Thank you Tom for watching and commenting!
Thank you Pavel for sharing this story. As a child, my wife studied piano. Her teacher was a wonderful Russian lady who had defected with her husband and son from Russia. Times were so hard for them in Russia but God sustained them. Thanks for sharing how God blessed you with bees. His blessings are abundant. Amen!
Thank you Brett for watching and commenting! :)
I am absolutely fascinated by your father Pavels direct easy approach to bees not human keeping but other way around bee keeping,I thank both you Anna and your dad for your wonderful videos.
Lol. Thank you! We are happy to hear that! :)
Great story how you started your hobby with bees! 🐝🌼👍
Thank you! :)
I enjoy listening to Pavel tell stories, I feel you can learn so much from him!
We are happy to hear that! Thank you Ted. :)
What an amazing story! That was incredible how bees came and occupied the hives after the original colony was gone.
I thought so too. So many new beekeepers are hard on themselves. The truth is a lot of people lose their hives in their first year of doing it. Thank you for watching! :)
You and your dad are a blessing, TY
You're very welcome! Thank you for watching! :)
Great to hear your dads beekeeping story! Keep the vids coming!
Thank you for watching! We are glad to hear that! :)
Your accent is NOT a problem, Pavel. We love your videos, your simplicity and your straightfoward methods of beekepping. Please, share more and we'll be back everysingle time to watch it. Thanks for your time and sharing. :)

Welcome back - I enjoyed your Dads story & Beekeeping is still expensive lol :) I'm glad he was blessed with the swarms to replace the bees he lost. I also hope your Mom knows it wasn't her fault the bees left and I am sure Pavel let her know.
Thank you for watching! Yes, it can be very expensive!
Thank you so much for sharing such a wonderful person.
Anna & Pavel cool video!! So happy when I got notification on new video. Your knowledge has been so helpful. Thank you again
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching and commenting! More videos are coming soon. I’ve been very busy with work and side work lately so didn’t get a chance to post as often.
We are happy to hear that our videos help.
VERY cool story, thank you Pavel and Anna. I can understand you perfectly, I just have to pay a little bit more attention :)
Thank you for watching and your feedback! We are happy to hear that! :)
Hello from The Emerald Isle (Ireland). Thank you both for sharing this valuable wisdom! I have watched many of your videos , and look fwd to taking my first step into Beekeeping next march. Which means I have a lot of time to study and start my preparations. This video I found especially heart warming, with your dads turn of luck(little miracle) with the new swarm taking over his empty hives! Please keep up the great work your doing. I look forward to seeing how you use thyme to help with little pests! Slan leat agus beanacht! Hamilton.
We are happy to hear that! :) Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave a comment! We love hearing comments like this one!
Awesome story! Loved it
Thank you! I love his story, we as new beekeepers are so hard on ourselves! When in reality most new beekeepers lose their hives within the first year.
@@AnnaKra I think both of you do a outstanding job! I would love to see more videos
@@bamaoutdoorsofficial Thank you! We have more videos lined up. I've just been so busy with work and side work. More coming soon.
@@AnnaKra Do y'all sell queens or nucs?

