- Hello! Today I take a quick look at the neat ImmersionRC PowerPlay DVR. This combines a 60fps DVR with a battery case and display. I like it!
ALERT: In the video I mention using some 18500 2000mAh cells from my X-Lite in the PowerPlay and using the PowerPlay's lower-capacity 1400mAh cells in the X-Lite. However the cells from the PowerPlay won't fit the X-Lite due to their button-tops. The X-Lite needs button-less cells. Thank you for your understanding.

You can't fit the 1400mAh's in the XLite, cause of the button tops. ; (
Hey, you’re right! I hadn’t actually checked at the time of recording. Thanks for the tip! I’ll pin this so others can see.
@@MiniMicroFPV Yeah, it was disappointing.
I REALLY like this ! Now I have comparable dvr to my DJI setup. one of the BEST new products I have seen in a long time !!
I really like the 60fps:)
I have been waiting for this for two months finally in stock so I ordered ! my goal is to ALWAYS have a video of every flight to help locate kwad. I assume it has an auto-record function ? the new DJI has that and I love it. the real issue is it must be absolutely convenient and automatic ! I already have an assortment of small DVR which never get used. I think this with its multi function is a winner !
Yes, one can easily set up an auto-record. I can't recall if auto-record is the default setting or not but it definitely can be set. I think you'll like it:)
Well done. It was honest and thoughtful and to the point. Btw have you thought about experimenting with the Beta 4.1 RPM filters? Apparently the JEsc firmware adds bidirectional Dshot functionality to Bl Heli_S ESCs.
Thank you! And yes, I have thought about trying out RPM filters on 4.1 but I saw Bardwell's video and it looks like kind of a pain;) At the moment I'm pretty happy with Emu but I'm sure I'll try RPM filters down the road. Thanks for watching:)
I need this for my vx1000 fr
Very nice!
Great thank you. I am also interested in buying it. How long does the battery last without powering the goggles? I would use it with a docking with its own power
That’s a good question! At this time I don’t think I can give a useful answer. If I had to say something I’d imagine at least an hour. Beyond that I can’t say without more testing or info on how much current the display and DVR draw.
Hey guys im totally new to all of these so can someone explain what this device is please. Aren't there better screens thay lets u see what pilot sees? What sperates this device, what is dvr? Thx 🙏🏻
So the 2000mah batteries will work on my powerplay
Hello. Yes, if they are the 18500 size with no tabs like these~

how are you getting audio in dvr? does the powerplay have a built in mic?
Oh! You made me realize this might be confusing! This is just the audio I record along with the background for use in my videos. Unfortunately the PowerPlay doesn’t have a mic but it should record audio from the goggles if the quad’s VTX supports it.
@@MiniMicroFPV awesome, thanks for the prompt reply! I added a mic to my rapidfire that the fatshark dvr does record it so I suppose I'll keep that on. The audio you recorded separately, they sync up ok with the dvr?
In my experience, yes. The PowerPlay doesn't seem to drop frames so the clips are the right length.
Can it display live video, or just DVR playback?
Whatever is coming out of the goggle's video output can be displayed so if that's what you mean by live video, then yes. While you are flying the goggles output will be seen on the display.
CAN IT BE USED AS FPV MONITOR TOO?
Thanks for the question. This doesn’t have a video receiver so it would need an external receiver with a video output to be used on its own. If you want a screen as an FPV monitor it’s probably best to get something with a receiver built-in.
