I am lucky enough to be on holidays and watching you poolside. I laughed out loud whilst watching your video today, at both you added text commentary and then your mishaps, because I can so relate! 🤣🤣. I am sure everyone would have been surprised to know it was a card making video I was watching. Thanks for the laugh and the sharing your lovely card, loved the colour combo.
To say I'm a slow card maker is an understatement! So many ideas and then changes, and more ideas. A whole afternoon is gone and I might finally have one card to show for it. Good thing I'm not a You Tube creator, I'd bore everyone to death wondering if I was ever going to have a finished card!
@@czdesign People shock me! Even if you think something is boring, just move on. You don't need to be rude. But you aren't boring! You're the real deal
I couldn’t make a ‘fast’ card if my life depended on it !! Mainly because I change my mind, then I can’t find something and then I get distracted by something else entirely !!! Slow card makers unite, I say ! 😂🤣😂
I'm the same 😂 I had a great idea this week for a card & started playing with techniques for it, got distracted watching UA-cam videos and ended up making a mini album instead 🙄😂 My friend who came to visit me for the week asked me last night how the card was going...my reply was, Oh yeah I forgot about that 😂😂😂
Thank you, Cathy! My friends laugh that I am such a slow card maker. I’ve always felt bad about being so slow, but I do enjoy the process and enjoy letting creativity take me where it will.
I am 100% a slow card maker. I tend to make changes part way through the process and will start over. Once I get in a groove though I’m as happy as a clam and thoroughly enjoy taking my time. 😊
Thanks so much for sharing the mishaps - helpful, educational and hilarious! (I was rolling with laughter when you laid your magnetic mat on top of the die set)
I stew over my imagined design, pouring over my AirTable inventory photos, and referencing my Pinterest categories. Then when I’m clear on my design, I get to it. I make around 1000 cards each year for personal and charity. So, there are almost always designs swirling around my brain. Love all your inspiration! 🩷
Great save on the card. I love the painted background; I never get it right so I’ll try your technique. The bride-to-be will love this. (oh those dies!😅)
Great card! I am definitely a slow crafter…I’m learning to just enjoy the process, and not pressure myself to go fast. Also…I Laughed Out Loud when your dies stuck to the magnet from your Empress….I can’t tell you how many times that has happened to me!
I also am a sllllloooow card maker😄 and can spend hours choosing colours/design, ink blending, die cutting, assembling etc. In my opinion our cards are like mini works of art, and like artists the process of creating is part of what we love. Thank you for sharing your designs and your love Cathy ❤
Beautiful card. I must admit I laughed out loud when you had some of your layering frames stuck on your magnetic mat. Too funny, but I love watching you create.
I'm one of those slow card makers. I love all the inspiration you and other designers post because what takes me the longest time is deciding colors, products I want to use. Time just flies when I'm in my craft room!
I’ve never really understood the desire for fast cards, but then, I have a lot of time to craft. I’m all about enjoying the process! Thanks for this video.❤
Had to chuckle with the worded commentary! Great recovery and such a nice card. I’m more of a mass production kind of card maker (I donate 100’s of cards a year) so I work in batches. When I do just make a single card, I tend to take my time and make the card special and enjoy the process.
I am definitely a slow card maker. I only have a partial plan going in when I make a card. I love how you were able to save your card despite some of the obstacles that you ran into. You did a great job.
I am also a slow card maker. I have to try multiple papers, stamps, etc. and usually end up with a finished project I like better than what I "planned".
OMG! You make cards like I do! Formulate a plan, compile supplies, start with good intentions, pause, change something, pause...stop...FIX something 🙄...regroup, incorporate the fix into the new design...VOILA!!🤷🏻♀️ A card is born!🥳
Your card turned out great. So darned cute! ❤ I am a slow card maker but I am okay with that. I had years of practice being a slow scrapbooker. The joy is in the creative process, really. Today I made a layout for the first time in almost half a year, and it did not suck, even though I fussed and stuck and unstuck things for hours. It was fun and I loved the finished (not a card) project.
When I’m trying something new or designing something new I’m slow as molasses. However once I get the card how I like it I can replicate it varying colors quickly.
I was laughing with your running commentary, that’s the sort of thing that happens to me all the time! I just spent an afternoon gluing diecuts to a background, and no the card is not finished, lol. Thank God for UA-camrs like yourself that give me a starting point, otherwise nothing would get done. Very pretty CAS card even if it wasn’t so CAS to make!
