Sadly not crazy at all. Welcome to Britain where people are marginalised and forgotten. If the house is so full of her hoarding she has serious mental health issues. I could cry for her but I know she's not the only one who's slipped through the net.
Contacted Ageuk, passes me on to the council/social passed me on to 101 for welfare check and then they say cannot do anything and try social again wtf
I suspect she has been living in the cars for year's moving on to next when it became too full to get inside anymore. Could have been triggered by mental health or bereavement. Some people can't bear to live alone in a house they shared with a partner for years when they eventually pass but can't bear to move away from the place they raised a family in either. I guess, in a broken society this would be the compromise to that, but it's no way to live either.
That must of been a shock, She does need help but I bet she just wont take it, You wont be the first to try and help but she will more that likely hate it if someone else comes to interfere as she will see it.
Oh that is sad, poor woman. Is there any houses near-by? perhaps speak with locals to find out if she just wants to be left alone or is in need of help. She sounded coherent rather than crazy and she was well-spoken, it may be that she is too proud to ask for help. I think discouraging other explorers from visiting this location is very important especially as she seems to be on her own.
Hi guys. My main concern would be - whether she owns the property or not - if she's living in the car, or rough, she's in need of some kind of help, possibly from Mental Health Services. It's not healthy in winter.
Believe she owns the house but noone longer lives in it due to it being hoarded and rammed from some pictures I have seen and then started living and storing things in cars
Maybe you could return in the daytime with some cat food (see if she needs anything else)and apologise again for your visit on that night she clearly loves her cats sometimes people who need help wont leave there animals to seek/recieve help she may have no family/friends..she is more than likely to tell you to leave again but you might be able to understand more about her in the daytime and what help she might need. Is there a house that is too full due to hoarding and that is why she is sleeping in the car? Its upsetting to see someone living like this i hope someone helps her
It is upsetting especially seen as the services refused to help but tbh I think after being asked to leave best to do that as then it would be a different story of trespass and nolonger civil
@BeardedReality the services won't help if she is refusing it and she was obviously going to ask you to leave, you turned up unannounced at night time wandering around her land I think anyone in that position would ask you to leave I don't see how it can become criminal as I'm not telling you to break any laws I was just suggesting you maybe did a good deed and dropped some cat food off that way you were not insulting her by bringing her anything just simply apologising again for turning up and you noticed she has cats so you thought you would drop off some food you video everything anyway so you have your evidence but if someone turned up snooping round my property i would appreciate them coming back and explaining in the daytime why they was there.
@shev5179 the difference between civil and agrivated criminal trespass is that once I have been asked to leave, if i refuse or return it is then a criminal matter no longer civil regardless of intention
@BeardedReality I am fully aware and understand section 68 of the criminal justice and public order act 1994 I'm not going to argue/debate about what I think I just put my opinion out there... as they say you do you and ill do me were all different and deal with situations differently.
I think she's looking after the cats I don't think it's her property because she wouldn't be able to run a property not if she's going to sit in a car like that😊 there's just no way ❤ thank you for the effort you made.
The woman seems to live in her cars now as the house is so hoarded and filled with rubbish - however, the cats do as they want and she feeds them looks after them
You should contact adult social care at your local authority, you'll find it on your local council website. It might have a contact to report a concern if not contact them directly - say you want to report a concern, that you have noticed an older lady who seems to be living in her car in a derelict property. They may or may not already know about her - but just flag it, they won't be able to give you any details but will be able to tell you if they are aware of her or not, if not they will investigate. Where I live, there was a guy who was living in the exact same way. He had a very big house, like 7 bedrooms with a drive and gates. He had about 4 cars in the drive and on the garden - the house was in serious disrepair. he never drove the cars - but just would sit in one of the cars all day, he would get a paper in the morning and then just sit in the car which was also full of rubbish. The story was he was the son who inherited the house from his parents, after they died he just couldn't cope with the house and responsibility of it but had nobody to help him and became a mad hoarder and ended up like that. Many people would try and help him, but he refused any help and didn't want to speak to people. There was one chap who had the patience to deal with him and he would speak to him. He would check on him and take him supplies, food and things like that.
