I'm glad the Mandalorian wars is still canon.
It's canon but we don't know if it played out the same way it did in Legends yet.
100% agreed
@@eugger3011 i mean true but the mandalorian is written by favreau and filoni and they already teased that eu stuff will be in season 3
“History lesson! The Jedi won the war with Mandalore, these tricks will amount to something, maybe save you from time to time but they won’t keep you alive in the long run… only training, and discipline will do that!”
-Kanan Jarrus to Sabine
@@ZaWardo151. Yeah, the Emperor tried to rewrite history, especially as it relates to the Jedi. So the Legends stories are just the best stand in for what really happened.
It’s kinda crazy that there was a time in SW history when the Mandalorians stood on equal grounds with Jedi and Sith, back when the Jedi and Sith actually wore armor and fought massive wars practically every few years. Seems like the galaxy really mellowed out over the years.
why cant we see this era of star wars!?
Nice to know even in the SW universe the old timers think the new generations have gone soft 🤣🤣
@@AndreNitroX Dunno, but I’m a little glad they haven’t touched it. Disney SW seems to do better when it is something new, in my opinion.
That's what I'm thinking, Old Republic is the height of Star Wars. Jedi and Sith meeting head to head on the fields of battle, plotting political intrigues and power struggles etc.
Republic Era is also great but feels so much smaller, and Imperial Era just feels like the galaxy kind of lost it's spirit.
disney would do an awful job with this
This is by far My favorite Star Wars channel. Because You explain things like a friend trying to inform someone on something they want to hear and not a teacher forcing down knowledge to students in a robotic way. I believe that’s the main reason people appreciate your uploads. I look forward to your future videos.
He is very good. You should try Star Wars fanatic as well
Indeed 💪🏾😎💪🏾
Not only that , you can tell he just generally enjoys the Star Wars universe & cares what’s happens. Brings a lot of relativity to the content which is amazing
it seems you’ve never had a good teacher then
Yeah he doesn’t repeat the same thing in 30 different ways like Stupendous Wave for example
In a way, order 66 was Jango Fett’s revenge on the Jedi for the Mandalorian-Jedi wars. Killing the Jedi using copies of himself.
Was Jango Fett aware of the Clone Contingency Orders?
😂🤣🤣
Low key!!! 😂
I'm really hoping they show Tarre vizsla in flashbacks this season. Would love to see him in live action!
That would be great to see!
In the old republic, mandalore the ultimate led a crusade against the republic and the known galaxy, the mandalorians grew so much in power that a handful of jedi led by revan counteracted their brutality with their own. Eventually revan spanked them so hard that the mandalorians split off and their society turned into the pacificists we see in the clone wars.
And we really need that spin-off
@@dchiznit209 yes but im willing to wait for competent leadership of star wars before that happens.
It would have been great to hear about Darth Revan and the history of the mandalorians warring with the Jedi there and how Revan turn to the dark side and recruiting a bunch of Jedi to go with him. But maybe we could get that in another video? Like a nice long one.
still my canon
Unfortunately, KOTOR was among the things good ol' Kathleen Kennedy deemed to no longer be canon moments before publicly claiming that Star Wars was difficult to write because of "no source material"
@@kevinoneil5120 yes her hypocrisy and arrogance is why i want her gone.
@@MattStephenson523 yes, why should i have to follow the canon of a company that doesn't give a damn. For now, im cherry picking the disney plus shows because they are not connected to the disney trilogy, but when they do I will have to avoid that as well. Either way, the EU is the only star wars I need, and I just became a fan of it.
King, PLEASE Make an Exar Kun video. Truly a legend of the star wars universe, with a lot of close ties to the films and locations we already know.
"For generations, my ancestors fought proudly as warriors against the Jedi. Now that woman tarnishes the very name, Mandalorian."

I like how one of the plots in Kotor 2 is earning the respect of the Mandalorians on Dxun, and eventually Meetra Surik fighting alongside them during the Sith Triumvirate.
Great video. My only suggestion would be to label which events are in canon and which ones are in Legends. I understand that the Legends events you talked about don't contradict canon but it would be nice to have a clear label just in case they DO decide to change it in the future.
