👋 Hello young man. I'm 64 years young, and I have been into music collecting for years now. Firstly what a good haul for cheap prices, you have done well. I had the pleasure of seeing Miles Davis in concert here in New Zealand where I live back in the 1980s. It was at the time of his Tutu album release and he was promoting it His back up band were very funky. Excellent concert. I love the Doors and Jim Morrison. I remember their hit songs on the radio airwaves in the late 1960s and early 1970s. It was sad his death in 1971. My favorite song of theirs is Touch Me from 1968/69. The song Riders on the Storm released in 1971 is a classic too. I wore my hair exactly like yours back in the early 1970s. The same length. But by the late 1970s I got it cut shorter. From Carl.
Thanks for watching! I wish I could go see Miles, he is one of my favorites for sure. Touch Me is definitely high on my list of favorite doors songs as well, although I can't pick a fave! Thanks for sharing Carl! ✌️ ☮️
That is an AWESOME Hendrix album in the shrink wrap! I am a HUGE fan of shrink wrap on albums, especially when they have the original store price stickers on them. Adds to the nostalgia of the era!
Dude you so scored on the Jimi Hendrix-Are you experienced....wow what a great find... congratulations!!! Your other vinyl records are very nice !!!!! Q1-How or what inspired you to begin vinyl collecting? Q2-Will you ever do a vinyl room tour? Q3-Have you ever had a massive collection of vinyl records gifted to you? If so, can you show them ? As always thanks for sharing!!!!!!!
Indeed! I was and still am extremely excited. Thank you so much! I did pretty amazing on those finds, and plan on visiting that store again soon! Thanks for watching ✌️
I couldn't believe it when I pulled those out. Unfortunately, both are warped, but I did a little cover switching, and now I've got some pretty damn good condition albums! ✌️ ☮️
Dude 1000 subs!! That’s so freaking awesome! I know everyone says they don’t care about subs and that stuff but those people are either horribly indifferent or lying! LoL! We wouldn’t make videos if we didn’t want as many people to see them as possible! It took me 6 years to reach that 1000 sub summit! Haha! I really had to grind em out to get there and with no contests to pad my numbers either! I’m so happy for ya man! You have an amazing collection and I love your laid back vibe and your passion for great music! Congrats my young friend! Some cool finds here! I couldn’t really care about jazz & blues but I do like some of it! I’m sure those records are killer finds for ya! Now that Jimmy Cliff LO is fantastic! I went to Jamaica awhile back and he is a revered musician there! Man that was a fun TRIP! I partook in all of the delights Jamaica had to offer Haha! Stones are amazing and that album is so killer! I have like 3 diff covers of that LP! LoL! Keep em coming Man and again Congrats! Peace ✨✌️👽✨
Thanks man! I agree that seeing all the subs makes me super happy, but I would still be making these videos if I had 100 subs. I genuinely enjoy making content. I feel so fortunate to have reached 1,000 subs already! I would love to visit Jamaica one day! Thanks for watching ✌️
Some really cool finds, especially for the prices. The Doors, (my fave band), stuff were great pick-ups. Managing to get "Strange Days" with the lyric sheet is a nice find. Plus, The United States Of America, along with the Fifty Foot Hose, were tops in the electronic/psych weirdness field. The record looked a little iffy condition wise to me, so whether it would be worth the cost of trying to fix the warp or not...? Luckily, I managed to get a Minty copy years ago, with the limited envelope sleeve. Dorothy Moskowitz, now in her 80's!, is still recording weird stuff. Her latest C.D. called, "The Afterlife Album", has recently been released, and is pretty interesting. I posted a very short snippet of U.S.A.'s "Coming Down" promo vid on Y.T. that ya might enjoy.
Love the U.S.A. That copy was worse than I realized when I took it home, but I got a very nice cover upgrade out of it. I would love to find the bag sleeve! I had no idea she is still making music, thats really cool. I have seen many of your videos on youtube, I love watching old clips of these obscure bands playing :). Thanks for watching ✌☮
That Johnny Winter album is still one of my favorites from him. I got to see him live a few times. 1973 (Foghat opened), in 1988 & right before he sadly passed.
Just came across your channel as I continue to mine the depths of VC content. Great stuff, and some major scores. Made me go back, break out my copy of Vanilla Fudge debut and crank it to 11!
Fantastic haul! Love that Jimi Hendrix AYE copy, I also have that in shrink, super clean, and it sounds so great! Here’s a question for you: What is the most you spent on one record, which one and why? Cheers from Sweden 🇸🇪
As others have said that's an insane haul for those prices, in a record shop, of all places! It could only happen in the US! I love that 1st Hendrix sleeve and what a beauty in shrink. I have a perfect UK OG but the US sleeve takes the win. The United States sleeve is lovely. I'd recommend always buying nice sleeves even if the record is rough or visa versa. It's one of lifes small pleasures matching up the two, even if takes years to match up. I quite like those dodgy Hendrix comps on Sagapan, I think there's 3 or 4. Just loose jammy stuff from 69 allegedly. Q If you could have any 3 UK releases (and you didn't have to pay for them) what would you pick. Cheers Nige
This is a particularly great record shop! Its a bit of a drive to get me there unfortunately, but its always worth it. I much prefer the US version of AYE, including the cover and the tracklisting. Although I do love tracks like Red House and Can You See Me. I did a bit of a cover swap on the USA and Jimi record :) I wasn't really a fan of the Sagapan record tbh. Thanks for the question! ✌️ ☮️
What a great haul, Sorin! I have a few questions for you.. What initially got you into music, & all the types of music you listen to? When did you start collecting records? What is your favourite thing about vinyl? Why did you start your UA-cam channel? Are there any particular places in the world you would like to visit to collect records? How many records do you usually have on your want list? Sorry if that's too many questions! Congrats on passing 1000 subs, as well! It's been fun to see your channel grow :)
Nice finds! Shame the USofA is warped, slightly. There was once an article in Goldmine magazine years ago that suggested you clamp the LP between two plates of glass then put it in the oven for so many minutes to help flatten it out. - JT
I might give it a try one day, but it is sadly heat warped and the sound is distorted :( So I did a cover swap and plan on maybe hanging it on my wall haha. Thanks for the suggestion ✌️ ☮️
I'm so envious of the three Doors. They're so expensive here and it's rather risky to buy used copies instead of newer represses since they're mostly beat up. My question would be: rank Jefferson Airplane albums from your most to least favourite and show them if you own them!
