Sir - That was a PERFECT example of how to explain disassembly. Excellent camera work, clear speaking, no extraneous talking. All youtube DIY video producers should use your style and delivery as a guide.
Thank you guys for putting this together! Career auto worker of 22 years; first time appliance repair. I really needed something like this to walk me through the steps and construction. The camera work and narration were spot on. I will purchase my parts from you guys once I have this figured out. ❤️ 🍻
Very informative video. I simply needed to take out the front panel so I could more easily get rid of who knows how many years of lint that had made it past the filter and settled on the intake of the blower motor. I put it back together and just ran a load to dry, so far so good - I was half worried I would reassemble it the "wrong way" but watching this video and just doing the disassembly in reverse helped a lot.
Excellent video. My son left a homemade bracelet in his pocket and it exploded in the dryer. Beads all over in the lint filtration area. Dryer started making a terrible noise. I appreciate this video very much
just disassembled to replace the solenoids for my (similar model) GE gas dryer. Getting the belt back on the pulley was the hardest part, but the dryer is working like new! Thanks for the great video.
Very impressed with the quality of the content on this disassembly video. Great inside shot of the idler assembly. Really well done, and informative otherwise as well. I'll order parts from you guys as soon as I get it diagnosed.
Here's a pro tip from AlaskaErik. Not all GE dryers disassemble this way. Mine is a regular front loader that I bought in 2015. To disassemble mine, I have to remove two screws from the back and slide the control panel back and then rotate it forward. Then I have to remove the five screws holding the control panel access panel located in the rear of the control panel. Then I have to remove all the wiring hooked up to the various switches so the control panel can be removed and placed aside. Once that's done, then I can remove the two screws located above the front door opening, as well as two screws located at the back, so that the the top panel can be removed. After that, it's the same as in the video. It seems GE was bound and determined to make owner/user repairs much more complicated than they need to be. It's a safe bet they want to call the GE service technician. So far, on my dryer, I've had to replace the igniter and the drum bearing assembly. Those two service calls would have probably cost me $500 to $600 total. I didn't pay much more than that for the dryer to begin with. For something that's had an easy life with maybe 1000 to 1500 cycles, that's not a very good record. My last GE dryer that I bought, in 1991, was still going strong when I sold the house in 2006 But here's the best pro tip. More than likely, once you remove the back cover of the control panel, you'll find disassembly instructions and a schematic taped to the back of that back panel. You can also remove that panel first, even though that's not how GE sequences the disassembly process, in order to get that instruction sheet.
I wouldn't start unplugging everything from the switches unless you mark it all. Especially if you have a dryer with all the bells and whistles, more dials, more wires with terminal connections.
My GE dryer didn’t work for one week, so I just found this video on UA-cam and disassembled the machine following the steps. It’s incredible useful! And I found the problem of my dryer is the belt has been broken. Now my question is how I should choose the replacement belt if I can’t find the machine model😂
These newer dryers come apart a little differently than the old ones. Not as easily serviced as my old Whirlpool with a rear panel easily removed for access to element and various components. The concept of how it works is the same but the design of the components, the heating element especially is laid out much differently. Thanks. 👍
Thank you for this video, it gave me a nice start so when I got my brand new GE dryer, I was able to disassemble it, to install the two screws, that the assemblers, didn't install, not lol.
Isn't it possible to access the thermostats and safety cutoff from the rear, without removing the drum? I have seen these fail very often , and on dryers I have fixed these are easily accessible by removing the rear panel.
Hello. Thanks a lot for this video. I want ask You something: I have a GE Gas Dryer and when it's hot stops by itself, then a few minutes later I turn it on again and it works for around 10 or 12 minutes an stops again. May You give an idea what could be the problem? Good Night.
I have a used GE dryer almost exactly the same as the one in this video but there is no model number ANYWHERE. Could you give me the model number of the unit you are working on? Thanks
I have had my GE dryer since around 1998 or 99 but different model and worked perfectly up until a month ago, it suddenly started making a squeaking/scratching noise and can’t figure out where it’s coming from but sounds like it’s coming from the side.
Well, it’s half good, what about how to put the new belt back on with the idler tension, pulley by yourself, or with somebody else or how do you put the belt on? Yeah, I’m lost. 😮
I am having a problem with my Samsung dryer. The model number is DD40J300DAWA20 number is 0DL95AUG606230F it runs, but it does not heat up. I would like to know how I could check and I have done everything that I pulled up today cleaning inside cleaning the inside of the filter, can you help me?
I don't know who this guy is but I LOVE HIM!!! He's a GREAT Teacher. Fixed it MYSELF!!!

