned a lot and can come back whenever you need it. Awesome! The Glow makes it for me. Well done 👍
This is a spectacular work as always. However, that one small detail of adding capillaries to the skin impressed me the most. It made the figure even more gruesome and "real". I really appreciate the attention to detail that you demonstrate in every video. Can't wait for the next one.

I got myself some AVP predator mini's a few days ago, I'm really temped to paint them in the style of this birds wings. I've never seen a predator that goes from dark blue to light blue so I'm exited to try it out, thank you very much for the inspiration and I love this video!!

Ha ha yeh.. The problem is that there's no easy way to separate the process into separate "highlight" and "finishing touches" stages, so I just end up with one long stage of the two combined 😄

What a fantastic model! The long, human finger motif across the model where normal bird bits should be really makes it quite an unsettling reimagining of a classic monster.

When I see a piece like this I have to decide which route to go: realistic, fantasy, or just lean in to the horrific side. How you managed to not just do all 3 baffles me. Truly inspirational. First time I have seen one of your minis I wouldn't want (in a good way that thing gives me the heebie-jeebies. Something about those wing hands the little grasping hands, can't even.) Best art I have seen you do, thank you for sharing and inspiring (not to mention all you do for the community.)

The OSL off the lake, the general color integration and contrast (starting to understand a little more color theory) but your choices amaze me. The beak striations. The skin on the top of the head with all the veins and them looking layered through the skin instead of on top of it. I could go on, but just thank you!
As others have said, one of your best yet. It's also so well explained that it 'looks' easy and hopefully will give painters that little push to try it out.

it was the glowing water base and effect's that did it for me . it changed what would of been an absolutely outstanding piece to a masterpiece. Now just working on how I can work a glowing pool into 1 of my legion base's.

Yours seems more like an "actual" nightmare :) A dark dream world of sorts, like something from Neil Gaiman.

Thank you very much! I I do try to push myself with each mini I paint, and with this one I did have to battle a few personal daemons before summoning the confidence to impose my vision on the figure. I like to think that we all have some measure of "talent", and that with enough care and patience most people might suprise themselves by what they're capable of. 🙂

Astounding work as always! What I'm most awed about is your mastery of dilution and brush handling. I'm pretty curious about the brush you're using, and I'm also wondering about your dilution ratio. Any tips? I either paint with paste or with runny colored water. xD
Thank you very much! I use a Rosemary and Co Series 8 Size 2 brush (there's a link in the video description). Regarding dilution, I think it's something you develop a feel for through practice; just be sensitive to the behaviour and effect of the paint as you explore different levels of dilution, and adjust things as you see fit. 😀

I don't know to what extent the model sculpt (being awesome) takes part in the credit, but i think this is perhaps your finest work. A true masterpiece !!! Somehow you always seem to surprise me by constantly surpassing your previous top-notch work. I suppose its work-work-work and 5% talent. I would like to know what you think on that.
Thank you very much! I I do try to push myself with each mini I paint, and with this one I did have to battle a few personal daemons before summoning the confidence to impose my vision on the figure. I like to think that we all have some measure of "talent", and that with enough care and patience most people might suprise themselves by what they're capable of. 🙂

@@MrAbnrm I just have slightly low periods from time to time where I lose confidence in myself and become plagued with self doubt. It's something I've come to accept as a part of the process sometimes, and just have to work through it. 🙂

Astounding work as always! What I'm most awed about is your mastery of dilution and brush handling. I'm pretty curious about the brush you're using, and I'm also wondering about your dilution ratio.
Any tips? I either paint with paste or with runny colored water. xD
Thank you very much! I use a Rosemary and Co Series 8 Size 2 brush (there's a link in the video description). Regarding dilution, I think it's something you develop a feel for through practice; just be sensitive to the behaviour and effect of the paint as you explore different levels of dilution, and adjust things as you see fit. 😀
