I was working on my truck (following UA-cam tutorials) and got frustrated. So I took a break, and searched up "How to flip pancakes) just to remind myself on how far I've become in life. From flipping pancakes to working on a vehicle. Thank you for this video! It really calmed me down.
Great to hear!
thank you so much!
Finally I found the perfect video yay!🎉
Thank you! I hope your future pancakes are epic!
One of the things I find so frustrating about some instructional videos is when they say things like “make sure it’s on medium heat! It’s the most important thing!” And then don’t do the obvious thing - explain what “medium heat” is. If, as a teacher, you know people are getting their pancakes wrong often, please be open to the possibility that people need more coaching on the basics, like how to know if you’re stove is in the right temp setting. If you find yourself saying “this is super important!” perhaps that is a trigger to suggest you should include how to make sure your students are getting that bit right. Just a thought. Thank you for your videos!
Yes! Just googled "what is medium heat on stove" and it said number 5 lol! But for other appliances No idea!!!
Medium heat means medium heat 😂😂
@@Eric_P2823 And That's that. 🤣
This is such a triggering comment lmao delete this bruh
Noted, the reason I wasn't clearer is becuase different devices show medium differently. Some simply say "medium heat" others have a range going from low-medium in a little design and others are numbers-based. But however it's shown on your stovetop, the middle of the options you're given, should do the trick to achieve "medium"
THANKS SO MUCH MAN I WAS FUMED CUZ I AINT KNOW HOW TO FLIP PANCAKES BUT NOW U TAUGHT ME😂😂😂❤️
I'm all about that pancake life! Glad you found this helpful!
Thank you for your great video. My classes will be making pancakes tomorrow.. I hope they will be able to flip the pancakes without making a huge mess.
I'll keep my finger crossed!
Thanks it really helped again thank you so much
I'm so glad!
I'm 15, baby sitting for my 4 siblings. I decided to make pancakes for my first time and they just wouldn't flip, they were so stuck to the pan and when I tried to get them off the pancakes were cakes they were more like minced meat looking. No matter how much oil I put the same result came out, maybe it was the heat. But thanks for the info I'll try not to have to wash 3 different pans because I've ruined them trying to flip the pancakes.
I’m sorry you did not have success flipping. I’m sure frustrating but your efforts are amazing. Lucky siblings. Are your pans non-stick? And we’re you using a large enough spatula?
Thank you so much! This video is amazing!
I’m glad you found it helpful
Thank you
If you have room on your griddle, when you do the flip you can have a new buttered or sprayed area to cook the other side and get the same golden/crispy as the first side.
Great tip!
Thanks
thank you .
thanks so much i cooked the perfect pancakes now yey
You are welcome 😊
Thank you!
Hope it helped!
Yummy in my tummy
☺
your opening few sentences made me want to cry. Once I heard 'when to flip' I just wanted to bawl. Having food crises are NOT HELPFUL. Thank you so very much!!
oh no! i hope you don't have a pancake crisis again!
Thank you Laura!
Thanks for watching! I hope you found it helpful and your pancakes came out great!
@@MOMables They did! 😁
Aaaaaand now I'm craving pancakes for dinner. Need!
Brinner is always a GREAT idea!
I was cooking them in heat 2/9 and they still burn i guuess its the pan
Do you have to clean the pan to remove the butter before making the next batch of pancakes if you are making a large amount?
Sometimes, your butter or oil turns dark brown when making lots of batches. So yes, I take a paper towel, wipe the pan down, re-grease and pour away!
I'm 16 yrs old and made pancakes once, It was difficult and got the pan messy and it was hard to clean, I barely cook but if I do, it's sloppy joes or eggs. Making pancakes is probably the most frustrating thing I've ever made
You will get better at it with practice, I promise!. You can try and use more oil or butter in the pan before cooking. That way the pancakes won't stick to the pan.
What heat should I have it on, on my stove it just 1-8 what number would u say would be good for that good good texture
Medium-high so aroung 5-6.
Last time I tried making pancakes I set the fire alarm off 😂
I'll try these tips when I make pancakes later today lol
You've got this!!
I have a question, why do my pancakes have even browning on the first side but when I flip to cook the batter side it doesn't come out the same way as the top? is it just like that or is my pan too hot?
I have the same problem. The other side always doesn't brown evenly, mostly only on the center cause the edges don't touch the pan.
As @shrimpsauce5023 said, the first side absorbed your butter or oil. If the second side doesn't brown, this means your heat source might not be hot enough.
Hi.... what is the temperature of what you call " Medium Heat"? Thank you.
On most electric griddles about 350F.
Lmao she didn't flip the one she poured first.
They've all been flipped, don't worry!
Do I need to spray cooking oil on the griddle in order to cook pancakes golden brown?
It's not necessary but it does help.
Hi. Can you advise why my pancake doesn't rise? That despite I already add a lot of baking soda. It's just very thin. Thanks in advance.
Baking soda is different than baking powder. Baking powder is what helps pancakes rise.
How to keep the edges from lifting when cooking them, i always have to flatten it with spatula
It's good if they are lifting, it's because of the baking powder. That means they are ready to be flipped.
im learning
Happy to help!
