Hi Andy, Your reviews have been brilliant for me. In the last week I have purchased two JLC timepieces. The Blue dial Polaris Date, boutique edition and the Master Control Calendar.
always said I'd buy a JLC MCC if they did it in blue - and was delighted to collect one in London yesterday - that blue dial on this watch really looks good!
I was also very enthusiastic about the Master Control Calendar at first. I then took a little time to think it over carefully. And I almost bought the watch too. But strangely enough, these 12 small, round luminous indices and hands bothered me more and more. I don't know either, but somehow it seemed a bit cheap to me. I would have liked it to be a bit more like the Master Thin Moon.
Hi andy, I've basically just discovered your channel, I've already watched a couple ( really enjoyed them) but since I was streaming to my TV had to come into the bedroom to comment. One almost never sees live videos of the JLC Masters, so this was great to see what it looked like. I'm a big fan of theirs and I hope to one day buy one, though it's going to depend on the size etc.
Sadly not an annual calendar. I wasn’t sure, so called JLC today. Bit of a disappointment really for the money. But at least you get to interact with the watch regularly.....every month.
Tried on both of these JLCs today and love the Date version. Even like it more than the Breguet 5157 I was considering as my next purchase. Now it is this JLC Date vs ALS Saxonia thin. Have to find one to try it on. Pictures don't do these JLC watches justice. They have to be seen in the metal.
The only thing I wish JLC would do better is movement finishing. Now it's far from bad but it look rough on some edges. It would be nice if they could do bevelling on all visible movement parts.
Not sure about the tan straps. For my liking a black or a dark navy blue may work better ? I need to retract my comment about the tan strap. I think JL C have made a very wise choice by deciding on a tan strap. Now l really like it, compliments the watches perfectly !
Can you do a review of the master control “sector dial”? Is this a limited edition? Maybe the most beautiful dress watch I’ve ever seen. Love a review. Love your channel.
Really liked the new format and especially the watch. I think thst without the annual clendar the tripple datebecomes a little bit rudimentary and expensive. I would prefer an ultra thin Moon, but this Master is still elegant and desirable as hell. Please review the chronograph in the future.
I didn’t ask for chronograph to be honest, maybe I should have. It was more about evaluating the watches I am looking to own and afford. The Chrono tips over the £10k mark, so fell off the list. I had tried the ultra thin previously, but much preferred the weight and form factor of the master control calendar. Next time I’ll make sure I’m able to evaluate the whole range if available.
Great review. Could you review the Jaeger “sector dial”? Love the date version but can’t see many for sale. Is it a limited edition? Maybe the classiest watch I’ve ever touched. I want it! Any info would be the helpful
I have the moonphase triple date in 18ct white gold with the officers back, the metal and the solid back make the watch weight a bit more and preowned seems to be the value option.
Another great video , what do you think of all the waiting lists for the high end watches and the price of them ,some of them are 5 more expensive than a Omega Aqua Terra and do the same thing ,you can’t beat Omega for value and the German watches I would say are fantastic ,Lange exhibition case backs are the best ,GO 1970s are fantastic, thanks🏴
Waiting lists and the perception of short supply will always make luxury items more desirable. It took about a year for my Submariner to come through which was fine. I was in no rush and not in to paying more than retail. I love Omega’s. I always look there first when considering a new watch, and like you say offer great value for money.
Bought the new master calendar 2 days ago since it becomes available from my local AD and Im loving it! Just posted unboxing on my channel. I managed to get a managers discount which is very unusual for a newly released timepiece. Cheers
JLC just screams class and refinement. One of my favorite Manufacturers ever!
The price of the Master Control Calendar has increased somewhat 😂😂

Great choices. Enjoy in good health.
@@TheEnglishWatch thank you 👍🏻
I have the master control date since 4 weeks. A stunning watch ❤️😍
Looking at this myself. How have you found the accuracy?
@@roberth.8807 Very good :)

It’s a watch I keep going back to, but it’s not currently on the list, and recognise your comments. The Master Moon Ultra Thin is the pick for me.

this is high horology at Rolex price and I will be getting mine this year!
Does it automatically know which months only have 30 days or does it need to be adjusted manually?

@@TheEnglishWatch it doesn't really put me off to be honest, it's a gorgeous watch. Annual calendar would've been a bonus though.

You can’t un-wear them. You’re hooked as I am. Good luck.

beautiful watch! It is on my Wishlist :)

The moonphase is absolutely perfect
Could you review the master control JLC “sector”?
If I get the chance I’ll get one out.

If I’m lucky enough to get my hands on one, I certainly will.

Great watches and very underrated 👍

I’ll add it to the list. I haven’t got a regular dealer I call just call up yet. Working on it.
Could you review the master control “sector dial” limitless run edition. Blue hands. Maybe the classiest watch I’ve seen under $10,000. Wow.
If I can get get my hands on one. They are nice.
i do love a JLC moon
I would take the calendar over a sub. The Sub is a great watch, but really just a low end luxury watch that millions of people have.
Not a big fan of moonphase as a complication for self BUT of the two it’s my choice due to the symmetry of the dial versus date only at 3

May I ask which AD?
@@rodrigoayling336 WOS
How much was the managers discount, if you don’t mind sharing?
While I like this watch the 40mm diameter is just too big. Doesn’t work.
JLC, Lange and Breguet are the real holy trinity of top watch brands imo