I thought that Mandalorians didn't hate jedi as they saw them more as worthy opponents to fight as they felt everyone else was too weak to give then a honorable fight. Cuz I know in Kotor the Mandalorian companion says that no Mandalorian felt regret losing to Revan and his jedi but more shamefully of his fellow Mandalorians who lost their pride as Mandalorians after the war even tho it was a worthy war.
not to mention after that war the mandalorians devolved into the pacifist society in clone wars
Thank you SO much for still putting so much effort and love into videos like this.
There’s just something about the way you explain things-it’s smooth, well thought out-easy to understand.
Even back when this Chanel was mostly what ifs , and fan fictions-your passion shone through. Been a fan since the beginning-you’ve been such a big part in keeping my love for this franchise alive-especially through these dark Disney times.
May you live long and prosper
(Wrong franchise-I know but, it’s fitting!)
It's interesting how the Mandalorians have these mystic superstitions yet they hate the jedi, the ultimate mystics. They put so much stock into the darksaber as a symbol of unity and leadership of Mandalore rather than study the wisdom of the Tar Vizla who created and first wielded it since much of that wisdom came from the Jedi. In other words, it was the teachings of the Jedi within a native Mandalorian that united the people, not the saber, yet there is a whole mystical ruleset for a person to wield the saber and what the person is expected to do as if the saber itself grants the user power. it reminds me of the elder wand in Harry Potter, a little bit. in both instances the "rules" were just unnecessary superstition and it was really down to the person who wielded it as to what type of legacy was formed.
There is so much material to be mined for a TV series or series of movies from both far in the past and far into the future. I just hope Lucas Film has good direction by the time they start trying to get into it all.
I heard that this was because the Mandalorians basically started out as space vikings who harmed innocent people by invading and pillaging nearby planets (like the Death Watch or the Nihil) hence why the Jedi fought back against them
Mandalore the ultimate led the neo crusaders in an all out crusade against the republic. the only jedi that counteracted this attack was revan, who would become so corrupted by this war that he turned into Darth Revan.
yes you're right the jedi only entered the war after the mandalorians committed a genocide on an entire planet.
@@enmanuelperdomoguzman8217 and even then the jedi council as usual sat on their hands, while revan and a handful of jedi went to war
@@AndreNitroX yes the jedi council as usual incompetent😅
@@enmanuelperdomoguzman8217. The jedi council didnt want to join the war vecause one they still thought the sith were out there which is true both the true sith and sith brotherhood afflicated force sensitives were hidden all over the galaxy.
And that they saw a force vision in which jedi joined the war and fell to the darkside.
a ton of mandalorians died on Malachor V in the old republic due to the actions of revan and alek and meetra surik
The sith are the ones who tricked the mandos into going to war with the republic. The blame should be on vitiate imo.
this is the only canon i recognize
I like how you used Malak’s Jedi name here. Attention to detail on point.

@@sunnymammajamma6455 yep, as we saw Yaddle in Old Tales. She was pretty normal, lol
Nice to see you make another video like this. Brings back memories of your older videos.
I would love to see this on screen!!! That age when the Mandalorians and Jedi battled. Maybe showing Tar Vizlas ascension. That would be so sick! LFG SW!!! ⭐️☄️✨🪐
that'd be a cool video game or series.
the jedi/mandalorian training grounds, where young jedi are trained along side mandalorian recruits/foundlings perhaps even jedi who are not meant to become jedi, they are too weak in the force or too hot tempted.. become mandalorians instead, giving them a code to keep their emotions in check.
So rather than out right denying the darkside they allow you to branch out somewhat but teach you to keep it under control, it'd be cool to see some jedi have Beskar armor like their armor from the old republic, or perhaps just pieces inside their robes to protect vital areas.
you could follow a group coming into the temple as they live together as jedi and mando's but in a mixed group.
that way they can form bonds and learn to work together, so when jedi are sent to deal with problems you don't just send two jedi, you send them with a small team of mandos, and they solve problems together.
They'd have some choices of how they want to work, either bounty hunters perhaps in pairs send a young jedi off with a veteran bounty hunter for six months, or have a small unit of mando's protecting jedi who go to resolve conflict, have strike forces of a couple of jedi and mandos who get sent into hot zones, or stay and teach the next generation.. guard senators etc.
It could be a really cool idea, kind of like the imperial knights i'd see the jedi moving to a more balanced view point.
I hope we get a series about Tarr Vizla. Or at least a season about him.
I'm glad we're finally getting another video like this
In Legends, the Jedi also slaughtered Jango Fett's clan. I'm not sure if there's still room for that in Cannon or if they filled in the section of the timeline with something else.
