Great stuff, thanks for showing Lance. Great collection, my faves in this - the 3 US of A's an all time fave, along with the mother mallard portable masterpiece (great electronic lp), og mazzy and beck are cool too.
Hey Lance. Great video on the Dan Schwartz collection. What a find. There are so many I want. Just an FYI - I'm new to the youtube vinyl community and actually posted my first video last week, which was a response to Noble Records Summer Tag. I mentioned you in my two part answer to the question about Silver Linings in vinyl. Cheers. And keep posting.
I read only bad things over the years about Oar by Skip Spence but then listened online and bought it immediately. It's one of my favourites start to finish. I don't hear the mental unravelling during the album that always seems to come up in the music press. I have other albums by other artists where I agree the person was struggling mentally during the recording but I don't hear it on Oar. I know he was because of what happened but I find the album to be kind of joyous and full of excellent songs. I like your channel dude, I subbed and try to catch up whenever I get time. Thanks.
I agree with you completely! “Oar” doesn’t sound like a record made by someone going out of his mind like Heitkotter or Circuit Rider. It’s a mellow, vibe-y singer-songwriter album with hints of darkness and melancholy. More loner folk than psych-folk, IMHO. Thanks for the sub and the insightful comment!
I prefer songs about cuddling but they are both great. Hammer Party is probably my favourite BB album but it's a comp so I guess it doesn't count but that's the one I play more often.
I live in England. I will unsubscribe if you mention being too hot again. I'm joking but try to imagine living in blah weather constantly. Everyday is never extremely bad and never extremely good which gets really old after 50 years of it.
Fair enough! 🤣 We generally have great weather in LA, but it does get hot and I have to turn off the AC to avoid the background hum in these videos. I only mention the heat to explain the perspiration. 😅

You have great taste, my friend! Thanks for watching.
You rule Lance!
Thank you very much! I am humbled. 🙇
There is a great video on UA-cam of songs for 18 musicians being performed live. They are very busy on that stage.
That’s a lot of musicians! We’ve had almost that many on stage at the Roadhouse. Tough mixing job. I’ll look for the vid!

You and Vinyl Richie have talked about Big Black both today so now I must try them. But which album is for me?
You can’t go wrong! Big Black has a pretty flawless catalog. Shellac is worth your time as well!
At a glance on Discogs, Schwartz is on Hassell's Flash of the Spirit (1988) and City: Works of Fiction (1990) albums.
Pretty wild, right?!?
