Never throw things out just because you think it’s broke. Was in the market for a new drier. Then this 9 year old video pops up and solves all of my issues. My tensioner came out of its slot and threw the belt. Easy…easy fix. Thank you 9 year old video for being more than relevant today!! 🤘🏻
I went by a house with a vacuum out front. I knocked on the door and the guy told me that it just wasn't picking up anymore. So I took it home and took it apart and it was a little bit dirty, but that wasn't the problem the belt was broken. The belt was broken. Pissed me off but my roommate will have a new vacuum when she moves.
A few months ago, my dryer drum stopped spinning. I was frustrated and decided to pay for service from Sears. They replaced the belt for…$400+!! Today, I heard a loud grinding noise when I started the dryer and I said to myself, no way I’m paying for service without looking at it myself. Thanks to this video, I easily took the drum out and found the problem. It was an easy fix and saved me another stupid amount of money. Thank you!
You're welcome!
Thank you for this video. You showed me everything I needed to know to put my tensioner back in place without paying lots of money. Literally took longer to watch the video than fix the dryer!
Thank you for the help!! You saved us buying a new dryer and me worrying about it since I’m almost due for my baby! Thank god I found this video lol
Super helpful! We had a terrible squeaking noise and all that was needed was for the drum rollers (wheels and axle) to be wiped clean. Sounds fine now. You just saved me a bunch of money!
Thank you, I had to watch reassemble a2nd time as I missed the drum on top of the rollers. It took 2 minutes to put it back together. The instructions were clear, concise, and very easy to follow.
This was extremely good, took apart my washer and found about 8 bucks worth of change that fell out from between the drum and the felt on the door causing my grinding noise while running. Now that I know how it comes apart going to be so easy to fix in the future.
Glad the video helped you out!
Awesome information. Saved me at least 100 bucks for a service call if not more.
We newbies need exactly this! I thought I had to take apart the whole control board assy just to get at the drum, and it's designed to just flip out of the way. Screw sizes very helpful. THanks!
You're welcome!
I've had mine completely apart for over a year
Now I must remember how to REassemble.
I wish there was a video on that
I just wanted to say, this video and the presenter is so professional. Thank you for making this, you saved me money I hope I can return the favor someday.
You're very welcome! We're happy to help.
Thank you for your video, watching it helped me maintain my dryer ❤😊
After 10 years it is still working very well. +Kenmore+ @thanks 😅😊
This was close enough to my Kenmore Elite's configuration that I was able to remove the drum, clean out the critter nests that were inside and get it all back together. Thanks!
Awesome, glad you got the dryer up and running!
Such a good video. Perfect and simple instructions
This video helped me. Thank you.
Thanks a million for this video! I thought my belt had broken but I guess that never happens. I was told also at work that the belt can become stretched and would then need to be replaced. Maybe it just came off the idler pulley I hope and so now that I know how to get in there I will just put the belt back on right and see what happens.
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
This video was very helpful 👏 👌 thanks !!
Thanks. I just checked, cleaned and oiled the inside following these directions. Hopefully that takes care of the squeaks.
You're welcome! Happy to help!
Thanks for the video.
Belt had popped off the pulley and idle pulley and this video helped me fix it. :)
You're welcome! Happy we could help.
Helped me big time. Thanks
Thank you very much for this video. Took the guesswork out of opening my dryer. Much appreciated!
You're welcome!
This just saved my ass. Thank you for posting it.
You guys are great. Thanks so much for your help.
Glad the video helped you out!
Our Whirlpool dryer stopped working. Drum would not turn, but it made noise. Could not figure out how to take the dryer apart. Started at the back, but could not see the drum. Tried toopen the top, but it would not open. Never saw the two screws in the lint compartment. So I watched this video, and all is good now. Replaced my broken belt, and dryer works again. Thanks AppliancePartsPros.
Oh! A putty knife!!! I was so confused; thank you!!!
