This interview is great! The information is explained really well and I’m glad the series is contacting paleontologists to provide us with a more accurate depiction of the dinosaurs.
Indeed but it has to go through steven spielberg first
If only the franchise had done this from the start. Imagine seeing a strong, bulky possibly feathered T. rex on the screen. I don’t think many people would like that, but I would love to see an accurate dinosaur franchise like this. But they are making a good step forward doing this.
@@ethoraptor9479 steven spielberg tried out once before with the feathered dinosaurs guess which dinosaur franchise besides the jurassic park / world movies and if you can't guess it in 5 minutes what it is I'll tell you
Okay lads someone make this artwork now old gen t rex vs a new gen more accurate rex
Right now I'm currently working on a balanced design between the jurassic park / world dinosaurs and the latest scientific research and discoveries starting with the tyrannosaurus rex
I love how open this guy is, doesn't sugarcoat his feelings on the JW designs
Next week: Klayton resurrects Stan Winston from the grave and Stan sculpts a full size Trex for him
Internet user: We don't need animatronics anymore. Everything is done with CG and CG is better.
Zombie Stan: *Kicks In Door* SO I HEARD YOU WERE TALKING SHIT!
Best use of necromancy ever!
Speaking of Tyrannosaurus rex, should "Tarbosaurus" Bataar actually be Tyrannosaurus Bataar?
I don't know what to say
While your at it resurrect a T. rex to
I actually really like the Allosaurus design from FK, however the adult Allosaurus from Battle At Big Rock was ten times better and that's the one i want to see in Dominion.
I liked the Fallen Kingdom Allosaurus design too but I loved the Battle at Big Rock Allosaurus more.
I hope in jw Dominion it has the arrows that were shot at the battle at big Rock Allosaurus to one make the short film Cannon and 2 so people can give her a Nick name
We can all agree the allo in battle at big rock is probably the best
NicoParasite
What were the differences between the two versions? I’m not really good at paying attention to details. Wait... I’m blind. Literally.
Your right
Wait, Barney the Dinosaur is not a horror series? That's certainly news to me.
Considering that Barney movie that Daniel Kaluuya is working on, it could be.
Hey now don’t rouind my childhood by saying it’s a horror movie
Kion Kamali 689 studios bruh it ain’t no childhood
Ok what ever but it’s still was my childhood after all
barney gave me std, same as my great gramp back in nam'
Man, I like the Allosaurus from Battle at Big Rock more than the juvenile.
The one at big rock was allo gen 2
@@Mkjeez the allosaurus is actually a saurophaganax
@@fantasticredeye2252 Nothing of what you guys said has been confirmed
@@fantasticredeye2252 its confirmed allosaurus
@@LeoTheYuty No, but we can use actual scientific facts from the real world. Saurphagnax Maximus is an Allosaurid that stood at around 4 meters tall, 13 meters long, and weighed 4 tons.
The Allosaurus in FK were around the size of known Allosaurus species (2-3 meters tall, and 9-10 meters long) which means either what we saw in FK are juvenile Saurophagnax's or the one in BoBR is a different species.
klayton: " i got to interview someone"
Me: HUUUUH i need to know
Thanks for having me Klayton! Had a great time! 🦖
One of the most interesting parts about this is hearing that Colin’s picking up and using technical terms for dinosaurs. He’s serious about this. That’s some of the best news I could hear for JWD dinosaur designs.
It just didn't save the series in the end
Wow, this is a really cool interview you've made, Klayton. Allosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs and I love the Big Al documentary (Still can't believe he was a new species this whole time). I wish you could interview more people involved with the Jurassic franchise.
Well we didn't know he was; all the specimens from the new species Jimmadseni were just lumped into Fragilis until we decided to take a closer look. I love it; though unfortunately the Big Al Doc is now somewhat outdated because the model is still meant to be A. Fragilis. Oh well; hindsight is 20/20
it's also noteworthy that he made these changes in such a way that it still works as the adult version of JWFK's allo.
I have a theory, when Dennis Nedry got eaten by the dilo, he comes back in a different universe, he becomes Newman from Seinfeld! 🤣 Also this is great!
Ryson Nelson Or he’s just a rotting corpse.
Jacob Arnold lol
Nedry got isekai'd
or maybe Seinfeld is a prequel to Jurassic park
Bullsh*t!!!!! He became a cop and dated Sally from 3rd Rock!!!!!!!!
22:17
EXACTLY, glad he understands
also I love the baryonyx.
I think the Baryonyx holds up better because the darkness hides so much of the animal. While the Allosaurus is in bright daylight, all flaws exposed.
Should try and make these interviews more frequent
I am super jealous of this guy you interviewed. He gets to do paleo art and work in a dinosaur themed museum, AND work on the Jurassic Park/World films.
