Never throw things out just because you think it’s broke. Was in the market for a new drier. Then this 9 year old video pops up and solves all of my issues. My tensioner came out of its slot and threw the belt. Easy…easy fix. Thank you 9 year old video for being more than relevant today!! 🤘🏻

I went by a house with a vacuum out front. I knocked on the door and the guy told me that it just wasn't picking up anymore. So I took it home and took it apart and it was a little bit dirty, but that wasn't the problem the belt was broken. The belt was broken. Pissed me off but my roommate will have a new vacuum when she moves.

A few months ago, my dryer drum stopped spinning. I was frustrated and decided to pay for service from Sears. They replaced the belt for…$400+!! Today, I heard a loud grinding noise when I started the dryer and I said to myself, no way I’m paying for service without looking at it myself. Thanks to this video, I easily took the drum out and found the problem. It was an easy fix and saved me another stupid amount of money. Thank you!

Super helpful! We had a terrible squeaking noise and all that was needed was for the drum rollers (wheels and axle) to be wiped clean. Sounds fine now. You just saved me a bunch of money!

Thank you, I had to watch reassemble a2nd time as I missed the drum on top of the rollers. It took 2 minutes to put it back together. The instructions were clear, concise, and very easy to follow.

This was extremely good, took apart my washer and found about 8 bucks worth of change that fell out from between the drum and the felt on the door causing my grinding noise while running. Now that I know how it comes apart going to be so easy to fix in the future.

Thanks a million for this video! I thought my belt had broken but I guess that never happens. I was told also at work that the belt can become stretched and would then need to be replaced. Maybe it just came off the idler pulley I hope and so now that I know how to get in there I will just put the belt back on right and see what happens.

Our Whirlpool dryer stopped working. Drum would not turn, but it made noise. Could not figure out how to take the dryer apart. Started at the back, but could not see the drum. Tried toopen the top, but it would not open. Never saw the two screws in the lint compartment. So I watched this video, and all is good now. Replaced my broken belt, and dryer works again. Thanks AppliancePartsPros.

For accessing those fuses, is best to take off the front panels of my dryer, or go in from the back panel? None of the videos I've encountered showed how to take the top off my particular model (Whirlpool GGQ8811LW0). It's a newer model with lint filter in the door. There are two screws at the back of the plastic end panels that have to be removed to be able to swing the control panel up and back, exposing the three hex-head sheet metal screws that must be removed to allow the top to be slid forward for removal. After that, the procedure is the same as with other models to replace the door switch or rollers or drive belt.

When I opened the dryer to inspect the problem, I noticed that the pulley looked different without a wheel. Watching this video and saved me both money and time. A broken belt was the reason the drum was turning, I followed your instructions and now have a working dry once again. Thank you.

Our videos are generic videos to give you an idea of how the repair is completed. If your unit is a different model then it the repair steps could be slightly different.

Do you have a video on cleaning out the lint? On a 25 year old Kenmore dryer?

Question: what would cause water to condense in the vent hose? I just took apart my
whirlpool dryer (front and back) to clean out all the lint. I cleaned out the vent hose and the vent to the outside. some of the lint trapped in the vent hose was wet (not just damp, but you could wring water from it). I rinsed it out, cleaned it thoroughly and hung it up to dry. Then I reattached it to the dryer and the outside vent and ran the empty dryer on high for an hour and an no heat tumble for 30 minutes, alternating that 3 times. It then sat overnight. I thought it would be bone dry the next day, but when I uncoupled it from the dryer, there was about 1/2-1 cup of water in the hose and dripping out of the dryer vent in the back. This was an empty dryer!! What on earth caused this??? Is it just latent humidity from the air it's sucking in? Is there a way to prevent this? If it's happening regularly, no wonder my dryer gets stopped up so frequently.

If you cleaned all the lint out and have good air flow, that could just be condensation from the heat in the dryer.

@@appliancepartspros any idea how to prevent this?

The only thing to correct that would be to make sure the vent and cover is in good shape and keeping the lint cleaned out of the vent and blower wheel and housing so the air flow isn't restricted.
