    Fact dose :
Caldas da Rainha is a Portuguese city in the district of Leiria , with around 30,400 inhabitants in its urban perimeter.
It is also municipality with an area of 255.69 km² and 50,917 inhabitants, subdivided into 12 parishes .
The city's name, often shortened to simply "Caldas", can be translated as "Queen's Hot Springs", "Queen's Spa", or "Queen's Baths".
The city is located north of Lisbon (93.5 km via A8 ) and southwest of Coimbra (128 km via A1 / IC36 / A8 ). From Lisbon about 1 hour drive.
Caldas da Rainha is known for its rich history and thermal springs.
It was founded by Queen Leonor in the 15th century.
City is famous for its ceramic art, particularly its colorful pottery.
Caldas has rich cultural scene, with museums and galleries showcasing local artists.
And one of the city highlights is the oldest operating thermal hospital in the world. Well, I couldn't bokk any treatments but if you are interested in that, book in advance : 262240012 👌
City center with charming streets and squares lined with traditional shops and cafes.
Other of the main attractions is the Praça da Fruta, a bustling market square. The only daily vegetable and fruit market in the country takes place every day, in the morning, outdoors, practically unchanged since the end of the 19th century .
Municipality is located on the stunning Silver Coast, offering beautiful beaches and coastal scenery.
Architecture reflects royal heritage, with elegant buildings and churches.
Visitors can learn about the city's history at the Museu José Malhoa and the Museu do Hospital e das Caldas.
Caldas da Rainha is known for its lively atmosphere, especially during the summer months.
Whether you're interested in history, art, or simply enjoying the natural beauty, Caldas da Rainha has something for everyone. [Internet 🫡]
P.S. I mixed up the park name, it is not Dom Luis but Dom Carlos 👌

I appreciate the fact that these videos are never scripted or planned out in advance - at least it has an organic feel. Really informative video.

The pavilions in the park were constructed in the late 1800 as a place for recreation. Visitors for the thermal spas/hospital could stay in the pavilions and use the park for relaxation and recreation. Later on the pavilions were used by the army, the police, the local newspaper, for education/schooling as well as for exhibitions by the Caldenses. The plan is to restore the buildings and make them into a 5-star hotel hosted by the Visibeira Group, the company that now owns the ceramic brand Bordalo Pinheiro that was founded in Caldas da Rainha. Sadly the building caught on fire last year demolishing one of the roof tops but they intend to restore it when starting to work on the hotel project.

It is a medicional water hospital. There are others hospitals like this, but modern ones, in Portugal. O termo Caldas da Rainha refere-se à existência de águas termais usadas pela Rainha D.Leonor, esposa de D. João II, que aqui fundou em 1488 um hospital, que também subsidiou. Caldas da Rainha é cidade desde 1927.