Finally somebody knows what they're doing knows how to tell people a excellent video
Thank you guys for putting this together!

A million Ty's to you for a perfect video! I have NO complaints whatsoever. I really wish all videos were this straightforward.
A person could watch your videos and easily take a profession in appliance repair. Very well done.
Camera angles, how he moves slowly and explains everything, and the helpful tips make this the perfect video. I'm glad I found this video. Thank you!

Thanks for this - helped me when my dryer's drive belt snapped
Thanks to this, I was able to take apart my dryer and discover the cause of the horrible grinding squeaks it's been making: three missing drum glides!
Wow! This is a wonderful video! Your explainations were clear and percise. You spoke slowly and your hands were clean. Great job.

Thanks for the additional info. Lord knows they'll make it as complicated as they can...

@@packrat76 I take pictures, so I know exactly where every wire and connector goes.
OMG. Had to take the top of mine off today. Your advice was so on point! Why is taped on the inside?!?!
Straight to the point. Clear instructions. Saved the day.

On mine, you can see the label once you open the door. Otherwise, it may be on a sheet behind the control panel

Muy bien…
Muchas gracias por su gran trabajo saludos desde mexico
This was a perfect guide and easy to follow - thanks!
Well explained thank you. My problem now: how to put the strap in the tension pulley?
Thank you for this video, it gave me a nice start so when I got my brand new GE dryer, I was able to disassemble it, to install the two screws, that the assemblers, didn't install, not lol.

Outstanding, thank you!
Mine does not have the 2 screws in that location,, will keep looking
Thank you very much! Incredibly helpful!!
Thank you for this valuable information.
Very good , thank you for the information...
Should the white wheel part where the belt goes with pulley slide on the pulley? Yours looks secure but mine slides back and forth on the pulley
As an Electrician, you didnt mention the critical first step- UNPLUG IT FIRST
What about something as simple as taking off the back pan ? How would you do that ?
I have a used GE dryer almost exactly the same as the one in this video but there is no model number ANYWHERE. Could you give me the model number of the unit you are working on? Thanks
Model number should be behind the front door on the bottom right on the opening frame of the dryer, its a small information sheet
Thank you so much!!!! So helpful!!!!!!
What’s the cubic unit for this dryer? I have to replace this model
Great video Thanks
Than you! this video was so helpful and I work with robots and advance production machinery lol
That was a very helpful & informative video. Thanks for posting!

What is the cubic feet for this dryer? I have the exact one and can’t find it anywhere. Thanks.
Where is the thermal fuse?
But how do you put it back together?? 😅
So for GE you are telling me I gotta take the whole dryer off to get to the thermal fuse ?
Same for a drum bearing sleeve or an igniter. Ask me how I know. And mine is even more complicated to disassemble than is shown here.
I can just take screws off the back ? And it’ll just come off to get to the thermal fuse ?
Have you figured it out? I am trying to get to my thermal fuse as well and this way is quite the task lol
Aaron Tambour it was the whole control board. It was still under warranty.
Nope not on a ge
When I put the dryer back to gether the tube doesn't fit tight what did I do wrong
Where is the troubleshooting?
This type of work is so tedious and you have to have patience.
wow it that from 1980?
Should have said Turn off or disconnect the power first!
gfdr270eh0ww disassembly. Not one video on it. All screws out wont budge everything off but front panel sigh
Not the same pully?
U help me ..
What a crappy design.
Thank You👍
Excellent. Very helpful thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
