Kevy Shaves - "come for the lather, stay for the laughter!" Good to have you back bud!
Hi Kevy, I’ve found after many years of loading badger brushes is to bloom the soap with a tablespoon amount of water and agitate with my finger, soak the knot then remove all the water( give it a good Shake ) pour the bloom water into the knot, then start lathering from the puck. The bloom water gives the brush a head start.
Kevy V R41 . And still, you tube shaving world champion KEVYYYYYYYYYYYYYY. Great shave Kevy looking forward to the next one
Great shave, Kevy! Glad you are back with us again! My wife and I are faithful watchers from Toledo, Ohio.
Cheers Chris. Give my regards to Mrs. Chris. Kevy 🙂
Yesss!!!! Two videos in one week and then a comeback after a month 😂😂😂!!! As a postman you know how to push the envelope or move forward 🤣🤣🤣 My favorite preshave of all times is the proraso line with green been the king. R41 not my cup of tea. I have the fatip piccolo haven't used it yet.
I always bowl lather, never got a problem with a badger, even with the monster the yaqi mocca 26mm.
Please don't leave us😭😭😭..... again 😱😱😱
For me a pre shave is essential. I have a close dense sandpaper like beard. It used to be ok but as I've got older it stick to the face like glue, the hairs grow downwards parallel to the face and some in grow . The grit is getting greater as I age too! So preshave soap allows me to push them up against the grain, and Proraso applied after the soap and on top of it works well as a softener. Then I can lather up, on top of the mix described before, and I get great smooth results. I love the videos and banter, keep well and keep them coming
An R41 is a definite challenge after using a mild razor for 5 weeks, job well done Kevy.👏😎🤟
Great shave Kevy🪒🪒 Good go with the R41, a light touch but wielded like a saber with total abandon. It's all about the feel with badger brushes, the better the quality the better the feel when properly broken in. A badger brush being organic needs a little maintenance but gives an exquisite experience in the end. Nice video and results in this shave, barely a weeper and totally smooth. Take care and enjoy!
I fully expected you to break out in song and share your rendition of Loch Lomond. There’s always the next video!! Great shave as always.
Great shave. It was still a damn easy shave, no matter what you say. Since you’re very much experienced, things still easily went your way in this shave. I’m quite experienced now in my 2 years of shaving, and I’m open to trying anything out there now in the wet shaving world. The Muhle R41 could end up being the fun part of the journey. I meant fun part by saying it was gonna be the best or worst part every wet shaver faces in their journey. We have a lot to go down, so we’ll see what happens along the journey. Have a good one!
Hola Kevy !!
Cómo te va ?)
It is nice to see that the R41 appears again on the scene, I know that it is definitely not one of your Top five but in today's shave it has done its job effectively, I hope you use it more frequently, maybe you can get a little affection for it, the most pleasant part of this world of wet shaving are the experiences that we get with the great variety of products that exist.
Saludos Compadre !!!
Great video, Kevy! Welcome back!
I've done blindfold shaves in the past and was thinking of doing one again soon, but an R41 wasn't what I'd choose for that shave. Great shave Kevy !
Synthetic brushes really have come a long way. I’ve been wet shaving for over 10 years now, and my first synthetic brush felt like plastic. I have a few synthetics now that you can’t tell the difference between it and a badger. I actually prefer a synthetic now and probably won’t buy another badger brush. I still love my boar brushes though.
Modern synthetics are great. I seen even Simpson are bringing out some of their brushes with their sovereign synthetic fibres. Boar brushes are still really enjoyable to use. Kevy 😊
I come for the laughter and stay for the lather. That and in hopes you’ll wear the pirate hat agin. 😂
all of the wet shavers return to the beast, cool Ken 😍😎😎😎
Kevy, you obviously met the challenge! Based on all the videos that talk about blade feel and aggression convinced me that I would not enjoy the R41. The Rex Ambassador has more than enough aggression for me. Even riding the cap won't give me the kind of close, comfortable;e, nick/irritation-free that I get using my Rockwell 6S.
I agree king Bart.
Happy to see another video Kevy!👍🏻
You can now buy Thayers at Boots, but stock does seem to be restricted to larger stores, or purchasing online.
Currently trying Thayers, as well as Holland & Barrett Aloe Vera & Witch Hazel gel. Both are great so far. Very soothing.
Loverley juberley shave kevy. That r41 is quite a beast. Like the other gear, did the job.
🙏👆👏
Preshaves do indeed soften the whiskers. They just shouldn't be too oily because oil diminishes the latherability of creams and soaps.
Lather police's suggestion to avoid unnecessary fines for vanishing lather:
Try the badger with a US artisan soap, or maybe Lothur. Load near a minute, with a drier brush, add water slowly.
I don't know much about wet shaving, but this one works, just keep in mind to use the badger with a thirsty soap.
Great shave Kevy. Enjoyed watching that.
Great shave, great review. I have been using my simpson synthetic brush more than my badger or boar recently. They all have there place in the rotation tho :)
Hi Kevy. Gonna use the R41 tonight with Arko and Yaqui brush. Rock n roll. !!
I hope it went well for you. Kevy 🙂
Muhle R41 more like Mauler R41 !.....just kidding. Great shave!
thank you sir
The R41 is a challenge no matter the circumstances. Your choice of utilizing the pre-shave was brilliant to maximize slickness before that Mühle scalpel touched your skin. All things considered, the outcome was well done. My challenging shave would entail the iKon Tech. That head is as dangerous as the R41 any day of the week. Soap will probably be an original label OSP, with a Sharp Star blade. I shudder thinking about it, but it is a tempting challenge.
