the reason the ender pearl passes through somtimes (from what ive figured out) is because of how ticks work. one tick, the pearl is on one side of the portal, and then the other, on the other side of the portal, because of its speed. this means it was never really "inside" the portal, meaning it doesnt teleport to the nether.

*If you are wondering why the End Crystal thing is impossible to replicate in the Overworld or Nether...*
In the new pre-release, End Crystals explode immediately when contacting a fire block (because they ignite), and End Crystals placed in the End automatically place a fire block, igniting the End Crystal.
*Case in point:* In the Overworld or Nether, try placing an End Crystal in such a way that said End Crystal intersects a fire block.
What's probably happening is that they changed something with it, and forgot to give it fire damage immunity- so the fire instantly damages it and makes it explode
so end crystal fights are still viable

I only play Bedrock and I wasn't aware that this wasn't in Java until now. It's extremely useful, not just for transporting villagers, but also just generally leading multiple boats while boating.
You can also use fishing rods on boats to transport villagers.

@@NeonPuro Knife goes in guts come out, knife goes in guts come out.
I think the reason the pearl is occasionally not going through is because entities teleport each tick, they don't actually move slowly. The smooth movement is interpolation. One tick the pearl is on one side of the portal and in the next next it is on the other side. Pearls usually check for to make sure they aren't block skipping, but ignore non-collide blocks. The portal is one such block.
That would explain why it only happens in certain angles
I guess the interpolation explains why Enderman teleportation looks the way it does.
@@ConcavePgonsYes that’s why you can see them for a few frames during a teleport.
Seems like an easy enough fix then, add an extra collision step for non-collides.
Bedrock overworld became a jack stauber reference lmfao
There’s an actual way to stop the rain. You just have to set the weather to rain even though it is raining, and then you do the weather clear command.
This is a great video, but have you tried placing an end crystal in survival. I'm sure there is nothing wrong with them and behave as intended, but for some reason I feel as if something will happen when you place an end crystal.

The reason why the pearl phases through the portal sometimes might be because it never touches the portal at any in game tick. One tick its just before the portal and the next tick its position is just beyond the portal.
Same reason why the pearl teleported you twice when thrown at a steep angle. As soon as it crosses the portal it stays in the portal frame for another tick on the other side, teleporting you back.

2:05 this isn’t a snapshot bug, it’s been around for a while. When the projectiles velocity is calculated each tick, the game will move the projectile forward by the velocity each tick. Since it isn’t smoothly moving forward but rather teleporting along each tick, sometimes it might teleport between something. Mojang has fixed this for blocks with solid collision (so you can’t shoot arrows through iron bars) but for blocks like the nether portal, the projectile still might pass through without hitting the actual block. It’s an extremely old bug, but as of this new enderpearl change, I bet they are gonna fix it in prerelease 2.
It’s not even a Minecraft specific thing, it’s just a phenomenon with video games in general (assuming they don’t have extra code to counteract it)

3:18 i think it works better if the portal is high up because sometimes it doesn’t fully loud out the ender pearl because it hasnt been coded to be very fast or coded to where it knows your throwing it through a portal and so it stays in the original world and hits something before it can be loaded out but when its activated then its possibly on a timer and would be a good way to trick others by throwing it and they throw theirs as well but yours stays in the over-world for longer and they get sent to the nether
Wait. Throw a pearl into a portal, it travels through the Nether, reaches another portal, travels back into normal world and voila you have a teleport
better yet, make it go to the end.

Same. A fine addition to my collection.
Imagine throwing an ender pearl through a portal, it gets sent in the nether, gets transported 100 blocks (dont ask me how, ask the redstone engineers), goes through another portal, and you manage to teleport instantly between 2 bases 800 blocks away by just throwing a pearl through a portal
They should make it so you can ride minecarts through nether portals seamlessly, so you actually continue driving on the rail in the nether. You could make cool rails and rollercoasters
"You passed out!" after being obliterated by molten rock
4:30 there are also options to use this without a timer. You can use cats to determine if a specific player is currently online and with that you can log out and in for teleportation. If you combine this with an Quantum Signal device (spitting out 4 items at the same time and see if the animation changes, quite complicated to explain), you can basicly teleport to station across your minecraft world. Only disadvantage is that you need to force load these stations, otherwise it won't work...
"I'm gonna feed them to the ender dragon"
In sync:"HUHH?!"
So... The Enderpearl cross-dimension teleporting is massive. This lets you use 0-tick Redstone Signals to hyperwarp across your world if you want. Just make 0-tick lines from each portal to every other portal, make it shoot an item through to load the chunk and trigger a Stasis Chamber, boom.
The perfect video. Ender pearl through portal, end crystals kill you, let's throw another end pearl through the portal, "did you know that end crystals kill you?", these end pearls are a little buggy going through portals, If you place an end crystal it will kill you.
6:41 "alright but now i'm taking them to the End because im gonna feed them to the ender dragon"

You can throw a pearl into the nether, then that pearl will go through another portal and since the ratio of the overworld and nether, you will have instant teleportation for farther lengths. Also can be used for secret bases or something

Could probsbly do some insane long distance travel with a line of portals in both overworld and nether so a single pearl will pass through multiple portals before it lands. Maybe could even extend the distance it goes using bubble columns
There is some survival strategies for ending up in lava.
Catstone to control the ender pearl stasis chamber in spawn chunks. (other comments have more details)
First get out of the lava then place a cauldron and then use a water bucket to put water in the cauldron and then get into the cauldron.

"You passed out" Lmao yeah right
this video feels like a fever dream
im sure it doesn't work sometimes because the speed of the pearl makes it travel so fast, it gets through the portal without actually touching the portal due to the low tick rate of the minecraft simulation.
Let's say the pearl travels 2 blocks every tick (20 ticks a second, 40 blocks per second). At some tick, the pearl is at Z=-0.5 relative to the portal (so right in front of it). Next tick, it is at Z=1.5, right past the portal. It never touched it, so you won't teleport through.
If my theory is correct, Mojang will likely increase the hitbox of the pearl when checking for portal blocks, or reduce the travel speed of the pearl.