From the comic: Jango Fett - Open Seasons. But since Dooku was originally involved that may no longer be a possible fit due to Tales of the Jedi. But elements of that backstory would still fit in great with Jango's and other Mandalorians' distain for Jedi in the late Republic era.
Wasn't Darth Vitiate responsible for the war since persuaded or manipulated Mandalore The Great? Also, I think The Armorer is the enemy since she's a Mauldalorian.
Mandalore the Ultimate took the siths bait but in all honesty he just wanted a war.
A Mauldalorian 😂😂😂 never heard it before, nice one !
I'd love to see a flashback or even a spinoff movie to the story of Tar Visla and how he united mandalore
This is extremely interesting. Would be nice to see Old Republic,Jedi and Mandalorians. Their wars, conflicts, relationships. It would be cool :D As for Grogu training-still makes no sense. Their hatred ,mutual makes sense. Would be nice to see what Is said. The Force will be with you too. Always
The Mandalorian Wars need to be canon
It is canon
@@harryamer3128 good
Like Kanan said to Sabine in Rebels: “History lesson! The Jedi won the war with Mandalore!” This was when he was training her with the Dark Saber and she started using Mandalorian vambraces in an attempt to win instead of actually putting his training into practice.
Mandalore the ultimate and the neo crusaders would be excellent villains in any movie or show
I'd say that the reason the Mandos and Jedi hated each other was because Revan defeated their leader in hand-to-hand combat and won. And, soon after, had the Mandalorians burn their armor in his presence.
not to mention revan spanked them so hard the mandalorians never recovered and their society turned into pacifists.
Revan was the reason mandalorians respected the Jedi. Because they finally found someone worthy of the challenge
That wasn't the first time the Mandalorians fought the Jedi. In the age of Exar Kun, the Mandalorians sought to conquer the galaxy. They were defeated by the dark Jedi Ulic Qel Droma and became allies of him and Exar Kun. In the end, the Republic and Jedi defeated them. That is likely where the hatred started. If not some earlier conflicts.
@@goiter401 true
It really bugs me that we have no mention of the Great Mandalore helmet, practically the symbol that can unite all the clans under a singular leader.
Maybe it's left in legends but I personally would have prefered the great Mandalore Helmet to be mentioned, if Bo lost the darksaber why not seek the Helmet of the Mandalore. After what was done with it in legends ,after Mandalore the preserver united the clans not much else it is known about it.
I wouldn't say the Jedi hated the mandalorians per say but they knew what they were capable of and acted accordingly. It's like knowing you're going out at night in the savannah where there are lions that have been known to kill people. You don't hate the lion but you don't go outside unarmed Remember the mandalorians viewed themselves as a honorable warrior race but honor is in the eye of the beholder. Given the dishonorable tactics death watch used against their own people in Canon.
In legends during the mandalorian wars they kicked things off invading the Republic not to mention the genocide and near extinction of the Cathar race. They had no qualms about killing innocents en masse they may have thought themselves honorable but they were more like a horde of orcs in the mandalorian wars that had to be stopped.
Someone observed that Jedi avoid attachment, while Mandalorians revel in it, expressed as incredible loyalty to their clans.
Here's the thing, though, if you have an ideology that elevates the in-group, eventually you are going to see people outside your in-group as enemies, which explains why the Mandalorians are so often at war with non-Mandalorians, or with the other Mandalorian clans.
Where can I find that dope Star Wars background track?
The old republic comics are probably my favorite Star Wars lore, The Qel Droma family is so awesome, I can’t wait for that lore video, the Krath chose violence
If they were such enemies, why didn't Din Djarin ever even hear of the Jedi before the Armorer mentioned them to him?
He was around 10 years old before he left Mandalore and became a lone wolf even if he learned of the war he would’ve most likely forgot
thanks for the video. I also hope they do some sort of movie/show set hundreds of years later where we see a peak-level Grogu doing good things and maybe even a quiet moment where he tells someone about all the teachers he has had in his 6-8hundred year, but that he has had one father, a Mandalorian. That would be such a huge moment to tell fans he never forgets Din Djarin even hundreds of years later :L probably a bit optimistic they'll want grogu to stay young and cute for as long as possible but we can hope!
Who here loved mandalorians even before there was a show?
John corrected his statement that Grogu trained for 2 years with Luke on twitter, he meant two years had gone by since audiences saw it.
Definitely loved this upload, learned a lot in here.