Go for it!
i have easier and smoother shave with it than any other razors mild razor seems to not work for me
Hi Kevy another great episode, I really enjoyed it. I don't know if you have tried or heard of a shaving product company from Canada called "Henri et Victoria" there in Quebec and have an awesome shave soap as well as balm and cologne called "Cognac and Cuban Cigars" it has an awesome scent and lasts all day, they sell small samples of there product for $2.00 cdn each which is how I discovered just how good this product line was. Just thought you might like to know.
Thanks. I have heard of them but I've not tried any of their soaps yet. Cheers. Kevy 🙂
Hi Kevy !
Do your next shaving, hearing that instrumental track : The Duke of Burlington - FLASH.
A wonderful instrumental track To raise in a incredible way all your sensations around you and your shaving performance !

Wait, where’s the Kevy Shaves face wash?! Great vid as always sir!
top shave Kevy !! have a nice weekend👍
Thanks. You too 🙂
I find it so hard to find pre shave balms for some reason. I really enjoy your videos keep up the good work.
I find it hard to find a safety razor
best razor ever made
I’m torn between this one and the Merkur Futur.
@@Aspirintax dont think about futur get rockwell 6c
@@bogdanadzic9305 I already own the Muhle R41 and the Futur. I really have no need for the 6C or 6S.
Love your videos
Thanks 😀
I really enjoyed the shave video!!!!!!!
Thanks! 🙂
I love the R41, treat it with respect though. Gets under the nose closer than any razor I've tried. Maybe because my nose is a funny shape right enough 😂
😂
Hello Kevy! How many uses do you give a blade before disposing it and getting a new one? I figure you’ve answered this question before, perhaps many times, so apologies for that. Thank you!
Hi. Usually 3 shaves then i renew a blade. Kevy 🙂
Kev do a cold shave with the R41 it'll feel like a gillette tech
I have a question my age 70yr old is it worth my while purchasing a safety razor they are hard to find I tried tesco don't stock them don't even do the blades Alec from Scotland
Hi Alex. You're never too old to use a safety razor. I had a look inline and you can get them in Boots. Here's the link for you to have a look - www.boots.com/sitesearch?searchTerm=Safety%20razor Cheers. Kevy 🙂👍
@@kevyshaves4109 I'll try boots tomorrow thanks for the information
Kevy will they be closing the post office for a few days because of the Queens passing or have your union settled their strike?
The strike hasn't been settled as of today. The mail is still being delivered. We might get 1 day off on the day of the funeral, but it's up to each individual employer to decide wether they'll give employees the day off. Hopefully the Royal Mail bosses will let us have the day off to pay our repects. Cheers. Kevy 🙂
Do you prefer Muhle R41 or Rockwell 6c? I'm starting my adventure with traditional shaving and I'm planning to buy these razors.
I prefer the Rockwell 6C 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 I heard that Parker 94r shaves well and is between Muhle R89 and Muhle R41 in terms of effectiveness. What do you think about this razor? Worth buying?
@@regis03 Yes, definitely worth buying and that description is reat. Kevy 👍
@@kevyshaves4109 Do any of the Rockwell 6c plates match the closeness and sharpness of the Parker 94R razor? If so, which one? I'm asking not to buy similar razors 🙂 Currently I have a Gillette C King razor. Thank you for your help.
@@regis03 plate 5 on the 6C would be similar to the 94R 👍
Supper agressive razors allways seem to work the best when u got a couple days growth and u get that perfect shave....it tricks u into thinking u can shave with it every day....but u soon get set straight....
Do the Rockwell t2 razor
I suppose there's nothing like living dangerously..... XD :D
All I know Chris was busy with a new job but was offering some straight razor repair services. Yeah completely gone off the radar. Love that you’ve challenged yourself on this one. 👌👏🏻🪒
I have exactly the same machine. The handle is rose gold.
Aye Kevy don’t eat your alum 😂
🤢
I find the Muhle r41 more efficient than aggressive and very rarely nick myself.
The merkur futur on the other hand is a complete arse of a razor and is overly aggressive and no where near as efficient as the r41
😂...a complete arse of a razor...😂👏😂
Hi bro how r u? Nice shave with R41.
Why don't you show your shaving den?
Not enough hours in the day to show it all! 😂
@@kevyshaves4109 ok funny man
@@patnaikunisanthiswaroop8846 😁
I just can't bring myself to use that razor. LOL 😆
Set yourself a challenge! 😂
@@kevyshaves4109 right?! 😆
You are a braver man than I for shaving with the Astra Blue blades. They are just not as sharp as I would like them to be and I'd rather not scrape my face with them. I commend thee.
😁
Very brave of you Kevy. Next video you need to tap into your Celtic roots and shave with a sword.
😂😂👏
Astra SUPERIOR is the elitist version of blades.
Thanks for the video. My wife is thinking, that I am a kind of mad watching other men while they are shaving... But since about 2 month I am watching nearly every video from you and other guys, collecting tips about the shaving procedure, searching the INET for Cremes, Soaps and AS Bottles. Since then I bought 3 new Shaver's and several Soaps, Blades and perfume stuff...
My latest AS came yesterday with a 400ml bottle of "The Old Barber's" Black Vanilla...
I am looking forward any new video from you, @KenSurfs or @Glattrasiert
Thanks Oliver