Also I am glad to hear they may be more willing to design more accurate dinosaurs. Hopefully they can do that more in later films. Even though it would break canon, I would love to see the T.rex(s) and raptor(s) and the other carnivores with the proper wrist placements too.
-Edit: I forgot to write this in, but if the Jurassic Park franchise does hold a monopoly on dinosaur films or perhaps may be the only green-lit dinosaur theme films, which is sad, then they better continue making them and presenting dinosaur respectfully and accurately too. I can’t imagine living in a world with no more dinosaur films after Dominion releases.
The Battle at Big Rock Allosaurus is beautiful. I love the small detail that it’s blind in one of its eyes.
32:31 Feathered raptors are definitely as scary as or perhaps scarier than bald scaly ones, the feathers stop you seeing so well where their claws are.
I’m so excited for that graphic novel “Prey”
Hearing Trevorrow talk about wrist pronation and primary feathers made my day it’s such a good sign
Get those facts Clayton lol that’s why I love your channel and what makes it so special!
totally agreed on the feathered dinosaurs points. for my part, i've been developing ideas for a story set in a world where dinosaurs and humans coexist naturally (as in it's not a result of genetic engineering, etc.) with the specific intention of demonstrating that feathered dinosaurs can be just as scary as scaly ones as well as to draw attention to some lesser-known fossil species and rehabilitate the reputations of some others (Spinosaurus in particular). generally speaking, feathered dinosaurs only look goofy when they're intentionally designed to look goofy by people who refuse to accept that a feathered Tyrannosaurus looking at you like you're lunch would be just as scary as if it were covered in scales
The allosaurus is one of my favorites, I’m so glad we got to see a short film with a good design!
Utahraptors would be perfect for a feathered scary raptor for the sequel. Or microraptor if used right
As always, great job! The interview was awesome, and with actually living in Utah only 20 minutes from the museum that he works at, it makes me want to go there soon after this whole pandemic thing is over! The new allosaurus design is so much better in so many ways, so I am glad he had a hand in making that happen. I do sure hope the movie shows us a world where not only are dinosaurs roaming freely in the wild, but new companies are now developing their own scientifically accurate versions of dinosaurs and that is the main conflict of the film in some way. Seeing a scary feathered raptor and seeing Owen and Allen's reaction would be awesome. There is so much potential too for characters to have brief conversations throughout the movie that clear up the discrepancies in the franchise dinosaurs compared to real life dinosaurs. Kind of going off Grant's JP3 quote and how JP/JW dinosaurs are genetically inaccurate theme park attractions with blanks filled in in their DNA leading to what we see. Getting to see a scene where the JP dilophosaurus makes a return but it runs off scared of its accurate, large counterpart would be a really clear way of showing that sort of thing besides the raptor example of course. So we will see. Fingers crossed!
Oh my gosh...I never knew that I needed an accurate dilo to scare off the old jp dilo. But now I do.
Great having you onboard Ethan! It's cool you had the opportunity in designing the adult Allosaurus in "Battle at Big Rock," and you made some strong points in why the next JW should include more accurate dinosaurs. Now I still love many of the classic JP designs, and a few from the JW films (Apatosaurus, Carnotaurus, Stygimoloch), but the newest additions should be as accurate as possible.
They didn’t call the allosaurus the lion of the Jurassic for nothing edit: I’m actually really surprised this got to 69 so let’s keep it there shall we
Triceratops Horridus1021 damn 69 likrs
Bacon Blast well damn I actually I’m really surprised it got to that

Triceratops Horridus1021 nah I undo it u on 69 again lol
Awesome video about the Allosaurus design from Battle At Big Rock Klayton Fioriti.
Please do a special video of you comparing pics of InGen dinosaurs and their scientifically accurate counterparts!
I haven't watched a lot of your videos the last 2 years but I have been binge watching them during our lockdown here in South Africa! Great content, I won't leave for so long again!
Who else’s favorite dinosaur is the Allosaurus? And also this Allo looks awesome
Gaming Pigeon yeah I love allo they didint call him the lion of the Jurassic for nothing
he is a very elegant creature
My fave is suchomimus
I hope he is in the next movie
Liquid Lijah meh mines the trike(as told by my profile pic) I hope it’s in the next movie but i hope it gets a more accurate design because to be honest the fallen kingdom one looks more like a mammal than a reptile at this point
i dont like fragilis but i really like Saurophaganax Maximus
It's an Allosaurus but the size of Battle At Big Rock reminds me to Saurophaganax or even Epanterias.
To be fair Saurophaganax is still grouped as an allosaurus by some paleontologists.
Yeah Saurophaganax is probably a large adult Allosaurus, we just need more specimens to be certain. Epanterias is also possibly an Allosaurus.
