Hi Julia. I have to be honest. When you first started in, I thought, oh no what a hot mess. I should have had a little faith cuz it turned out great. Thanks so much for a very cool demo. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
What a fun technique! I was a bit concerned about the ink dragging with the different colors then the black but this turned out fantastic. Thank you for sharing this technique and beautiful card 8:55 with all of us. A great way to use up scraps.😊
I am simply amazed how this card came out from those random scraps! It's gorgeous!! And now another technique I will have to try with scraps! I have no idea how you come up with these ideas but this one is a great one!
You are so welcome Kathleen! I almost stopped with the turquoise, but really like the triple ink better. It covers more and make the outcome much more interesting.
Terrific outcome to what could have been trash. I've never seen scraps used in the same manner result in such an interesting and amazing card. The sentiment fits the card to a "t". Thanks for another inspiration technique.
Hi Carmelina! This is always a fun technique. Ink drag adds an element that changes everything and it's always a bit different so you can be surprised every time!
Julie! That is an amazing technique using scraps. It’s definitely new to me. 😊 I have quite a bit of patterned paper scraps, already cut into varying lengths and widths, that would be great for this technique. Thanks so much for sharing it with us!❤❤❤
Love both card fronts, but today's is SUPERB! Gonna try one soonest. I have tons of bags full of scraps. Thought of tossing some of them but I just can't do that. Want some? You would be able to make make many projects, for a long while. Love the way you think! Your ideas and use of scraps are wonderful. Elaine Bedigian
Your ideas for changing the look of your scraps is quite awesome. I liked the blue color he'd in the beginning and I wonder how it would look with different shades of blue hues or red or purple used. Hmmm?
Oh yes that turquoise is absolutely my fave! And it played well with the lemonlime green too. But other colors would be very interesting too. Let's try some more!!!
Your cards are so impressive, Julia! You totally turn what could be trash into a treasured card. Thank you! A couple quick questions: what brand of foam tape do you use, and from where do you get it?
Thanks Christine! I have used this tape from amazon for years. I mount it on release paper (left over from lables) and custom cut it. www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07VZFBTQP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Thanks Patty! I think ink drag can cover up all kinds of stuff and it adds so much more interest. You find yourself drawn in slowly and then realize - Oh there are images on that paper!
Hi there Julia, when you started making this background I was wondering where you were going to go with it, because it started to look like a hot mess with bits of scrap paper going in every direction. But having faith in your skills as a seasoned card maker you did not disappoint. The ink dragging technique was very interesting, and I loved the colour that it made. Can I ask by dragging the yellow colour after the blue, does the blue ink contaminate the yellow ink pad? It all changed for me after you added the gold pen and spatters of gold, my mind started going off in all directions with what you could do with this interesting card background. I could see this background as a Christmas card with a die cut Christmas tree in gold cardstock. Speaking of Christmas cards, I have almost completed my Christmas cards for this coming Christmas season. I have shocked myself to say the least as I usually only start making them in late October/ November. As per usual they are all Christian themed again this year. I might try and attempt to do some other Christmas cards as well just to play around with watercolours and Christmas papers that I have in my stash. Will have to think about that!!! Have a blessed day, and with lots of love and hugs from your Aussie friend. 🤗🎨🌲🩷
Hi Gloria - I thought exactly the same thing about the Christmas card, only I thought it would be interesting to cut the tree out of the background. Oh FUN!!!!! I am delighted you are almost finished with Christmas cards already ... Life has stalled mine, but I will get back to it soon. God Bless you My Friend!
Hi Julia. I have to be honest. When you first started in, I thought, oh no what a hot mess. I should have had a little faith cuz it turned out great. Thanks so much for a very cool demo. ❤ 🇨🇦 😊
I know - Right?! But it doesn't seem to matter how bad it starts, these turn out great for some reason...
Fantastic, I love how you turn scraps into beautiful cards!
I always amazes me when I do an ink drag like this, just how beautiful the ugly becomes!
What a fun technique! I was a bit concerned about the ink dragging with the different colors then the black but this turned out fantastic. Thank you for sharing this technique and beautiful card 8:55 with all of us. A great way to use up scraps.😊
Thanks Morgaine! This technique really gets inky, but the results are always interesting, considering the starting point . . .

Hi Janet - I know - Right?! It's amazing what ink drag can do - it never disappoints!!
I am simply amazed how this card came out from those random scraps! It's gorgeous!! And now another technique I will have to try with scraps! I have no idea how you come up with these ideas but this one is a great one!
Hi Maureen - I'm not sure you can fail with this card. But it sure is ugly to start with huh?!
Amazing card using the leftover scraps and rubbing an ink pad across the scraps.
Great technique and thanks for sharing it.
Glad you enjoyed it! The gold pen really adds a lot too!
WOW!!! I've made scrap cards before but never done the ink dragging. Thanks for the inspiration!!! Have a GREAT week!!!
You are so welcome Kathleen! I almost stopped with the turquoise, but really like the triple ink better. It covers more and make the outcome much more interesting.
This would make a beautiful front to a post card. Great job. Love watching you craft😊
Great idea! I think there are lots of things that could be done with it. You could emboss it before inking too...
It is stunning! What an interesting way to use scraps. This would be a perfect background for masculine cards.
I agree! I also thought about die cutting it ... lots of possibilities!!
Gorgeous card. Can’t wait to try this technique! Thank you Julia.
You are so welcome. Don't think about it too much or it messes you up...
Susie that technique is so fabulous I love the finished look. tfs Kathy from Sydney Australia ❤️
G'Day Kathy! I wish you could see the gold sparkle - it really adds a lot to the finished card. And ink drag is just a wonderful scrap buster.
Amazing results from just a few scraps. Love it❤
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it.
Terrific outcome to what could have been trash. I've never seen scraps used in the same manner result in such an interesting and amazing card. The sentiment fits the card to a "t". Thanks for another inspiration technique.
Glad you enjoyed it these are really ugly to start with, but it doesn't seem to matter at all. In the end they are really amazing.

LOL - I think I will have to pass on the offer of scraps LOL - Goodness I think I have them all used and I swear they are like rabbits...
@@SeniorSusieStamps I know! They add up so fast. Stll...I can't just throw them away., 'cause somewhere out there, there's a person who NEEDS them.

On the drag, I only use just the edge of the ink pad, and it doesn't seem to pick up ink. It usually dries up between colors.
😮❤
Thanks Caroline!!
Julia, I love your videos! I can't wait to try this! This feeds my strip obsession! 🌹
Oh Gosh Vicki - I am so glad I am not the only one with a strip obsession!! LOL
There are worse obscessions, right? 😊
