(+ A lot of interesting skyscrapers) Guadalajara: amazing cultural scene and a really beautiful city centre. The architecture really stands out here. San Miguel de Allende: just Google it and it's self explainatory. :)

Aww that's nice to know the South American team is so hard-working :') Yey, I got to see my city! 8:32 I didn't remember where this was bc, not gonna lie, your accent is pretty hard to understand hahaha so I only got that it was my state. So sent it to my father who loves architecture and knows this city inside out, and he guessed immediately! He actually lived a long time ago in that taller building that is an iconic popular build by the famous architect Oscar Niemeyer! My mom also immediately guessed it haha.
You guys should do more for the northeastern region of Brazil! It's probably one of the most diverse regions of the country, and has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world (there's literally a beach near Canoa Quebrada - Ceará that has silver-colored sand!), as well as other natural paradises such as the Lençois Maranhenses - Maranhão and some great monuments, like the Padre Cícero Statue in my city, Juazeiro do Norte - Ceará, which is almost as tall as Christ the Redeemer! And don't even get me started on the cities. Just take a look at Fortaleza - Ceará, João Pessoa - Paraíba, Maceió - Alagoas and Natal - Rio Grande do Sul and you'll know what i mean!
as a person who was born in São Paulo and is currently living here as well. This city is so fucking huge that I can't even... I'm an architectural student, and this big boy of a metropolitan area has a TON of city plans, it was, for the most part, planned and unplanned, the unplanned part is actually deliberate. And I say that because we cant forget that Brazil has the largest African population outside of the African continent, slavery hit our nation very hard. And our cities design differs from that of south Africa, India, or any other nation who has had an social apartheid system based on race inequality. Our apartheid has grown WITH the development of the city in its structure, so the city is VERY well design to keep the poorest residents in the suburbs without the need for a direct force interfering (but yes the state also plays a roll in it, because the police is used by the state a.k.a: the rulling class, to oppress the poor, the black and any other minority). This makes our city very unique in terms of demography and life expectancy. In some neighborhoods in the city, specialty in the new downtowns (we have a first historic downtown, that is the city core BUT is currently a bad place for living, and the new ones who were build by gentrification during the 90's and 2000's and are the new financial, arts, and so on downtowns) so... In these new downtowns, life expectancy can go as high as a first world country such as Switzerland, with a very rich and bougie elite. In other neighborhoods, pretty much the rest of the city, life expectancy is low and stuff, but there are some neighbors and slums with very low life expectancy, all of that happening as further you go from the city's core. When it comes to transportation, our city is actually pretty chill??? (Compared to other cities in south America and the Us lol) We have a massive public system in the city, that expands from subways, railways, bus lines and so on. So it's "easy" to get in one place to another, but don't expect it to be like the Chinese public system because we are Very far from it. I'm not trying to deceive you, this city was stupidly made for the automobile, but the working class still made some efforts to make our lives a bit tolerable. Anyway this is São Paulo in a nutshell, hope you enjoyed byeee
The true Downtown of Sao Paulo really is georgous tho, great mix of architectural style (gotta love the amazing Altino arantes) as well as lots of pedestrian roads and street art. I would love to see it !
@@vanaox3690 it issssss, but unfortunately its being neglected throughout the years, and most of its buildings are under intense financial speculation. So things are a bit problematic around there
São Paulo is the city with the greatest amount of buildings in the entire world, there are more than 45.000 buildings, followed by Tokyo with something around 35 to 37 thousands.
As an American that lived in Brazil for years it makes me so happy that you talked about Brazilian history. Too often people lump all of south America together to the point where people think Brazil speaks Spanish. The jungle cruise movie was a great example of just ignoring Brazilian culture.
Can't wait to see Curitiba getting developed! We are Europe inside Brazil, its so awsome to see how diferent Parana and the south is to the rest of the brazillian states!
It's very nice to see that not only you're bulding São Paulo, but you are learning something about it, history and culture, very nice, thanks for this.
Apart from Greater São Paulo, after that they are normal cities. In the interior of the state it really is incredible, you leave the center of São Paulo and go to the interior of the state, and it is an extreme change of scenery.
I'm a Brazilian, thank you very much for this video. You show the buildings, explain the history behind them and do all this with enthusiasm. That's really incredible. Such an amazing video, congratulations.

I hope some day i find time and skill to help theses amazing builders...
Great video, but, as a brazilian, i have some things to tell 1. That "Military Dictatorship" thing is a little more complex than that. João Goulart was making some uncomfortably "socialist" decisions, and the people didn't like it at all. Due to the pressure from crowds in the streets (Marcha da Família com Deus pela Liberdade), Goulart resigned and, with the support of the people, the military occupied the presidency, which was *vacant* (if it was vacant, it wasn't a coup). The left wing in Brazil created the narrative that it *was* a coup, and that is was bad, but in reality they exaggerated it. The only ones "persecuted" were leftist guerrillas, terrorists and communists who tried to fight the government and participated in subversive behavior (amongst them, Lula da Silva and Dilma Rousseff. If you know, you know). If you weren't communist, or a terrorist, you would live your life normally. In fact, the crime rate at the time was very low. Because of the leftist narratives, it isn't hard to find a lot of brazilians that say things like "it was the darkest time in brazilian history" and disparage who says otherwise, when it wasn't actually what happened. In resume, the military went like "Communism? Get the heck outta here". And the left-wing went like "Noooo, this is an attack on freedom of speech and other types of freedom!" 2. Tiradentes doesn't deserve to be a "nacional hero". He did participate in the planning of a "revolution" against Portugal, only because of the high taxes. He would have been forgotten if, after the Republican Coup that ended the Empire of Brazil, the republicans didn't desperately try to create heroes for the new republic. They chose him just because he "died for the revolution", when he was just some random subversive that was executed. I dont know if anyone will read this, but if you did, congrats! You are properly informed!
Its crazy to thing that i live near petrolandia and you talked about the church (which it is an gorgeous plane to visit) its mind blowing, please come to northeast Brazil, we have amazing canyons and places to explore in wild nature ❤