Concerning the story of Grogu:
I believe it would be interesting to see Grogu turning into the dark side after Mando's death (since he is deeply attached to him), seeking revenge from whoever was the reason for Mando's death. And of course, he will be the successor of Mando, wielding the dark saber and using the dark side of the force, thus no one will be able to challenge him. So, we will be seeing Grogu leading the Mandalorians to seek revenge for Mando, and after he achieves this, he will rebuild Mandalore in its strong form that once existed, and he will achieve even more with Mandalor as he will live more than Mandalore the Great.
Tbh i think that would be too obvious.
It would be so much more interesting if Grogu remains in ths light while becoming a Mandalorian. Having the Mando'a aligned with the dark side isn't an original or interesting idea.
As long as Grogu has kids with a Wookiee and there are massive hairy Yodas running around I’ll be satisfied 😂
That’s an awful idea. Also if Din dies of old age Grogu should be fine.
I got a theory that Din might be aging very slowly because grogu using force on him to stop him getting old
@@ArsenalTheoryPodcast hmm this could actually be possible, him using the force subconsciously to keep Din young
Yes please do a video on the Krath! They are mentioned in the KOTOR video games and their weapons and armor that you can find are some of the more powerful items/artifacts in the game.
I'd love to get a flashback of some old Mandalorian wars... maybe with Canderous Ordo from KOTOR! Man, KOTOR was so sick... Great video man. The Mandalorian is so freakin great!
Maybe just me, but it would be cool if Grogu were to fashion his armor into a mech suit. Think of a Gundam but normal or slight larger human size. I just think this would be practical both in universe and real-world production. The idea of Alphonse (Fullmetal Alchemist) also comes to mind.
To quote a famous movie character: "Fear is the path to the dark side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." - Does this means that the Jedi were more in line with Sith at that time?
2:01 “Fear is the path to the Dark Side. Fear leads to anger. Anger leads to hate. Hate leads to suffering." -Master Yoda would disagree with that characterization
disagree with the "Jedi HATED" header because the true Jedi never hate.
What comic strip is featured in this video? Hey Theory you should really put references for viewers that are interested in reading about this content for themselves
Its mostlikely because of their way of life and the whole family tree cinario jedi can't be attached and get married and mandalorians can it's quite simple if you look at it and also makes me think how grogu will evolve throughout the series. But I like your thoughts on this it's better for the jedi and the mandalorians to team up and be united as one
But Luke's New Jedi Order changed all of that. In Legends, of course. He wanted to make sure that his order didn't follow the mistakes of the old Jedi Order.
It would be great if Disney took some of the legends books and turned them into something for either the big screen or a + series. Reven or bane would make great shows or films.
I believe the time gap is between the season two finale and the post credit where BoBF was annouced
Loved this video as someone new to the Star Wars universe I was very intrigued with why they hated each other so much. The Mandalorian made me a huge fan on start wars.
Hey theory love the vids just wanna see your opinion on this topic, since ashoka knows luke do you think that she also trained him in the ways of the jedi and further his studies into it and guided him on what to do and what not to do or do you think luke just winged it
??
reminds me of KOTOR 2... Such a good game
To this very day, I still have both KOTOR and KOTOR ll The Sith Lord's on original Xbox.
I highly recommend playing kotor2 with tslrcm. That version adds so much more depth into the story, but you can only play it on steam.
Another great video Theory. Much love bro
You missed republic commando books and boba and his rule being manda’lor
Great video theory.
I would like to see a video of Legends: "The Mandalorian Jedi Wars" of Revan and Mandalore The Ultimate!!!
The solution is simple, more Mandalorian-Jedi characters. Even one, perhaps Grogu, could undo generations of hatred. Especially with both groups barely clinging to existence and seeing the empire as a common enemy.
Mandalorians and Jedi are natural enemies.
Like Mandalorians and Sith
Or Mandalorians and The Republic.
Or Mandalorians and Mandalorians.
Damn Mandalorians, they ruined Mandalore!
Jedi+Clones vs Mandalorians = greatness of story!
I’d love an animated series on the wars of mandalore!!
great summary, thanks!
it would be amazing if the armorer or someone talked about the mando/jedi war again in a future episode and they actualy showed a flashback of mandalorians and jedi fighting,,,,
HP Theory music in this channel? I like it :)
I much preferred the Mandolore described in canon and novels BEFORE Disney got their hooks in it. In it Mandolore was a worthless barren rock of a planet glossed over because it's only main ore was a "junk" iron that crumbled during casting. Thus, having such low property value, was settled over time by ex-soldiers "leaving civilization". As a result of soldier culture, Mandolorians tended towards specific traits exhibited by soldiers and the planet's main export was professional soldiers.