@@thedukeofchutney468 you mean allosaurid
@@fantasticredeye2252 it's an Allosaurid without question, it's probably an Allosaurus

Absolutely!

Such an improvement to Fallen Kingdom. It looks and sounds sooo much better.
the battle at big rock design is awesome
I live in Utah and I’m definitely going to that museum
I started watching this when it came out seven minutes ago, and yet in that little bit of time there are about 100 comments. WOW. That’s cool.
This was a fascinating interview! The BABR Allosaurus was great, and it's neat to hear about the work behind the scenes that led to the design. Really encouraging to get a sort of insider's confirmation that they are looking to introduce more accurate dinosaurs in the future. I hope the filmmakers listen to Dr. Brusatte. Thanks for this, Klayton!
I love how this guy is like a irl mix of Grant and Malcolm (knowledge, charm and the umms)
The Nasutoceratops’ feet still need some work, but the overall design was great in Battle at Big Rock.
Allosaurus is my favorite dinosaur and a big Jurassic Park fan so I’m really excited about this
Hearing that stuff about dinosaur movies being shut down because Universal has essentially copyrighted dinosaurs has me FUMING.
I know right like what if we won’t get savage land in the MCU or any other dinosaur movie outside of universal like are you kidding me.🤬
YES!! I've always wanted a new interview from Klayton Fioriti.😉
I love this video explaining the allosaurus especially since it's my favorite dinosaur! I think It would be really cool if you did a series of videos explaining the design and how accurate the dinosaur models are. I would love to see one on the mosasaurus
*"Spared no expense!"*
Now what I'm looking forward to in "Dominion" is the *contrast* that'll erupt from InGen's clones facing more scientifically-accurate ones from rival entities.
I’m not a person that normally tends to watch a 40-50 minutes videos but you always make me watch them like I was watching a movie , probably I have watch entirely all your videos since you started focusing on the Jurassic park saga .
As sad as it sounds in my country Spain 🇪🇸 basically everyone ho has a channel related to the Jp franchise copies like 90% of your videos just by switching the language and adding clickbait in the thumbnails , so they made me lose hope in my own community . Thanks klayton for doing great content !!
I too hope that film will continue once this pandemic crisis is over and it's nice to meet you Ethan
This guy deserves a medal for getting them to fix the wrist positions. I noticed it in Battle of big rock, like "wow does this one have clappers instead of slappers?" turns out i wasn't seeing things! I hope the movie has more of that.
Clappers and slappers, I'm stealing that
I remember watching all the walking with dinosaur documentaries on repeat as a kid. The special with Big Al was always one of my favorites.
1:07, that's a cool photo!
YES FINALLY & also I have a question did Ethan base the “Adult Allosaurus” off of the size estimate of Saurophaganax? Or what others call Allosaurus Maximus.
We talk about Allosaurus Maximus briefly in this interview
Klayton Fioriti also if you ever get the chance again please let Ethen know I’m very thankful for the non-pronated hands & thank you for answering my question
Carmelosaurus thanks man! Appreciate the kind words
Just an add : maximus shouldn't be capitalized
This was incredibly fascinating. I'll definitely be keeping an eye out for that Prey graphic novel, too!

Excelent interview man! Love it
This is so awesome and fascinating. Thank you so much for this
Allosaurus was the Jurassic carnivore I grew up with from WWD and Big Al. For some time, I had a hunch the adult Allosaurus in Big Rock was male in comparison to FK’s juvenile female.
I like the JW evolution's large theropod allo, Apart from Saurophaganax case, wasn't there were estimations for a (potentially) much larger or Taller allosaurus; Last time I checked there was the Epanterias specimen and the undisclesed bonebeds from Utah indicating allo 'might' have grown taller
Absolutely fantastic interview. So many points that I agree with. Hope that he’ll be involved in more Jurassic projects in the future!
the fact that the baryonyx and allosaurus designs are in my top 10 favorite dinosaur designs in the jp franchise
I got so excited over a replica of Big Al in Montana a couple years back. I loved that documentary when I was younger
I love when this guy pokes logic at JP like he forgets sometimes that the companies in charge tamper with the Look of the Dino's to make them more impressive XD
7:10 I always thought the way the theropods in JP/JW hold their hands looks limp-wristed and camp, the clapping position they had in real life looks so much scarier, like it's gonna grab you rather just slap and scratch at you.
Excellent interview Klayton. The Allosaurus it's one of my favourite dinosaurs along the Deinonychus and the Argentinosaurus.
As someone who's favorite dinosaur is an Allosaurus.
That design causes me physical pain in fallen kingdom. The Big Rock one, chef's kiss. Wonderful work.
I liked the Battle at Big Rock Allosaurus more
The Graphic Novel sounds really interesting!
