I´m looking forward to seeing more of them! Love the moody lighting in all of them, though I´d prefer the colours to be slightly less muted for the monsters.
Watching you paint really keeps me grounded. One doesn't need all the fancy new paints from a myriad of manufacturers. Just some excellent old Model Colors, a good brush and someone who understands how to use them. You most certainly do :)
i just keep coming to the kdm videos, they are amazing! it is going to be truly epic when sorastro gets his hands on the phoenix, such a daunting model
Amazing as always - I do not like NMM myself, but I admire the work and skill of those who can do it and I can certainly see how and why it works so well here. Again, fabulous all round Maestro, these videos are not watched - they are experienced! :)
Man it's good to know that I am not the only one where I sometimes just want to do a more stylized look for non-metallic metal and going for a realistic look. Thanks for the great video!
0:50 I love zenith highlight b&w figurines. With 1% effort you get a mini that is 98% awesome but it then takes 2000% more effort to get that last 2% which is adding the colours.
love all your videos but the kingdom death ones the most I have been studying your video on the butcher for a week or more now to help me on my own model of him... Thank you very much for all your help
Lovely work as always. Really thought you were over saturating the yellow on the armour at one stage, but the highlights really pulled it all back in together. Nice use of the inks too. Top job.
I've already mentioned several times that I cannot wait for your artistic hands to get a hold of Obi Wan and General Grievous, those paint jobs are going to look sick But, after seeing this video and being reminded of kingdom Death, I would give up a kidney to see you paint the Gambler
@@Sorastro It's part of the wave 3 that got delayed a year. The Gambler's Chest and Campaigns of Death are the primary causes of the delay. The Gambler's Chest has grown to (beyond?) Core Game box size, and is now thematically linked and canonized into a full 30-year campaign expansion, with lots of content and models already added, including The King from the famously-cancelled Lantern Festival expansion. I'm not sure what previous timeline it was delayed a year from, but my expectation is that it'll be getting shipped or at least all game components finalized by the end of 2020. Personally I can easily wait; there's still so much assembly and game content (90%+) I've yet to experience. For the modelers, Poots has been selling "naked" models (ones from upcoming expansions). The huge Black Friday event just closed, but I think there's still some sort of fresh mini batch sale every month?
Ah ok - thanks for the update! It was so long ago that I backed version 1.5 etc that I’ve lost track of what’s going on. Looking forward to 2020 though 😀
I love what you do. Have you seen the Miniatures from Etherfield? Would love to see you paint some of those Miniatures from that collection when they become available.
Thank you Volkira! I have seen them but chose not to back it as I have so many games to cover as it is. (I will be producing some Tainted Grail PDFs on Patreon however...) :)
You are the best miniatyr painter i Know. So envious of your skillz. Im also painting. Im a beginner in this. Trying to figure out the highlights, its difficult. And trying to get the colors to match. Any tips you can give me?

Love your videos, keep coming back when I need inspiration on a new project. Have you any desire or thought about doing Holy Knight's Harry Potter mini game's miniatures? Been sitting on them awhile and afraid I'll mess them up, lol. Would love to see your take on them.
I would love to have one on one conversation with you about the choices and the whys of your painting....i love them...i love them all....also...the helm of the mini is quite nightmarish ...Dark Souls level...
Thank you so much for all the time and effort in putting these high quality production videos together as I know how much time goes in to them. Quick question. I may have missed it but did you do a basic gray priming step here or did you do the base coats without priming first?
Thanks a lot Arman! I mentioned it briefly near the beginning so it's easy to miss, but I primed in black, and provided some grey and white zenithal highlights from above. You can see me do this in more detail in the earlier episodes :)
Sorastro's Painting thanks for the quick reply. Sorry for missing that. I signed up as a pledge on your Patreon so looking forward to seeing some of your additional content. Thanks again.
Thanks a lot Chad! Yes, I finished the Grievous episode some time ago actually, and will release it as soon as I can. I’m also currently filming the Clone Troopers episode (using a new, Contrast Colours based approach...) :)
Hi! Hmm I can't actually remember where I got the ones I used for the King's Man as I based him a couple of years ago, but I have since bought a huge bag of slate from a local garden centre.. :)
While beautiful, I'm not sure I like the NMM work here. While perfect in concept, I just don't understand where the light is supposed to be coming from. I get that his halberd has a lantern on it, but it doesnt really feel like a lantern, so it looks like the light is coming from off his base. The lantern light also seems very dull, and mixes too well with the gold/OSL off the halberd, making it difficult to differentiate. Still a beautiful, virtuosic work.
Thank you! I'm certainly no expert with NMM so this was quite an experiment for me, and I'm sure won't be to everyone's taste, but regarding the question of where the light is coming from, it's a combination of yellow light from the lantern, plus a generic, cooler light from the environment. :)
Hi mate! Yes pretty much (a Rosemary and Co Series 8, Size 2), although I think I switched to the Red Grass Games brush when working on the base (because it feels bigger), plus I used some flat brushes for the dry brushing on the rocks. 😀
@@Sorastro Okay, thank you for the advice! I also want to say that I really appreciate that you take the time to respond to so many of these comments and help out us poor painters :D Most UA-camrs don't even like comments let alone respond
Thanks Rufus! I've heard it pronounced both ways, and just happen to prefer Dru-key-eye (the way we pronounce Latin words that end with "ii"). I'm not too bothered if it's "wrong" or not however - as long as my audience knows which product I'm referring to! :D
I love this Kingdom Death series... I wish there were more!

I wish I could get my GW paints to the same consistency that you have. Your paint flows off the brush so well.
Hi mate! You could try using a little flow enhancer to help get the paint flowing a little more nicely.. 😀
I need to look up airbrush thinner vs flow improver because I use primarily the latter
Amazing work! Love your KDM series!
