Whoa...Never imagined something like this for AOEII DE. This is quite creative and unique. I am glad that the devs are trying new things with the DLC rather than same old stuff. Though I still want east asian faction DLC I am glad to have this epic campaign style content. Maybe this will become someone's childhood favorite campaign just like OG AOE2 campaigns were for me.
I am flabbergasted. A campaign world map, animated cutscenes in the ancient Greek style, full new custom units and buildings (hail Romae ad Bellum). This is fan freaking tastic 🎉🎉🎉❤❤
@@ersatzvitamin1 Hey I loved return of rome, the fact that we got late western romans was enough for me to buy it, I've wanted that since I was a child.
@@Logang-h4h True but it was very clearly nothing more than a port of AoE1 meant to pander to Vietnam especially with the new civ being the Lac Viet. Plus it didn't really add that much to AoE2 compared to other DLCs except a new Roman civ.
@@grantarmstrong9648 The roman faction was the whole reason I bought it, if that was the only thing I got from it i would still buy it. Wanted a late roman faction since I was a kid doing the Atilla campaign.
Wow! Age of Empires 2 has gotten even more better. I wasn't expecting a Greece Civilization with animated cutscenes, different unit types, buildings, and etc. Can't wait to head back into AOE2 now.
I was not expecting AoE to somehow reference _A Total War Saga: Troy._ Yet here we are. At this rate, I won't be surprised if they decide to do a bronze age DLC that _Total War: Pharaoh_ might be used as a possible reference point.
This looks amazing! I love the experimental direction and single player focused narratives. Wow those cutscenes! Thank you for continuing to support this game, I've already preordered
We the AOE3 community, would like to congratulate you guys on another DLC this year. We are happy to see you thrive and experience new things in the coming months while we wait for our turn since we too have been blessed with an announcement of this years balance and QoL Patch.
actually looks really interesting and unique, a lot can be done with this too, there are so many big stories to tell in this way, i hope for more classic campaigns but i'd love to see way more of these too
😮 thank u for bring more contents. The new cinematics and narrative-centered content looks great, I think the survey was listened, and I appreciated that. Definitely I want to pre-order this!
Please take the time to rescale and adapt the main troops from the base game in future updates. It's a bit strange to see European soldiers in Aztec barracks, which affects historical immersion. We’ve already seen that this can be done with trade carts, so why not do it with the soldiers as well? We kindly ask you to consider this- it would be an incredible improvement for the game!
At this point just put AOE2 Classic in the sidebar and make a new “AOE2 Extended” which radically alters each civ, splits a bunch up and gives each unique building and unit sets etc. The stuff people have been asking for.
Wooooooow!!! This is what I'm talking about! That's a kind of DLC I wanna see and will buy instantly. Grand campaign and incredible factions. Keep up the good work
Awesome DLC, thanks so much AoE team!! I’m so grateful you keep providing amazing content and keeping the best game ever alive and well after 25 plus years!
The announcement got my curiosity, but this trailer has my attention. Chronicles....meaning we can expect more single player focused content like this? Oh hell yeah I'm in!
I bet you guys discovered the wisest way to make AOE much more lively. Considering units available within this remake, here comes my wagers about next DLC of these: Basileios Alexandros(unlocks Macedonia+Thebes+Thracian+Maurya)/ Punic War(unlocks Carthage+Roman)/Cyrus(unlocks Media+Lydia+Babylon+Scythia)😁😁😁
I'm wondering how Chronicles will develop in the future. See, some things I've wanted from AoE2 I don't know would be possible without making it no longer AoE2 (Splitting the Celts into two or three civs, for example. Or the Italians for that matter. Renaming the Britons the "English" and adding a new "Britons" civ, or an Anglo-Saxon civ, or something) Chronicles seems to be an answer to that problem. I'm excited to see what the future of Chronicles holds, and how (if at all) it will affect the main game. But I would also be happy if Chronicles remained it's own, separate thing - an Age of Empires 2.5, if you will.
Is it possible that we may see more chronicles content added in the future after the release of the Age of Empires II: DE - Chronicles: Battle for Greece?
That's awesome @@ageofempires! I can't wait to try it out. Also, would we may see more regular AOE2 DE content, like adding more civis, more campaigns, etc.. in the future? Because, there are few mods for AOE2 HD Edition for example The American World Mod, but didn't carry over to the DE version.
WOAH, another DLC?!
I cannot thank you enough for supporting this gem of a game this much
Finally i can Spartans against Persians... 300 pop, of course.