I live right by that museum where he worked!
27:45 This interview was so refreshing when the original Jurassic park was made 1993 there commitment to scientific accuracy was astounding and then overtime they just stopped caring and left the dinosaurs the same and never updated them this is why we need the Jurassic movies to step up and stop giving us outdated dinosaurs this what I've been trying to preach as an aspiring paleontologist myself, even though one of my main goals is to eventually create a new type of Dinosaur documentary to teach people about how dinosaurs really looked but we need the movies to at least do a little more than the weird lizard abominations that some of the sequels gave us thank you so much for giving us this interview :)
If it's the Australian guy again I swear-
Oh thank god.
Advspringbonnie what’s wrong with the Australian guy?
@@TheRealRip-Tide from the JP3 April fools joke script.
Really interesting interview. So glad you mentioned the Allosaurus in Walking with Dinosaurs. That's my favorite one.
I wonder why the juviniles hold the wrists traditionally, but the adults hold them accurately
Sexual Dimorphism and possibly different species get brought up in this interview 😉
Maybe it broke it's arms and never recovered or some other bs.
@@KlaytonFioriti I would have probably went with them being different versions or models of a clone. The adult being an older model being replaced with the newer ones the park staff deemed were more kaiju-esque and suited for a theme park. It make sense because canonically, in this world, the initial magic sensation of extinct clones had waned with the public and they needed something less real.
The Fallen kingdom Design looks more cute, like something that you would kind of want to be as a kind of pet. The Battle at Big rock looks more ferocious. Like something that once you look at it, you know you should run.
I love the new allosaurus it just looks really real
Ethan was on an old jurassic park forum i was on like 6 years ago. Its wild to see him on here working on the short movie.
Justin Adams Ethan here! which one were you on?
That graphic novel sounds really interesting.
OMG the moment that music started I screamed because I LOVED the Lost World game!!!!!
The allosaures sculpt is awesome I'm wondering if it's going to be in domian
Dominion*?
Man I just love those videos. Dinosaurs... I could talk about them and Jurassic Park/World for days and days... Thanks man, you do a great job.
I hope the dilo in Dominion (if there is one) is a fair bit bigger than the JP dilo. It would be cool to see one that's more accurate, since the JP one was a juvinile.
I couldn't even tell what the allosaurs was when I first saw it in the trailer.
I thought it is was a suchomimus or something
“Get the hell out of here”...... 😂 I’m obviously very late to this interview, I just came from the interview concerning the Rex in the JP franchise. Thank you Klayton for all of this information being presented to us, and big thanks to your friend!
A really great interview, it was Very informative!
I respect paleo art. I think its amazing
Love this interview so much! As a massive fan of dinosaurs and someone who wanted to study paleontology, this interview is amazing and shares my exact feelings about the Allosaurus. I also think it’s sad that more movies won’t try dinosaurs because of JP.
I think the allo looked really cool
Cool stuff Klayton! I have some cool info for you.
Yesterday, if you didn't already see, Colin Trevorrow posted a pic of him and another colleague looking at a monitor focused on Masie Lockwood. The location is a logging facility. If you haven't already seen it, check it out. If you have, please let me know.
Some of those BBC dinosaur documentaries have life like dinosaurs. Real impressive
Can't wait to hear this about Nasutoceratops.
Honestly Battle at high Rock allo all the was she looks so amazing
Great video, best JP youtuber!
I love this video. The Allosaurus is one of my favorite dinosaurs. I'm currently working on stop-motion puppets for allosaurus.
We need more dinosaurs/ prehistoric documentaries
Just imagine one about Nasutoceratops & another about Allosaurus to celebrate the release of Battle At Big Rock.
Has anyone heard of Jurassic fight club
Rule 1: Never talk about Jurassic fight club.... foo
30:25, I hope Dominion gets good reviews on how accurate the Dinosaurs are in the film, whether bit would be a good design or a bad design, depends on what people think.
It’s really awesome hearing from someone who actually worked on the dinosaur _designs_ in the films and gives us insight to the thought process behind making them. THATS what I’m most interested to see, he seems to share a lot of my own thoughts on the dinosaur models from Fallen kingdom too lol
keep your channel up man, you're doing awesome and its a great gift for all us dino lovers out there
@Klayton Fioriti a user by the name of @Taliesin Coleman actually told me that the reason why the Wrists in the allosaurus aren’t pronated is because it just got used to holding its hand in that positions.
This was great! Congrats on an interesting interview!
This is why I'm a huge Dinosaur purist and a Jurassic park fan at the same time the dinosaurs in Jurassic park 1 where accurate by 1993 standards and I am so excited to see that they are finally updating them and taking it seriously after having kept them the same and creating all these false myths about dinosaurs. I hope this continues even if they are only being changed one step at a time.
