mate winner winner potato dinner. very easy and moreish. great little winter tummy warmer. recipe written below. serves 4 to 6.
pre heat oven 190 degrees C
8 cup which is 2 L baking dish
4 bacon rashers
1.2 kg potatoes
1 cup grated tasty cheese
salt and pepper optional
300 ml pouring cream or cooking cream
20 g butter chopped small cubes
chop bacon small and fry til just crisp
peel potatoes and slice thin
layer potato cheese bacon salt or pepper optional
then keep layering in same order
pour cream evenly over the top
drop cubes butter all over
cover alfoil
bake for 40 mins with alfoil on
remove foil and bake a further 40 mins til golden brown
if you put knife through and potatoes are soft shes ready
allow to settle for 10 mins
serves 4 large servings if eating on its own
serves 6 if using as a side dish