Great story! Thank you for sharing.
Well done. I learn a lot from this channel. Thank you for your efforts!
You’re very welcome! Thank you for watching!
I really enjoy hearing your grandads stories along with his years of knowledge, as a new beekeeper and a new subscriber I hope the 2 of you are continuing to make videos. :) Ty, Blessed Days...
Thank you!
Anna, I love your dad. I wish I was his neighbor so he could teach me about bees. I am about to catch another wild bee colony that made a hive in my backyard, so hopefully, I can make a video of it and post it.
We are happy to hear that! Please make a video of it and let us know when you post it! Thank you for watching!
Adoro ouvir vocês todos os dias
Thank you!
Pavel thank you for sharing this time of your life 👍 I am trying to learn Russian language for reading old Beekeeping books. Liked that you gave God the credit for bee swarm family and then a second swarm came. Good health to you and your family. Hello from the Kentucky mountains USA
We are happy to hear that! Thank you for watching our videos! :)
I love listening to Pavel and hearing what he has to say and learning from him. Anna It is so awesome that you and your father do this. We are blessed to have the both of you doing the videos and willing to share that knowledge. Please Keep the videos coming. I have run into having black hive beetles. I have put in hive beetle traps that use vegetable oil. To my understanding here in Memphis and the southern part of the US they seem to be bad. Is there anything else Pavel or yourself would suggest that I should be doing other than the hive beetle traps? Thank you both.
We just use the beetle trap. Also building up your hive to a very strong and healthy one will help, so they can fight the beetles off. Thank you for watching and your feedback! We are happy to hear that! :)
Great you sacrifice so much in and he had B that's great story. We take to much for granted. Thanks
True! You're very welcome! Also, as new beekeepers sometimes we can be hard on ourselves. The truth is most new beekeepers lose their hives in the first year. Thank you for watching! :)
очень интересная история, почему такого нет на Вашем канале?)
I was really interested in Pavel's story then it ended too soon. I assume he successively made splits and continued to grow.
I'm in my first year, with two micro hives (1/4 medium langstrop size ) I was gifted 7 boxes with frames to grow into, and plan on making 2 frame deep nucs to transition from micro to full deep. Going to build horizontal hives next season.
Nice! Yes, he expanded from those two swarms and continued to grow! Thank you for watching and leaving your thoughts. :)
👌🏼
Hi Anna & Pável, thank you so much for all your helpful videos and for sharing your wisdom and passion with all of us 🧡🙏🏻. I am a new beekeeper from North Carolina and have 1 colony that I got in June. (My second nuc arrived queenless and I returned). This one nuc I have left (5.5 frames ) had a bit of honey & pollen about a month ago and last weekend I saw they have no more honey. They are working hard and the queen is there laying eggs but I am worried in what to do to help them get through winter. I have spent so much getting them and I want to learn everything I can to help them but with Covid my classes got canceled and well I need a mentor and you are so kind I thought to ask for your bee wisdom 🧡. Thank you so much! Keep doing these videos! You are both a wonderful team! 🌻
Thank you! We are happy to hear that and appreciate your comment. I would make sure they have enough honey for the winter. I'm sure you will do just fine! Beekeeping is a learning process. Thanks for watching!
Nice video Anna it's good that you've posted something again it's a nice story. His English isn't that bad I understand him fine tell him not to worry.
Thank you, Joseph! :)
@@AnnaKra you're welcome you may call me Joe
@@AnnaKra hello Anna I've noticed something the American basswood trees behind my house blossomed and my bees filled all their supers which is wonderful of course but I had no idea that would happen because people in the U.K. they refer to them as linden trees. How am I to know what to expect from which plants if everything has more than one name? It's made me wonder if you or your father might know of a book I can buy that might tell me what plants are good for the bees and their many names? It seems odd having to translate English to well English and I thought maybe since your father has run into this since English is not his first language.
I lost my bees and had a empty hive this year and someone said they saw a bee swarm in a tree so watching your video on how to catch then .I was able to get then in a box and now I have bees again
Nice! That is awesome! :) We are happy to hear that! Thank you for watching!
Missed you both so much.
Please can we have a queen rearing video?
Thank you for watching! Thanks for the suggestion, we will consider that. We have a few videos lined up, coming soon.
He said at the time his accent lol I've watched to many I guess I understood everything he said ;)
when bee likes you, they come to your hand. :-)
Very interesting! Yes, thank you God! Phillip Hall
Thank you for watching and leaving your thoughts. We like knowing what people think of it! :)
your dad is great!
I thought so too! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)
Your English is good you get the message across one question when you put the thyme oil and coconut pads on does it affect the honey in the supers thanks from Ireland
I received a nuc on April 6, 2019, they swarmed on May 15, 2019. After swarming I added a honey super which they filled with honey but it’s not all capped. So first question, can you extract honey that’s not capped? Second question is it rare for a colony to grow that fast the first season?
A week or so ago I realize they needed more room (I assumed they needed more room) because the third super box was full of honey. I added another super but I put it under the super that had the honey. Is it okay to do this, add the fourth super by placing it under the honey super that is full?
Sorry it took a while to respond, Pavel has been so busy, it's hard to catch him sometimes. To answer the first question, he said yes, you can extract uncapped honey just don't forget to leave the lids open for at least two weeks for the water to evaporate. To answer the second question, It's not rare, it just means you have a very good nectar flow! Good location! To answer the third question, you can do it that way, but it may not be the best idea. The nectar flow usually dramatically slows down or ends around this time, so they may not fill the super with honey. For winter tho, you may want to make sure they have a honey super on top of the brood super without a queen excluder so that the bees can easily survive the winter! But in spring you can totally use this method (adding the empty super between brood and other honey super). Hope this helps. Thank you for watching and commenting! These are great questions!
awesome i like the video :)
Thank you Suzi! Dad's story is pretty interesting.
Круто 👍

Did the government let him sell bees and honey or did it have to be a hobby only?
I think the government let him. I will ask him and let you know. Thank you for watching! :)
When your dad say it was expensive start beekeeping, how he mean? Hive, get swarm, equicment?
Everything was expensive. I’m not sure if he was trained to catch swarms back then. Thank you for watching and commenting.
@@AnnaKra when I was around 5-6yo I remember in my village was much more beekeeper, in street we had 6-8 beekeepers from 30 house, of course they had around 6 hive, who had 20 it was big beekeeper, extractor not have everybody, it was shared, my dad build hive in big amount, I help hammering nails, in this time we hadnt air compressed nailer, one complet hive was in this time around 150-200 slovak crown

Accent? What accent?
Love the story... especially the part about sacrificing and saving for 6 months to get set up with equipment. That's un-American. We just pile on credit card debt to get what we "need" NOW! You're better off using saving.
Yes, I agree! Thank you for watching and commenting! :)

We can too buy. But only in spring.
Felt sad your dad couldn’t have bees when he was a kid. A waste of genuine enthusiasm. But I guess it would be expensive hobby in Soviet Union. Looks like it turned out ok
