Awesome video bro, been watching you for a couple months now.
Thanks my man!
Great info.
I bought 1 when tbey first came out! I loved it so much i bought another one! I use them the most over my curados and scorpion reels.
That’s awesome. The SLX lineup is a great model.
How would this compare to the Curado DC from years past?
Is it better DC tech?
Better spool?
Why would you not get the slx dc xt? The xt has IDC5 this has IDC4 right?
Im thinking about get the slx dc xt 71, would definitely replace the little handle with a gomexus, ive been doing the handle and drag star on all my reels. Look so damn good with a 100mm handle.
Great reviews, thank you for your efforts! Do you have new discount code?
I own the NON Dc chip and I have run it through it's abilities from off shore flounder and sea bass to inshore Striped Bass and it has performed perfectly. I Equipped it with 15lb SSlick v2 and Seaguar 12lb Salt water fluorocarbon leader paired with a Shimano Talavera Slow J 300g jigging rod. Also casts very well down to 1/4 oz. The only issue I have is the open/close switch for the casting brake adjustment I have accidentally popped it open at times but now I'm mindful of this and it's not an issue. DC is a gimmick in my opinion just learn the proper way to tune your reels! Thanks for your videos 👍🏽
So is this reel better than the 2019 model for 200?
Just placed my first order the other day for the Shimano aldebaran 30 MGL from Digitaka and I used your code to save even more money!
Nice! Enjoy
Would you happen to have another digitaka code. The one in the video is disabled.
Just staryed watching. Ive been eyeing those Tristan pliers. They look nice and light.
Yes, they are high quality. I’ve never owned a nicer pair.
How would it compare to the SLX DC XT?
Hi! Love your videos. I have been thinking about switching to Daiwa. I could get the new steez A II or the older CT SV. Which one is better for all round fishing? Greetings from Finland!
Steez A2 for all around , CT SV for the rather lighter spectrum of baits. Steez A2 is a workhorse reel….
@@arnemueller2112 Thanks for answering!
I got the before that and I love it cast a mile I can imagine will the new spool it will be better
Yes, it’s very nice to cast with.
Alwsys love reel content.
The Alderberan mgl is now from 2018. Do you think its still worth it or is there a different finesse type reel ypud go with thats a newer model?
I would go with Calcutta BFS. Hands down the best with all the new models.
I'm not wanting another bfs reel. Just a small, light finesse type reel. Something similar to a lews custom light. I love my zillions and metaniums but I like the 5oz range.
I've had that reel a few months and like my other shimano reels, it does not disappoint. I also got mine from Digitaka and will be buying the conquest bfs from them soon.
Nice! Glad to hear it’s working for you. You will love the new Calcutta BFS reel.
I keep seeing "bfs". What does it stand for?

Hey buddy love the content. I’d like to get your digitaka code for Sept. Thanks buddy keep fishing and posting !
Thanks!
what dc reels do have a drag clicker ?
None, there is a $ 50 upgrade you can install.
What is your digitaca code sir?
Side by side, is this smaller than the old slx dc? Was hoping for a smaller profile.
It’s the same size as the older JDM SLX 70 generation model. It’s the same size as with the 22 SLX DC XT.
Reel review begins at 7:15. Since you had the sideplate off, you could have gone over the brake settings for mono, braid and fluorocarbon?
This model does not have that option. The 22 SLX DC XT does have that option, but it’s more expensive.
Great vid. Look forward to seeing to fish with it. I never heard your code either. I watched every second. At 14:43 you said to use your discount count but never said it.
literally in the first 2 minutes of the video
Slx dc 71xg or currado 151xg? Got 2 days until fishing trip. Which one should i get? $20 more for the corrado where im from. Both brand new.
Bigger baits = Curado
Smaller baits = SLX DC
I have the original SLX DC and the non DC. I love both of them, I have easily over a 100 fish on the non DC. I use the standard SLX for heavy frogging with 50lb braid. And use the DC for moving baits with 12lb flurocarbon. Literally have no complaint’s, would buy both again. Planning on putting the standard SLX onto another rod setup cause it’s just proven and works and buying this new DC to replace it. So that will be #3 for me in my rod lineup. I’ve also used my friend’s Curado DC and I preferred the feel of the SLX. I’ve never even considered this a heavy reel either, it feels as heavy as about every other reel I’ve ever used DC and not. I think the weight thing only matters if your super anal about every gram.
