"I’ve been searching for a perfect breakdown on UA-cam for documentary-style editing using Canva for the past 4 years, and not a single video matches the quality and clarity of yours. Thank you for making it so easy to follow!"
Great to hear! Let me know if there is something i missed or another style I could try, always open to more suggestions. Also in case you missed it, i also did a tutorial on timeline animations which is a common feature in many doc-style edits. ua-cam.com/video/QvII2Uklj-c/v-deo.htmlsi=EGPgz_IsEfUQFOnm
Fantastic tutorial! Thank you so much, Lilly. It would be great if some of your tutorials were in a "follow along/learn along" style with a slower pace and maybe more timestamps. I personally played it at 50% speed while trying to replicate what you were doing on screen. Once again, a massive thank you for your work here. It is so useful and educational!"
i have never watched a better video than yours! been using canva for 4 years and I couldn't believe it's even possible to do in Canva. Wow!!! Standing ovation to you! 👏👏👏👏👏
I've always enjoyed clips by VOX because of their animation, since I prefer clear and simplified type of visuals, so thank you for showing how it can actually be done! I think the one constructive feedback I wanted to give is about the narration, which sounded a bit monotonous. Maybe add more pauses because at 10:26 I genuinely thought that was you supposed to be taking a deep breath as a joke because you've been speaking almost breahtlessly without natural pauses for the past 10 mins 😀Still, for a first attempt, I'd give it a 10/10 for the quality and the way you presented it.
Thank you for the insights and feedback :-) Yes you haven't been the first to point out the issue with the narration on this one. I had been experimenting with the pacing and obviously went a bit OTT. I will take this onboard for future videos and I'm glad you enjoyed the content otherwise!!
Bless you! This channel SHOULD have a MILLION subscribers for this video! I have become a fan of your tutorials. Bring more of this sort of videos. Analyze more of the famous UA-cam channel and how to make videos like them in Canva. Suggested Breakdown of channels like: Johnny Harris, CaspianReport, Kurzgesagt-in a nutshell, RealLifeLore, The School of Life, Think School. Cheers ❤
Thank you, that is a lovely thing to say!!!! LOL Kurzgesagt may be a bit ambitious for Canva but I will def check out the other channels, Johhny Harris was already in my mind but similar to VOX so I might look for something a bit different from your list. Obviously these guys are using After Effects / Resolve etc... but I love trying to recreate a Canva version to make this sort of content-creating more accessible to others.
Thank you, I am planning to release all of my tutorials as templates in the near future. I will make a post in the community tab once I get around to it :-)

Hello, how create Documentary slideshow & paper effect on canva ! pls next video this topic tutorial? You deserve more subscribers, views, very good work. 👍
Thank you for the feedback 🙏 And yes you weren't the first person to point out the speed on this video. I have adjusted the pacing on my editing ever since so you should find newer tutorials easier to follow 😊
Canva is probably easier but it doesn't handle long videos very well as it's cloud-based. If you plan on making anything over 5 minutes I would recommend using both, Canva for motion graphics etc and then import into CapCut for the final edit.
Is that voice yours or is it AI generated ? If it is AI generated can you please share that how you were about to get just a realistic voice out of a AI
Yes is AI from the ElevenLabs library. If you find the right voice make sure to be extra particular about grammar and punctuation. Also, make sure to only generate smaller paragraphs of script at a time, I find the larger the wordcount the more "AI" it sounds.
