This worked well for my Samsung. The only issue was the tensor built portion. The video was taken from the reverse side which you cannot view like that without removing the back. It was easier to put the tensor around the belt and motor first and get someone to pull the belt open for you as you slide the belt around the dryer barrel. Much easier and faster.
I have the exact dryer. I’m going to attempt to do this because we think the belt might have gotten loose so I’ll know once I take it apart. This is such a helpful video. Thank you!!
where were you last year with this one? lol, i had to do this, and I almost threw mine out before my bro in law came over and said get out-of the way. let me show you. hahaha. this is going to end up being a long-term well viewed video, Roland! Thx for helping with us non "mechanical" guys :)
As a note, a lot of these screws are a combination Philips and SQUARE drive.. if you use the square drive, it actually works easier. with less chance of buggering up the screw head.
I’m on a mission to fix my GE dryer, because it’s making a tapping noise, which sounds like maybe the belt coming apart. The dryer works, but it sounds like it’s about to fall apart. It makes one loud tapping noise from what sounds like every single rotation of the drum. But the dryer that I have has the control panel on the front,, not the top like the one in this video... so I don’t think all dryers come apart the same way. I think that the GE washer and dryer set that I have is designed to be a stackable unit, it’s just not set up that way, it’s side by side. Perhaps that might make it easier for me to figure out how to get into it. I still don’t have a whole lot of room to work. And if I have to get to the back of it, that’s going to be a challenge.
Im trying to figure out how to replace the belt on a coin operated dryer in my apt building. I used to install appliances for Sears, so I told the home owner that I could definitely do it. Well... i just realized ive never worked on a coin operated dryer, and this thing definitely doesnt come apart like the normal residential ones. I even have the maintenance keys for it and I can figure out how to get anything off from the front. ...and the internet isnt proving to have any information whatsoever

What? You didn't find any change? I found $10.17 in mine. That Samsung dryer has a lot more parts than my Kenmore.
How does the pulley lock in place ??