The doors ones are not perfect copies by any means, but they are certainly enjoyable listens. The sound really jumps out of the speakers on these early pressings. I got very lucky with them! Thanks for the question! ✌️ ☮️
That Johnny Winter album is good. Have you listened to side three of Second Winter? I remember when those Jimi Hendrix At His Best albums came out. They aren’t great but they aren’t terrible.
I have not put on side three yet lol. I havent really been home much to listen to records. I didn't really like the Jimi at his best comp at all. I probably wont be hanging on to it. ✌️
man that score is almost unreal, every record just stunning, fight place right time never been that lucky myself question= i dont see you show many soundtracks do you have many and what are your favourites cheers sorin and a big congratulations on a 1000 subs, its been a blast having been there from the begining and watching your channel go from strength to strength well deserved man
Thank you! If you dig consistently, you get a lot of great scores over time. Thanks for the question, I added it to the list :) thanks for all your support man! ✌️ ☮️
Hot Rats! Love that record. United States Of America even with the warp is an amazing find, and like you said, the clean cover alone is worth more than the $2.50 you paid. I had that UK Hendrix comp once (possibly a different volume) and it wasn’t very good so I purged it, however that Are You Experienced in the shrink with price sticker! What a score! You can always upgrade the disc down the road. I have a clean seventies reissue of it but would love an OG. You had an excellent digging session. ✌️
The USA is unfortunately unfixable, but the cover has virtually no ringwear or damage. I didn't think the Hendrix comp was very good either. I will be upgrading the disc of the Are You Expierienced eventually, but I have a decent player copy for now. Thanks for watching ✌️
@@sorinvinyl1523 That’s unfortunate that the warp isn’t fixable. Still a major score on the jacket though! Yeah those Hendrix comps are terrible. Any early Hendrix in the shrink with price sticker is a bargain.
Fabulous haul!..never mind the condition, those prices are like charity ( thrift) shop prices here in the UK ( and you normally just find rubbish for that price). United States of America is an all time favourite of mine..first 3 Doors, Are You Experienced?...killer for no money..Good days' work I'd say.
Congrats on 1K 😎👌 Crazy that ‘Some Girls’ & Yardbirds & Doors lot as well as shrink Hendrix were in the $2.50 bin 😦 Nice haul Sorin. Q&A What Australian records do you own if any ? Cheers
Holy haul!!! That’s amazing! You’ll never see any records of that stature in the UK for that price, that’s absolutely killer! fingers crossed on the 1000 subs coming soon! My Q&A question for that vid: Out of your collection, what 3 records would you grab in a fire 🔥?
Hey man. I hope you reached your 1000 subs. $2.50 for gold label Electra Doors? No brainer! And Hot Rats? Damn. Probably my favorite Zappa lp. Crown jewel is the United States Of America lp. I own the Bob Marley lp, pretty sure it's just comp. Cool gets on the cheap! Looking forward to your Q&A. Peace ✌ ☮ 🕊
Just reached it a few hours ago! I can't believe I got there! Yeah most of the stuff I picked up were no brainers for me! Hot Rats is def my favorite. Thanks for watching! ✌️ ☮️
Maaaan where I live is so hard to get some of these on original, and since original is all I buy it makes me mildly irritated. 😁 But, I can't knock a fellow collector on a great selection.
I try to collect mostly orginals as well. Good luck on your future digs! There are still many great finds out there! USA is incredible, but unfortunately that copy is pretty warped and I don't think I can fix it. But I managed to upgrade the cover of mine to the one on this video with virtually no ringwear or damage. Thanks for watching ✌️

great video like always! Two questions for your Q and A What got you into records? What got you into psych music?

Nice! My dad remebers when that album came out. He tells me the story evertime I put it on haha. ✌☮
What’s really nutso is that when the majority of those records were released they were $2.50 or less brand new!!!! Good finds. Lucky man! 🖖🚀
I know right! The price sticker on the hendrix says 3.50, I believe, so I paid less than someone bought it brand new! ✌️ ☮️
are you a fan of avant garde/prog rock music
Not too much avant garde, but I'll show something that might count :)
What stores have these $2.50 bins?
WaxPax records in Berwick Pennsylvania. If you are in the area I highly recommend going there. Thanks for watching ✌️
are you kidding me?? those are finds i would see back in the late 70s early 80s. at that price.
I got pretty damn lucky in this haul. I woke up early to get there first haha. Thanks for watching ✌️
