Once, every 3 months, I search for "Painting Kindgom Death: Monster" and once in a while I am rewarded with another of your videos. Always glad to see another one of these from you!
The techniques you use and your explanation of use case for them has been so beneficial not only in my own KDM minis, but across every project I've worked on since finding you. You're my favorite painting channel, thank you for helping me in my journey to improve!
like always everything is perfect . the painting the musical ambiant the quality of filming the process and the off screen voice . you really are the king of this kind of videos .thanks to you.
Thank you Sorastro for your wonderful work. It helps me and many others to paint this great game. I think I speak for many when I say that your KD:M series is one of the best on your channel. Please don't make us wait too long for the next episode. You have my support on Patreon anyway. In case it hasn't been mentioned yet, I don't know any artist who pretty much answer all comments on all platforms. That shows how close you are to your community. BR, F.B.
That looks amazing as usual, Mark. The reflection on the lower right thing of the knee pad was genius! Just need to do it on the other thigh too ;) But serious, lovely work. Your NMM and OSL are both next level
YEAH!!! Finally more KDM!!! Thanks Mark!!! Top job like always!! And to be specific, the NMM instructions here were much clearer, less esoteric and seemingly more achievable. It's made me want to repaint my Gold Smoke Knight (and I hardly ever get back to models I've called "finished":) Stay safe man:)
An excellent example of NMM techniques across a variety of volumes. NMM is something I still struggle with to get it looking just right, and your work is very inspirational. Thank you for sharing! :D
I don't know if you've already assembled your last KDM miniature, but I'd love to see an instructional on that process. Clipping, gluing and filling joints. Thanks for sticking with this series for the last few years.
Thank you very much! I actually started The Watcher last year, but wasn't happy with my colour choices, so I need to revisit it. I will soon be covering some of the Gambler's Chest minis too.. 😀
Amazing!! An excellent job with a great visual impact!! I don't see myself qualified to replicate this tutorial.. hahaha.😅. I still love it... the lights, the NMM, the flames and the base are very beautiful 🤩❤️❤️❤️❤️
I was hoping that you would continue this series and I'm very grateful for it - I find it relaxing to watch and it has helped me with my painting immensely :) I noticed that you used a different blue to your Dark Sea Blue in other videos - I'm curious about how you select your pallete - is it just what you have on hand that works for each of the tones?
Thank you very much Patrick! Regarding the paints, I have lately fallen in love with the Scalecolor Artist's line, but you could use whatever paints you like ofc 🙂
Ooooh dang you went for red fire, I went for blue flame meself. Not as nice as your nmm but personally pretty satisfied with mine too. Great video as always
Your usual relaxing work in the How to Paint video. Note that at present the video description has the incorrect miniature named, reading the Hand instead of the Gold Smoke Knight, if you want to edit that.
Hi! I actually started filming a video for the Watcher a while back but wasn't happy with my colour choices, so I'll return to make some changes and share it when it's done.. 🙂
Hi! I actually started painting the Watcher last year but wasn't happy with how it was going. So I'll have to go back to it to make some changes I think.. 🙂
Looking fantastic!! Thanks so much for doing a KDM again :D hmmm.... I will have to push my contrast for the gold way more - even so I went for TMM, I noticed it's lacking compared to your NMM XD
Hey! Thank you so much for all your videos. I was wondering what sort of camera do you use for your painting tutorials? Thank you so much for all you do.
Hi Nick! I actually like to credit the camera that I'm using at the end of each video; at the moment I'm using the Sony A7 IV (and before that, the Panasonic Lumix GH5) 😀
@@Sorastro I thought you did. Curious, you make comments that you choose this brand because of matte finish, or you add varnish on the cloak to take the shine off after contrast paint. Why does it matter if you are going to varnish the figure in the end that will alter the finish anyway? Just trying to understand more of your process. Thank you!
Ah right - in this particular case I didn't use the ultra matte varnish for the whole mini as it can somewhat detract from the NMM effect, but I did use it for the base - especially the rim which is how I handle the figure when gaming. 🙂
Will you be making more KDM Painting guides given the new expansion Gambler's Chest just came out and it will lead to a renewed wave of relevance for KDM.I love your videos sir keep it up.
Thank you so much! Yes, I'm super excited for the GC stuff! I've started shooting the next video (for the Crimson Croc), and I've also published a PDF guide for one of the narrative sculpts: sorastro.com/2023/09/05/cockroach-queen-pdf-painting-guide/ 🙂
Thanks very much for the swift reply I've been following your KDM art for 5 years I really hope you do the Dragon King as it's a favourite sculpt of mine design wise pretty much ever.@@Sorastro Good luck with the GCE sir.
it's a very unique model I can fully understand the sense of trepidation in tackling it. also do you happen to own the Fade it's another model I'd love you to tackle as well. @@Sorastro
Your painting skills are amazing as always! Have you heard of the Board Game Heroscape? Its currently has a kick starter open its a war game that comes with un-painted miniatures I would love it if you painted some of them when they came out! Also if you could help promote this kick starter in any way me and the rest of the heroscape community would be grateful we aren't doing so great on backers.

I’ve been waiting so patiently for a new KD:M tutorial, and you have made my day. Thanks so much!

Wow, thank you so much Andrew! I really do appreciate that 🤗
Incredible! Your source lighting is always so good. Kingdom Death models are such a treat.
Thanks so much, Greg! 😀
I don't have time to paint for the moment but looking at this is in itself a very nice experience !
Thank you so much Tom! 😁
That miniature is awesome, literally sweats Souls vibes. What an awesome tutorial and paintjob aswell. Good job!

I started doing dark lining thanks to your videos and it makes a WORLD of difference.

As always, thank you for these guides and your thoroughness. Though I probably won’t drop into KD:M, I learned some great tips on flames, osl, NMM.
Thanks a lot! I'm glad you found it useful 😀
From the first fire i painted decades ago, to the fires i paint today after your tutorials, there's a massive Balrog difference!
Ha ha, awesome 😄
Can't wait to follow along on this one! You're KDM series is definitely my favorite, such a beautiful model! Thank you!!

Absolutely glorious
Thanks so much Bruce 😀
Me: How many paints do you need to do this NMM?
Sorastro: Yes.
Another triumph, Maestro. Your Kingdom Death tutorials are always another level.

I love the gold armor. Im curious if you'll do something similar with the mandalorian's chrome armor.
Thank you! I think I'll certainly go NMM for Mando.. 😀
Hope to see more KDM!
Thank you! There will be more.. 😀

Hi Mark, it is just stunning what you did here. I just startet NMN and I´m using your Captain America tutorial.
Thanks so much buddy! NMM technique is a very fun and rewarding pursuit for sure 😀

I haven't actually varnished the rest yet. I might just leave it because the Scalecolor Artist's paints are actually very durable anyway 🙂

Hi Erick! Sorry - my schedule is already packed as it is.. 😁
What!? You can fill in gaps with mod podge and matte varnish?
Totally! 😀
What did you use for the filling gap?
Hi there! I typically use Mod Podge for filling small gaps, but Milliput for larger gaps 🙂
Awesome job but my ocd got triggered by you forgetting the kneepad reflections on the left thigh.