Exactly the info I was looking for, I know how to fix them, but there's allways a trick to getting in them without breaking little plastic clips! Well done!👍😷
Thank you soooo much for this video. I was having issues reassembling the Kenmore 80 series dryer, but this video is extremely helpful 🙌🏾❤
Glad you were able to fix your issue! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
that tensioner reminds me of the serpentine belt in my gm. Every time it rained, if I hit a mud puddle, the belt would come off.
Well done. Thanks.
First thing - put on gloves!!! The die-cut steel edges on driers are sharper than any kitchen knife I've ever owned.
found this out the hard way nice little gash on my hand
Susan Anne I should have read your comment first! Cuts on both thumbs from trying to lift the door back up on the clips!
Susan Anne HaHb
Found that out the hard way
You’re a GEM FOR POSTING THIS. THANK YOU SO MUCH. Saved me probably a couple hundred bucks to fix a $10 part. 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
Thank you for saving me money for a repairman! My dryer wasn't drying the clothes all the way and it desperately needed cleaned!
Thank God for UA-cam fix-its. Saved so much money doing things on my car and our dryer. My husband and I worked as a team on this one and now i won't hear him whining about how loud and squeaky it is. :)
Good tip at 1:00!
Thanks...another victory for the Forces of Light and Goodness over the Forces of Darkness and Appliances.
Wish folks did this with the new dryers not these old ones
This was an awesome educational video. Thanks to you, was able to fix my brothers dryer, that had a broken belt instead of having to pay someone or even more having to buy a new one.
Thank you. I think i can do this! I repaired my washer so I'll be able to this with your excellent instruction. Never stop learning.
Okay so how do you put the back on
great video
Glad the video helped you out!
I have a 1996 whirlpool and the front door does not look like this. I'm having trouble trying to attach it with from underneath with one latch. The other side hangs, making the whole thing uneven.
What is your model number?
Sam Hyde appliance repairs
Your afro is glorious!
I know, right? Rockin that glorious fro!
You're delusional. That's definitely not a "fro".
I had to watch the video twice because the first time I was only admiring the sweet fro
Just what I needed to get the top and front off - and then I could figure out the rest. Made $2.74 on the change I found in the bottom.
Glad we could help! And you made a little money back, too. :)
I got a whole bunch of change too, but I failed to count it. Glorious.
Thank you so much
What to do with the felt issue?
If you are needing to replace the felt seal on your dryer, here is a link to some videos that should help. If you have any other questions just let us know: www.youtube.com/@appliancepartspros/search?query=dryer%20felt
The top to a milk jug fell in the vent duct while the lint filter was removed. Is there any danger that the plastic can start a fire or create another problem?
+Robert R. Hood Probably best to take the duct off and get it out so there are no problems!
My dryer will only hum when pressing the start button. Any suggestions what the problem is? Serial # FO31 01559
Model # 7008210W00
Also I can not find a web site that recognizes these numbers to tell me how old it is. Can you help with that?
I have lint in the finns of my dryer how can I get that out and tighten the Finns
Thanks I can’t get the door switch apart so I can’t get to the dust I did put the vacuum hose down in the corners got some dust
Sooooo what if you drop a screw down the lint trap XD please tell me it’s at the end of the duct
I cannot get the wiring harness clip to release, I have a BRAVOS model, is there any trick ??
Toren Valone Sometimes they are tight and you may have to use a small screwdriver or they may have a small locking tab on the connector that you have to release before it will come off.
Thanks!
You're welcome!
thank you for being so concise and not including a lot of unnecessary BS about your sister's cousins personal life along with more BS , to the point !!! kudos
Thank you for such clear and concise demonstration on how to disassemble the dryer. I appreciate the camera views on how to reinstall the drum. Excellent job! This is the best one I"ve seen.
Amazingly helpful! Probably saved me either 2 hours of bumbling around or doing some really damage to my dryer.
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
Did anyone else notice that dryer plugged into 110 not 220??
thank you i was able to repair my dryer, belt had come off idler wheel.
Thank you LOADS and LOADS (pun intended). This was exactly what I needed to see! ♡
merrari Awesome, glad the video helped you repair the dryer!
Thanks for the video. Our dryer just made some awful sounds. With this video I was able to open the front and adjust the drum. I don't know own of that fixed it or if something made it through the lint screen but my dryer is now working and I have a happy wife. : )
Glad the video helped you get the dryer fixed!