Nice reel. Just got a Calcutta dc. Shimano just makes the best reels. Period.
Oh nice! Calcutta DC is one I’ve been eyeing myself. How do you like it so far?
Bruh I got a slx dc xt and the dc system stopped working after 1 day
what's september code?
I just picked one up from digitaka with your coupon code. Now I'm not sure what rod I should pair it with. I do lake fishing for crappie bass and trout. Planning to use swimbaits and small top water lures. If anyone has some input I'd appreciate it thanks

Use discount code RXANGLER20
Thanks dude
You don't have your digitaka discount code on your description? Love you even though I'm a better fisherman
It’s in the video
What would you choose, this or the SLX DC XT?
Review the slx dc xt please
I’ll try.
Do you have a discount code for Digitaka this summer or month?
Yes, in the video.
Thanks, I must of missed it. A bit off topic but are you going to create anymore archery videos?
@@pengyang2736 yes! Soon hopefully
Not sure why they dropped a 2023 SLX DC with the DC-4 in 70 frame when they have the 2022 SLX DC XT which is the same but with the DC-5 better braking system? I mean it's $40 more... it just seems odd that theh would release another one with a worse DC brake system.
Maybe surpassing a certain amount of dollar amount (yen amount) may shy away customers. It may be a marketing thing.
any codes for Blackfriday?
Would you happen to have code??
What's the difference between SLX XT DC vs SLX DC?
Xt has a better dc system idc5
Nice reel…it’s hard to beat Shimano products. I can’t seem to get away from them.
Agree!
Im big on Shimano and Daiwa. Have far too many of both.
Soy pescador de 3 veces a la semana pero no veo grandes diferencia para sobrepagar por un steez cuando ese mismo rendimiento me lo da un sv tw 😂
Can you fish with it in saltwater?
Yes!
That’s all I use !!! I bought mine in 2022 though. Wonder if they have improved??
The biggest downfall of all DC reels is the weight. As rods become lighter and lighter I would never put such a „wrecking ball“ on, although the DC system is really good.
Yes, it’s a give and take situation with DC reels. Heavier weight but you get arguably longer casts, less birds nest, more efficiency, and advanced technology.
The 6lb drag steers me away big time lol
Except it’s 11-12lbs, right?
@@jdp2380you’re right. I think I mistaken 6kg for 6lbs lol
This reel only means a new metanium dc is coming soon. Theres honestly no reason to buy a Metanium DC since this release imo.
I’m hoping the new Metanium DC is coming soon.
Kind of a waste of productivity from shimano tbh .. the xt is far superior
(bang for the buck) maybe if they did a mgl lll spool or at least trickle some tech down .. they need to spend that time on a new metanium dc .. same with the 23 antares the 21 is the same reel diff finish and md was added .. wheres the innovation gone 😢.. love shimano but 23 was a bust for innovation !
I wouldn’t say the best, I prefer my Diawas
Daiwa’s are awesome too. Not gonna argue.
The best reel from Shimano is the 20 Metanium)
DC reels aren’t that great. Get a Curado instead for that price. The DC is extremely overrated. Get a better mag break curado, or better a Bantam
You must not have any DC reels. I have like 9 metaniums and I watch my friends that fish more then anyone I know battle birds nests all the time. I laugh when people put down a DC. I’d love to fish with you. I would laugh at you just like my friends 😉
@@CS-wp5dz ponete al lado mío con mi steez 23 yo me reiria porque bno podrías lanzar un cebo de 8 gramos a 47 metros con un DC
@@CS-wp5dz DC es para principiantes 😢
These are waaaaaaay too expensive for what they are, as are all Shimano reels, but the worst part is the shallow spools. That automatically makes them completely impractical for me. I have several brand reels and many of them have almost double the line capacity of most Shimano reels and I'm bombing lures waaaay out and end up at the almost half way point of my spools. If I'd have hooked the 11.6 pounder I caught in January on a Shimano, it may well have spooled me!
Sorry but no thank you!
