Damn you Hunter ! You find and also own the coolest old trucks and I'm really envious man, keep up the great work my friend and we'll watch to see what your up to next. Take care man.
Where you been Buddy, I know you've been doing stuff but you haven't been filming it it would definitely help your channel if you included us in your day-to-day stuff on your adventures
I had a 6v92 with an air start. The only sound that is better was a friends 12v72 with air start. Really coo. I think air start is so much better because it turns the engine over much faster than electric (at least on the old engines) and they start better.
....assuming, of course, the fuel's primed up & the air system doesn't have a slow leak that'll empty it overnight - otherwise you're screwed. air starters' advantage was due to being able to apply more torque to the engine than very early electric starter design enabled. that advantage was lost in the 70's once electric motor technology progressed far enough that an electric starter could reliably crank a truck engine for a sufficient lifespan, without needing as much routine maintenance as air starters did. Besides, if you're only talking cranking speed, Pony motors beat air starters hands down 😂
So nice to see you Hunter and man don't you look HAPPY! Loved the idea of the fuma-vac too! Sorry the first truck wouldn't run but I know it will in the end... wonder if a load of gravel shouldn't make its way to that last corner getting in the drive there LOL
In the Army,on our lowboys, we had a cover you could open. The king pin was held in place by a giant wing nut. That way, you replace the king pin very easily.
5:24 man when I was a kid I used to ride in my uncle‘s truck just about every summer when I would go to Arkansas to visit my grandmother. He had an old Marmon with a air starter, and that thing would scare the hell out of me. It was loud.
You should move the jerry can above the lift pump so the fuel flows without effort. A rope on the handle can even get the fuel above the injectors😎 Should cause a effortless prime....imlo. Of corse a siezed fuel rack is a no go.
I’ve started too many to count in 60+yrs . I splice in fuel line a 12v or 24 v electric fuel, pump to supply and prime . . From small diesels to loco engines . Have to feed em to start em . Plus shows any fuel leaks in fittings etc . Works great . Used this on mining equipment as operators seldom would fill tanks . Wanting sleeping time . The pump stopped that . Start up was 30 min usually less after fuel truck filled tank . Damage after Helene?
You should put a plow or bulldozer blade in the front of that detachable of course since hurricanes seem to be a recurring thing and heavy snowfall just a idea
Understand you want/need the rear suspension/axles but personally I think it’s kind of a shame to cut that truck up. On a side note I must be getting old because half of the trucks I drove when I had just started driving for fun and profit had air starters on them. Including the entire fleet of 40 Macks that a concrete company I work as a mechanic and back up driver had. The owner of the company had this rule that every night drivers had to dump the air of their trucks, which meant every morning myself and another mechanic had to fill every truck with enough air to get those Jesusless pigs started while we gave every truck a visual inspection and checked/replenished fluids on them. In reality in good weather that was not a bad way to kill an hour but in the winter those trucks were a SOB to start because none of the mixers had glow plugs and even with ether they could be a real pain in the donkey to start. All that said I kinda miss the simplicity of air starters but I can do without the noise of them and I sure like the idea of a only needing a good jump pack and maybe a can of Cosby sauce to start a dead truck than needing to drag out however many feet of air hose from the shop and or need a service truck with a air compressor on it
Little boy pull the pump off cut that shaft with saw put back on and start you will have to stall it out listen to me youngen it will work I had to do it in order to get my rig back to Maryland from Tennessee
Should have used 1/2" plate that 3/16" will tear apart if you get it in a bind even with that bracing Dot might Red tag you if they look at it close at it js

Also, your Ford looks like a South Park Canadian. Just sayin'
your getting sweet collection of MTVR's now. Trying to build an LMTV (out of two) into a live in camper... with a Tag along Diseilized Jeep TJ.

That’s crazy. I have never even heard of an air starter.
I'm in Asheville. We love your enthusiasm!!!
Die alte Karre erinnert mich an meinen alten Skoda MT mit 200 PS ohne Turbo! Den habe ich in den achzigern in der DDR gefahren
Haven't seen an air starter since the tow truck in maximum overdrive! Sweet rig!
Is that a hobo freight vent hood there? Always good to see you doing something Hunter, keep up the good work.

Here in Utah we have to use air starters on our diesel engines in the coal mines

Good stuff man!! ❤️🇺🇲
The shop vac fume collection is genius
Are you eventually going to pave that corner that you keep tearing up and getting stuck in? Maybe even some concrete or rock rubble would do
Keep grinding out the videos man, you'll gain even more subs!
I like cheese
That’s why we’re friends
I like my cheese dripppy brah
Those old engines needed a 4 sec spray but 1960-70’s. 😂
Best youtuber
Many of the air starters used on diesel engines are made by Ingersoll Rand.
5:23 i wouldnt stand by the rusty tank full of pressurized air lol
Hunter, do you ever hear or see any bigfoots out there in the middle of the forest. lol just curious
💡More videos 😂the people have spoken- and they’ll watch em too so get w the program:)❤👍💯

Yup age old question how deep are those pockets right
That homemade vent system looks like the search thingy from war of the worlds right
All hail the cosby sauce lol
Did you ever post a video of the RV sleeper that you and your dad built? Finished and working or still under construction?
Should have used 1/2" plate that 3/16" will tear apart if you get it in a bind even with that bracing Dot might Red tag you if they look at it close at it js
