These table saw blade storage solutions were featured on the Woodsmith Shop, E408 - Blade & Bit Storage. In this video excerpt, the guys walk you through the construction on some of their favorite ways to store blades in their shops.
Finding a place to store all of the saw blades for a circular saw, miter saw, and table saw can be a problem. You needed to find a way to store them in an organized fashion and protect the carbide teeth from chipping. These easy-to-build storage systems protect your saw blades while also keeping them well organized.
The blade storage cabinet in this plan has pull-out trays to store a number of blades in a small space. And the blades nestle in custom cutouts in the trays to protect the teeth.

I like both ideas, and I’ll go with the “Slotted” idea. However, I’ll make mine half the size, and then stack them later..I only have a 9” Ryobi Bandsaw..it limits the size of my stock.
I'm going to make the slotted type because i have a place to hang it on the wall and I can see easily what i have. Thanks
That's the one we still have in our shop on the wall right next to table saw... works great.
we called double faced tape supervisor tape because of the 2 face
Wait, isn’t this the same dude that does the Kreg ACS videos as well?
He’s like the Jaime Escalante of woodworker education.
Why does this guy look a little like Tim The Tool man Taylor from the TV show Home Improvement? LOL
You didn`t say, do you turn off the bandsaw before you back the blade or no?
It doesn't look like Dave turned the band saw off when he backed it out of the cut, but it would probably be better if you did,
@@WoodsmithShowandmagazine I was taught to always turn the saw off if you have to back out of a long or curved cut. A relatively short, straight cut is safe to back out of while the saw is on. Just be sure to not turn/pivot the piece as you back the blade out.
Doug Moose - That is what I was taught too.
In defense of the folks at Woodsmith, I will say they have to gear their commentary to folks new to woodworking, that need the extra detail to complete their first projects successfully. There are also women starting out and lots of young people learning this craft via youtube. I know I would like everyone involved to succeed. We're all on the same team. Don
It would be nice to download the plans without giving you all my info, especially since there is nothing original about either plan. I try to keep my online presence to an absolute minimum. I also already subscribe to your magazine.
I get that - I'm the same way. I'm not sure why you have to give your e-mail to download the plan other than to set up an account, but if you're already a subscriber we'd have your e-mail for that anyways.
Great solutions but the commentarys a bit like you are talking to a three year old
Hey, 3 year-olds need to make storage for their table saw blades too! Yeah, this was probably geared more toward beginners. Also, this was shot and aired originally in 2010, so we will take that in to account when we are shooting new videos. Thanks for the input.
I was thinking the same...
I'd much rather watch woodworkers trying to act than actors trying to do woodworking.
Doug Moose - Maybe that’s why we haven’t been nominated for any Emmy awards yet. 😀
If it's above your highly educated minds, DON'T WATCH IT! Move on to something a little more in depth with your high level thinking process.
This is the most complex and inefficient use of space I have ever seen. Bad storage system. You can not see what is in each drawer. So you have to hunt for the one you want. Only a cabinet maker would think of this.
I hand all my blades on 4" long peg hooks on my pegboard with cardboard spacers between the blades. I organize them by diameter and by tooth count. I can immediately see what blade I want.
