I read a lot of comments about bill interrupting the guests, and sometimes I notice in more interviews than others, but this time, I have to comment because it might be the most glaring example...Stevie was about to start talking about a book he was writing, and I thought, cool! Who woulda thunk it! Tell me more Stevie! And bill then proceeds to interrupt, pick up HIS book, plugs it, talks about how funny he thinks the cover is, waxes on about his process etc. And then they literally NEVER get back to talking about what Stevie is writing...I'm still curious, no way he doesn't have some better stories than bill...take a breath Billy, let the man speak! What did you have him there for?

The guest is right. I often see people in their twenties who are embracing the classics from the 1970’s that haven’t been duplicated, such as Led Zeppelin. Certain songs will carry on for generations.

After being humiliated by Bill Burr for 90 minutes last week, Maher is happy to once again have a guest who will nod along and agree with everything he says.
Bill seems to know/care very little about music that predated his adolescent and young adult years. I'm at least 10 years younger than him but have heard You Can't Sit Down dozens of times since I was a kid. Steve plays it often on the Underground Garage, which I get the impression Bill has rarely listened to. I think he should do more homework if he's going to be even halfway authoritative when "interviewing" or just rapping with legendary guests on his shows.
Love SVZ. Forever grateful for the Soulfire/Teach Rock tour. He and his 15 piece band playing to mostly teachers and their plus 1 who didn't have to pay. All we had to was attend a pretty cool professional development, food included. Steve came and spoke to us. We didn't get individual pics with him, but at least got a group pic, t shirt, guitar pick. And three others and I got upgraded to front row center. The venue was half full at best, and he still played his ass off.I will never ever forget that show.

I drop in on Club Random now and then. I try to like it because I have been a Bill Maher fan for years. All I have to say Bill is less about you and more about your guest. You talk likely 90% of the time and that just doesn’t seem right.
By the way, Bill, the single by the Ventures, Walk Don’t Run, was ESSENTIAL to all young guitar players at the time, especially before singing was the next step.
I really enjoyed hearing Steven Van Zandt talk about politics, NYC's crazy policing policies and music. He's correct about there being a need to ensure that musicians and songwriters receive their fair share of royalties for the use of their music in television, films and documentaries. Unfortunately, my ipod broke (unlike Bill's), but I still listen to music on my favorite CDs. I found it difficult to believe that Bill didn't understand the concept of a seawall, especially because he grew up in New York. You'd think he would have visited a beach every now and then in his lifetime - LOL!
I was in that storm in 62 in Brigintine, next to Atlantic City. I watched the houses wash away and was rescued in a row boat! I love the Jersey Shore! Great , fun times at Club Random today. Thanks.

I drop in on Club Random now and then. I try to like it because I have been a Bill Maher fan for years. All I have to say Bill is less about you and more about your guest. You talk likely 90% of the time and that just doesn’t seem right.
This might be the best Club Random interview.
By the way, Bill, the single by the Ventures, Walk Don’t Run, was ESSENTIAL to all young guitar players at the time, especially before singing was the next step.

I really enjoyed hearing Steven Van Zandt talk about politics, NYC's crazy policing policies and music. He's correct about there being a need to ensure that musicians and songwriters receive their fair share of royalties for the use of their music in television, films and documentaries. Unfortunately, my ipod broke (unlike Bill's), but I still listen to music on my favorite CDs. I found it difficult to believe that Bill didn't understand the concept of a seawall, especially because he grew up in New York. You'd think he would have visited a beach every now and then in his lifetime - LOL!