Love the colors! I'm definitely a slow card maker, too. I don't like to rush. I feel like it jams up my creativity. I don't usually like the end result when I do either. I find it relaxing to just take my time
I just made my first card yesterday using heat transfer vinyl and foil on my cricut and it turned out pretty good. I hope my daughters teacher likes it
Cathy, I love how you just keep plugging along. The icing was the magnets! All I could think was "Poor Cathy. What next?" I love watching you. I always enjoy your videos. Thanks so much for sharing with us.💙💜💚
Beautiful card and a great save! I really appreciate that you showed how you solved the problem. I tend to stop, discard the card, and start again. I am a slow card maker and enjoy my crafting time. I mostly make individual cards except at Christmas when I make multiples of the same card.
I'm so glad you saved the card! It can be so disheartening when you think you've finished a card and you see something that you can't unsee! I love your videos x
Love your videos, Cathy. I love the simplicity of the design. I rarely think about using such small stamps, but you have shown how great it can look. I was thinking to make a wedding card and use the brides colors for the background colors. Wouldn’t that look awesome. Thanks for all you do!
Being new to cardmaking, I am slow also. I start with the mindset that I know what im going to do.. low & behold... I done change ideas like 2 times. I'm glad I caught this video.
That was fun to watch. Great card too. I also have the technology to create this card. What did I learn today? Have fun and that liquid adhesive remover is a miracle product. Thanks for the share, look forward to your next card sesh 👉
I always take longer than expected when making a card. I had a similar issue with metallic paper…I was heat embossing a greeting after glueing to silver card stock. Had no idea that I was too close and the heat changed the silver it came color! So I improvised and added some pearls to cover it up! Came out great! Your card turned out beautiful!
Cathy, thank you for showing us this process, wrinkles & all. It's easy to assume we are the only one who has these things happen. Crafting can be messy, but oh so rewarding! ❤
I have to agree with your analogy of “it takes as long as it takes”. I’m not trying to mass produce cards…..I usually only make one to two cards that are exactly the same and that is because I usually give one of the two to my mother who loves to send out cards. I’m just trying to have fun. It’s been suggested many times that I should sell the cards I make to recoup craft supply costs but that would turn my hobby into a job and would ruin my fun. 😎
I am definitely not fast. Unfortunately, I am not creative so I am quicker at buying supplies that I never use than I am making cards. Sometimes, I need a card and just say, nope. Beautiful card!
I love this card. I definitely want to create something similar I also appreciate your showing how you saved this card - I try to save as much as possible.
Oh dear sweet CZ! Thank the Lord for you! I’ve done the same error as you did. Added bonus when you can salvage the top layer. Caught the replay. I started ukulele lessons today. Years ago I played the guitar but now with rheumatoid arthritis I just can’t do it. Cords on the Ukulele are much easier. Love ya girlfriend.❤
Thank you for sharing. You have a good eye. The wider border made a big difference. I didnt know of the product that took the tape off. I always learn something new from you. 😁🌸
That’s a pretty card! 😍 I love that you keep the mistakes in. It’s a constant reminder that we don’t have to be perfect. ❤ It also shows that you are human and not an AI or robot designer. 😂
I love everything about this card - including the journey to get there!! I sometimes think I spend more time fixing things and changing course than I do actually making the card. 😄
Great save of your beautiful card today!!! I never knew about this product, so my mistakes usually get tossed out or put in an oops box to maybe do something different.😂
I’m making my daughter‘a graduation card (with some CZ designed stamps and stencils). So far, over 16 hours in and estimate another 2-3 before it’s finished 😊.
I took apart an entire shaker card once. It was a mini slimline with three different shaker windows. I did it because I decided I wanted to color in the background and I just couldn’t let it go. 🤣
I totally agree about taking my time making a card. I have SO many no need for quantity but the relaxing effect of creativity is my goal! Lovely set and card, Cathy!
This was a great video. So many of us experience the same thing and it's good to know that it can be salvaged and it's not the end of the world. Thanks Cathy for sharing. This simple card style is such a great layout. --Kristin
I don't think I have ever had an inner Picasso. (LOL) And yes it takes me forever to make decisions and change my mind. Thanks for the help Cathy. Love your stamp and paint cards. Much more down my alley.
I am grateful that you leave missteps in your videos. It is nice to know that even experienced card makers need to take a minute and re-think sometimes. It makes it much less intimidating. Thank you!
Thank you for creating this, because many times I have felt like I am no good at this because I take too long to make a card. Makes me feel better that I am not alone, LOL!! Love the card and all the tips for when you mess up and what to do to salvage the card

Thanks so much for sharing the mishaps - helpful, educational and hilarious! (I was rolling with laughter when you laid your magnetic mat on top of the die set)