As a Brazilian who has visited São Paulo, i can confirm it's VERY huge, so much so that scientists believe that in the future it might merge with Rio De Janeiro.

I'm so glad you actually addressed the history of Brazil and the dictatorship. The US/CIA did that all over South America at the time including Chile where they put the Fascist Pinochet in power.
The Yanks sure liked their Bananas
As a Brazilian from São Paulo, I can honestly say how impressed I am. Not only by the effort to rebuild the country but the effort to actually research and accurately understand Brazil’s history. It is clear that a lot of research has been done and, unlike many US interpretations of life in Brazil, this video did not rely on false stereotypes.
Congrats😃
I love when foreigners get amazed by the skyscrapers here, because for us is like "what? That's just a common 25 floor building, it isn't even that tall"
As a brazillian, it makes me really happy that someone is willing to research about our country, and discover the increadible places and culture it has. Thank you for sharing with your community!
I wonder how build the world will deal with Mary King's close in Edinburgh. (It's a street that is sort of underground. They built a building over the street but kept the street)
Mysteries about Rio de Janeiro i found my self and told only a couple friends, in the subway lines, between stations, you can see a little altar and a statue of Mary, all lit up. In fact, I found 2 of these in different places. Im still looking for more since i ride the subway everyday. It is hard to see although, you need to know the spots. I Wish I could talk to someone to see them closely, and maybe write a documentary about them, it fascinates me. It must been built together with the subway line.
bro it's soo good seeing a gringo talking about your hometown, and you know that inside is even bigger, like some areas like Avenida Paulista is literally a mini Times square, the center of the city is literally a mini gothan with everything depreciated and mostly abandoned, the periferic areas that are mostly all favelas, and all the immigrant districts that are totally different cultures inside the city
Braaaaaaaaaaaziiiiil 🇧🇷🇧🇷 Love your channel now I am from brazil and love your videos
Its so strange and even sad to see a guy who discovered the city recently knows more about the Brazilian history than most people here... There are a LOT of people who swear the Dictatorship never happened.. a lot of people who WANT IT HAPPEN AGAIN... its sad to live here sometimes..

Hi! here are my suggestions in Mexico if you ever plan building in it:
Mexico city: literally ton of interesting stuff you could build here. Vibrant af. Filled to the brim with highrises and as far as I know with s huge Minecraft community.
Puebla: in my opinion the most aesthetically pleasing city in Mexico, nestled within three volcanoes, with the biggest pyramid (and monument) in the world and modern and colonial areas. (+ A lot of interesting skyscrapers)
Guadalajara: amazing cultural scene and a really beautiful city centre. The architecture really stands out here.
San Miguel de Allende: just Google it and it's self explainatory.
:)
As a southern Brazilian from the state of Paraná, this is pretty much Brazil. Although here in the south, the culture, ethnicities, and development differ from the rest of Brazil.

i've learned more about my country's past here than in my history class. Btw I loved how you used some brazilian songs throughout the video while you were talking about the buildings.
eu nunca vi uma pessoa de fora falando sobre esse tipo de coisa que pouca gente conhece sobre o meu país, ótimo video!
Thanks for the video, as a Brazilian who doesn't have time, courage, or experience for a project like this but loves Minecraft, I was actually pretty curious to know what you guys have done for Brazil! Aww that's nice to know the South American team is so hard-working :')
Yey, I got to see my city!
I've born in São Paulo, so I loved this video, thanks
Unbelievable, clicked for a brazillian build spotlight and here you are showing our nasty history out

Incredible video, very good diction of words in Portuguese and phenomenal history class. What a nice video
As a Brazilian, I can confirm that this is the coolest thing I've seen in Minecraft.
This is mind blowing
It's so interesting seeing somewhere you recognize built in minecraft. Incredible video and project :)
this is lovely! amazing project
as a person who was born in São Paulo and is currently living here as well.

É nada, São Paulo é bem pouco conhecida na internet, ignorância sempre reinou no mundo.
Vou fazer uma pergunta, você conhece Daca?
0:09 even Mexico City is bigger than New York (2nd in the Americas. Biggest in North America)

Ó primeiro salve
Great video, but, as a brazilian, i have some things to tell
1. And the left-wing went like "Noooo, this is an attack on freedom of speech and other types of freedom!"
Lambe bota de milico