Off topic but wow you have beautiful hair!
You're beautiful
Thank you so much!
Where have you been all my life? I always wait for the bubbles to be gone before flipping
Good idea!
Would you say you put your stove heat at between 3 or 4 or would you put it at 4 or 5??? In other words low heat or high heat?
While every stove is a little different, i would say definitely a little past medium heat in a 6.... too low and you have light, non-crispy, and uncooked middles. Too high and you have really browned outsides and not enough time to cook.
Its 2022 I hope u see this I hope u live a good life God bless u amen ♥️
you as well!
Do I have to heat griddle or pan before putting the butter on?
Yes. otherwise your oil/butter will burn. Heat pan first, once hot, oil/spread butter, and pour batter. Enjoy!
im going yo become the PANCAKE GOODDDDDD
You will! ☺
Can I use an electric skiller?
Yes!
That's what she's doing in the video
Been cooking pancakes on cast iron griddles and skillets sixty yrs, never had a pancake stick
That's because you've got a well seasoned cast iron skillet! I know you'd never make pancakes in a stainless steel (un coated and unseasoned) pan...
Make sure they’re thick though
i love you
I'm 15, and i cook for myself my only problem is trying to figure out how much mix i should pour. The pancakes come out very big.
Start with about 2 tablespoons (30ml) up to 1/4 cup (60ml). I hope this helps!
1st-2nd time I make pancakes = Awful results. I used your video on my 3rd time and now they're perfect, thank you for the tutorial
I’m so glad you found it helpful!! Here is to many 🥞 mornings!!
How about oiling the griddle?
You can use oil, I prefer butter. It tastes better and doesn't smell.
So if the middle don't have bubbles but the middle don't and if the edges are forming the pancake is almost ready to flip...*cut to a finished pancake????*.....when is it ready to flip??????
When the edges are forming and you see the bubbles on top, it's ready to be flipped.
It is ok to cook pancake without putting butter in the pan ?
Its going to stick if u dont use butter
Some kind of oil works too
I 😊😊o😊
😊
My pancakes burn 10 seconds after pouring the batter and I even have it on low heat. No idea what to do.
Are the pancakes burning or is it that your butter or oil is burnt?. Heat pan first. Once hot, add butter or oil and immediatly pour batter. Hope this helps!
I make pancakes, sometimes they good, sometimes they not.
My first pancake is always perfect and the rest are black? What I'm doing wrong
have u found a solution? i am having the same problem
@@chimeneyt nope I just make french toast now much easier
your first pancake is perfect and the rest seems to be burned.. maybe the pan's too hot?
Guys it's easy 😭😭😭
@@iblivs21 that's why you gotta throw more butter on it so that it doesn't burn these guys are amateurs 😭😭😭🤦🏽♂️
why aren't you more known!!
Thank you 😊
It my first time to make pancake it's breaking
Is it the batter? Are you using a non stick pan and oil or butter?
How to make chocolate chips pancakes
ooooh yes. use this recipe and add chips to the batter.
You said flip the one you put on the pan first but you flipped the last one first
We do a lot of takes and angels. probably didn't match the verbal timing in editing.
non stick is cheating - do a cast iron version. It will test your skill
I love a good pancake on a cast iron skillet - but lots of people don't have them, so I wanted to show how to do it, using what most people already have in their kitchen :)
My daughter is dairy free allergic to casein and allergic to egg yokes.
In that case, this recipe www.momables.com/gluten-dairy-free-vegan-pancakes/ might be a good one for you or this one: www.laurafuentes.com/pancakes-without-eggs/ using dairy-free milk. Enjoy!
My pancake is absolutely mangled from me flipping it
This happens usually one of two reasons: your batter was too thin, it was flipped too early. Was your spatula big enough?
@@MOMables I guess not
How do I flip pancakes without making a mess all over the pan, stove, ceiling, floor, my clothes, and the neighbor's cat?
This lady:
Me: Riiiight...
So, how do you flip em?
I've got one solution. Better pancakes faster:
Use the waffle iron 💪🏻😎🤙🏻
Trouble there is I usually make too much batter which comes oozing out halfway through the cook
Also, this lady is gorgeous
Well thank you for the compliment! If i ever quit my job.... I am opening up a pancake house. Also, the waffle iron overflowing on the sides happens to me too ALL.THE.#$%@.TIME. Thus why I make pancakes. Easier cleanup!
@@MOMables my pancakes are literally as I described
I Burnt my pancakes
shoot! try lowering the heat next time.
I don’t appreciate you making a video on how to make pancakes correctly…by showing us how to make them incorrectly. All of those were white . No brown
That depends on how you like them.
@@MOMables you should’ve just showed how to make golden pancakes as you described
"Pancakes are defnitely meant to be made for non stick-pans", that is laughably incorrect. Restaurants make them in stainless steel and cast iron. I myself use stainless steel, it cooks them faster and more evenly than non-stick.
You can definitely use other methods/pans, but I've found non-stick to be the easiest for the average pancake maker. Especially for first timers! :)
@@MOMables Well that is true. My first time using stainless steel I burnt the pan and the cake. But I think its worth learning how to use metal pans because they heat more evenly and last longer.