As that one comedian says, "Happy wife, happy life."
Quick question: If I take apart front part, can I then oil bearings for screeching sound? I bought some Blaster Multi Max premium synthetic multi-use lubricant, I could not find pulleys on back of dryer. If I had seen this video first, I would have saved time. I will get help for the front part to take apart. I am just so scared to not be able to rethread the belt.
Have same dryer. Not heating. Thought I could easily remove the back panel to access the controls for testing. When I saw this video and all the work involved, I decided to Chuck it and buy a used one where I can have easy access to the back.
I've spun the drum myself in the dryer and it sounds like something is sliding, when it is on it sounds like someone drilling into wood.
+Chris Umphenour Best bet it to try and figure out where the noise is coming from. You can also post the problem along with the appliance model number on our repair forum and the techs can help you troubleshoot the problem.
Thanks guys! This video just saved me a lot of time and possibly a visit from the repair man!
This video was extremely helpful when I needed to disassemble a dryer to free a stuck squirrel. Very clear and helpful.
very helpful- and well done- thanks!
Derek Diedricksen Glad the video helped get the dryer fixed!
Matt,Great Video, very helpful. I have a Whirlpool Dryer GEW9868KQ0 with Touch Console and two panels in front. It won't start and I'd like to check the Thermal fuses for continuity. For accessing those fuses, is best to take off the front panels of my dryer, or go in from the back panel? The back panel access to my dryer seems harder to access than the steps shown in your video's. Any help or videos on that back panel access would be of great help. Thank you again for your help.
Thanks for sharing, but you really don't need that putty knife. After removing screws from lint filter, just pull the top forward to release from clips, and lift!
Thanks for that tip!
Actually the 'AppliancePartsPros' repairman wanted to say, "Hey 1995Benzo, stop being a smarta$$, I didn't want to yank off the top and break a plastic clip because I couldn't see if it would clear!" "In addition, I care if you DID see The Three Stooges do it your way!"
you are the best especially matt who I think works for Appliance Pro Parts. You get 10 out of 10. man explain every thing so smooth and logical. I hope your in business years from now you get two pats on the back. so simple, easy to understand!. I will only order from Appliance Part Pros. many successful Repairs.
I have a Whirlpool compact front load dryer model WED7500VW that I need to change the start capacitor and do not know how to get to it. Front panel screws are too
close to the drum to unscrew and back panel supports the drum. Any ideas?
I cannot thank enough!
I wanted to try and see if I could fix it and it worked!! 35y/o woman could fix it easily! (The dryer belt was torn apart inside)
We bought a new dryer since we didn't know if I could fix it...but we definitely will cancel and will still use the one I fixed!!
Glad you were able to get your appliance fixed! If there is anything we can help you with in the future please let us know.
You guys are the BEST !!! Thanx, once I got the right video, this one, the job of tightening the loose screws on a Drum Baffle took about 10in, from tools out to back in the tool box! Newbie here, I was slow :)
U mean the idler pulley does not have a wheel ?!? What a piece of industrial garbage, every Russian junior high school boy would laugh seeing this design aberration !!!
If there is anything we can help you with please let us know.
I wish that I had looked at this video first, because mine had the two panels. I couldn't take off the top panel, because the two springs were fastened to the door hinges. I wound up taking apart the hinges, which was a pain. If I had taken off the bottom panel, I could probably have unhooked the springs and then the top panel could have been removed in one piece.
THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! I'm on my Kenmore dryer right now to KILL that buzzer. You're the best!
None of the videos I've encountered showed how to take the top off my particular model (Whirlpool GGQ8811LW0). It's a newer model with lint filter in the door. There are two screws at the back of the plastic end panels that have to be removed to be able to swing the control panel up and back, exposing the three hex-head sheet metal screws that must be removed to allow the top to be slid forward for removal. After that, the procedure is the same as with other models to replace the door switch or rollers or drive belt.
