This is a small box made to hold business cards. It's made of walnut and reinforced with maple dowels. Thanks for watching! Website: www.parillawork... Instagram: / parillaworks
The miter gauge is the 1000SE and the sled is the Miter Express. I think there's a few gauges above this version that have more features but this one has worked well so far.
I have the same latches, but where did you get the hinges. I got some cheap ebay hinges, but the screw heads sit proud of the hinges, unlike the screws with your hinges. The spray paint is a neat idea. Like others said, I thought you were going to flock it, and thought flocking might not be a good idea for a card box.
The latch and hinges came from an etsy shop, though I believe it's all from China. I think the store is called Little Hardware or something similar. Ya, I'm not a fan of flocking for whatever reason. The paint was just an attempt at something different for a change. Thanks for your comment William.
Bingo bongo... www.etsy.com/listing/239573808/10-pcs-antique-brass-color-90-degree Thank you. They have the little divot/recess to take the screw heads.
What are your thoughts on how this will fare with respect to wood movement. I was surprised to see solid pieces go together like that but I'm certainly no expert.
I'm not too worried about it. The pieces are all about 1/4 or 3/8 thick and not very wide so their expansion won't be too crazy. If this was a larger box or some sort of tabletop that was being trapped I would be much more worried.
That was a Lie Nielsen rabbet block plane. It's a pretty solid option for small all-around tasks. It's not great for bulky material removal or flattening and jointing stock. I think a no. 4, 4.5, or 5 jack plane are you best options if you only had to get one plane.
Beautiful wood. It hurts to see any of it painted.
Green spray paint?! You're a monster.
I'm sorry! I would take it back if I could!

What screwdriver is that? Looks pretty cool.
What version of the incra miter gauge is that your using? I haven't seen that double stop setup before. I gotta have me one of those!

parillaworks ALWAYS bro. haha! ik what you mean..ive got some cherrt and mahagany sitting around for that rainy day project..lol
Where did you get those hinges?
Did you do all your cutting with just your rip blade?
In this case I did but I usually switch to a crosscut blade for crosscuts.
great looking box. Odd question, were did you get your t-shirts printed?
Jack Brennan Thanks Jack. I got the t-shirts made locally in south Florida. A company called The Fine Print Shoppe. They do good work.
Okay, I'm up in chicago, I just got a logo so I was looking for some t shirts for myself. Thanks for the reply brother.

I see. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on it!
I am curious about the hand router you used around all the box edges. What kind? Thanks.
That's a Bosch Colt palm router. It has since died and I've moved on to the Makita trim router. Both are great little tools.
Awesome
from where you buy this box folding clip and lock its fantastic
Thanks. They're from a shop on Etsy. I forget which one though!
What hand plane did you use and would you recommend it as a first hand plane for small boxes like this?

parillaworks, thanks the reply! You and your work are an inspiration to me.
Maybe next time stamp the cards backwards so they are organized when your done.
So many butt joints! o_0 But i appreciate the video.
Thanks!