And even their creed is warning of outsiders, never taking off your helmet or your armor, ect. The same lines you hear from soldiers leaving their war or politics behind.
I don't know why Disney (or a lot of other authors in other stories for that matter) try to glamorize a reactionary practice as some sort of holy grail or the such. (It probably reflects how little they know of their own religions, but I digress...) If one goes through history you'll find the most confused traditions that originated from the most simplest of events but it won't sound sexy, because it is usually out of desperation.
After Episode 2 from Season 3, I think it would be interesting if there was a series created (with the right people at the helm) to show more of the history in the Old Republic era of the conflicts between the Mandalorians and the Jedi.
I was thinking to myself what was the point of the mandalorian. Now I understand. I hope it’s not used to lead to episode 7 though.
I watched rogue one yesterday and now I really appreciate that and andor. I am going to rewatch solo next.
This is top tier theory video making
@Star Wars Theory Now we know Grogu was with Luke training for two years, would that mean it is seven years after ROTJ now? Or are the two years of training included within the 5 years you mentioned in the video, after episode 6?
So they basically had conflicted ideas and views but didn't have a sitdown to talk shit out....😅
Imagine if the Jedi and Mandalorians were allies....
they really ought to canonize Tor Vizsla and show how he weaponized the Jedi against Jaster's Mandalorians
Been waiting for this one!
Thank you for this video.
6:50 I thought the Armorer specifically told Din to go find the Jedi & reunite Grogu w his own kind?

How do you go through the Mandalorian wars without mentioning Revan and the renegade Jedi that fought them? Also the Mandalorian wars ended on Malachor V not Mandalor
Too bad the actual show doesn't tell us ANY of this
May the force be with you
They should work together. They are both knights in their own way. Mandos fight to defend and become Jedi later in life where they are wiser and more diplomatic. Jedi stay out of conflict and avoid being generals while Mandos defend the galaxy the traditional way. Something like that. There is definitely some sort of force dyad thing going on with Jedi and Mandolorians.
Forgot to mention Jedi Knight Revan and the major battles he won against the Mandalorian’s killing Mandalore the Ultimate…who said he was deceived by the Sith. Probably didn’t help the relationship between the two when he hid the helmet lol
Pretty Ironic that the Jedi hated the Mandalorians considering hate leads to anger, suffering and etc. which isn’t part of their philosophy
What's that mando remix in the background?
the mandalorian wars pretty much
I love the contrast we see between the Jedi being more eastern (ie. Samurai) in their ideology while the Mandalorian are more based on western warrior cultures like the Greeks and Romans. Fascinating stuff
Best video theory very detailed and explained
Was also mentioned in rebels
I wonder if some of the armorer clan will want to remove their helmets and join bo katan, same with din jarin, and will grogu play a part in it?
Anyone know where SWTheory finds music for his videos?
That was sentiment exactly: the series isn't about Din Djarin. It's about Grogu, who will eventually become a Mandalorian and the Mand'alor.
"As always, my fellow Jedi and Sith friends..."
"AND Mandalorian!"
Thanks 👍🏻
i have an image in my brain of a young grogu (maybe about 300 y.o) holding both the dark saber and a new red saber crafted by him
ello nice vid bro
What about Mandalorians and Sith relationship? Specially between the most aggresive mandalorian factions and the sith (they have violence in common)?
They reference the belief the Jedi and Republic viewed them as a threat because over 1000 planets where occupied and controlled by the Mandolorian's before the destruction of mandalore.
Nice video
Maybe Luke's training of Grogu seemed short because two years in Grogus life is like two months to him.
The reason Mandalorians hates the Jedi. Because their goal to conquer the galaxy was compromise by the Jedi crusaders called the Revanchist, led by Revan and Malak.
here's a thought, considering the fact that in canon Palpatine basically controls the events of the entire series through the use of manipulation, corruption, and the dark side of the force. doesn't it seem plausible that he would be the force behind the Jedi Mando wars? divide the only 2 armies that could possibly stand against you and make them fight each other.
it seems to me like Palpatine was studying Sun Tzu....just a thought