It sounds like something is metal clanking around somewhere making a horrible noise when I turn it on. I took it apart as shown, couldn't find what was wrong. And as much as I love thos video. I'm confused. It shows how to take it apart n put it back together but it doesn't show how to actually fix things
No the belt is perfectly fine. I'm spinning all the skinny parts to see if there's an obstruction. Idk what the horrible sound is
HELLO, do you have a video showing the venting, duct, fan access etc? I see lots of responses here kind of needing that info? For instance, I want to clean all of the lint and debris in my fan, or something fell into that top lint shoot and we just need to only access that compartment and duct area. I just bought an older dryer like the one in the video and I need to get into just the lint area, the duct or whatever and the fan area. Any help would be great!!!! Thanks!!
I have model
110.67841600 I can’t figure out how to get the back panel off
Thank you - your video helped us change a broken belt and now the dryer is back working!! The most expensive part of this whole operation was shipping and overnight by Fed Ex!!
Help. I have a LG True Steam # DLGX5171V Your video shows a dryer with the lint screen on top. mine is located in the bottom of the door opening. No screws. How do I lift the. top for this model? The drum won't turn and I just hear a hum. I suspect the belt needs replaced. Is the method the same for this model ? Thanks!
This is actually a Whirlpool dryer video, check this one out! ua-cam.com/video/DSEfy3SVRi4/v-deo.html
Replaced my broken belt. Thank you so much. easy to understand and I DID IT!
You're welcome! Glad we could help you get it fixed.
It was great demonstration easy to follow !
Thank you. My drier looks the same as this one. I wish I had the model with that small access panel; the repair job would be a little bit easier. This isn't so bad though.
+1 Had a dead dryer from which we wanted to salvage the drum for gardening things. After an initial fruitless struggle, watched this and it was so easy. Thank you.
Clear, simple and straightforward!
This was extremely helpful. Thank you for posting!!
Legitimately a good video helped me fix mine still not sure what was wrong but no more shoe in dryer noise after re assembly
Thank you!
Is this for a Gas dryer ? Because that is what I have
i have a tumbler paddle inside the drum that is loose and clothes are getting caught and wound up in it. Can these paddles be tightened up and if so how do you do it??
Counting crows guy really fell off
When I opened the dryer to inspect the problem, I noticed that the pulley looked different without a wheel. Watching this video and saved me both money and time. A broken belt was the reason the drum was turning, I followed your instructions and now have a working dry once again. Thank you.
Thank you so fucking much for this. Saved me $.
Is this video too old to use? And also does it work for every kennore? I’m scared
Our videos are generic videos to give you an idea of how the repair is completed. If your unit is a different model then it the repair steps could be slightly different.
Come for the repair tips. Stay for the hair.
Do you have a video on cleaning out the lint? On a 25 year old Kenmore dryer?
This 10 year old video still saving hundreds of dollars today. TY!
Thanks a lot. Took about 5 mins to remove and check things out. Found about $10 in coins! Great thorough video.
Question: what would cause water to condense in the vent hose? I just took apart my
whirlpool dryer (front and back) to clean out all the lint. I cleaned out the vent hose and the vent to the outside. some of the lint trapped in the vent hose was wet (not just damp, but you could wring water from it). I rinsed it out, cleaned it thoroughly and hung it up to dry. Then I reattached it to the dryer and the outside vent and ran the empty dryer on high for an hour and an no heat tumble for 30 minutes, alternating that 3 times. It then sat overnight. I thought it would be bone dry the next day, but when I uncoupled it from the dryer, there was about 1/2-1 cup of water in the hose and dripping out of the dryer vent in the back. This was an empty dryer!! What on earth caused this??? Is it just latent humidity from the air it's sucking in? Is there a way to prevent this? If it's happening regularly, no wonder my dryer gets stopped up so frequently.
If you cleaned all the lint out and have good air flow, that could just be condensation from the heat in the dryer.
@@appliancepartspros any idea how to prevent this?
The only thing to correct that would be to make sure the vent and cover is in good shape and keeping the lint cleaned out of the vent and blower wheel and housing so the air flow isn't restricted.
This is not the same dryer that the display
Hay I’m Xander nice to meet you
