Greetings from a fellow Aussie who loves watching mudlarking episodes.
Thank you Doreen
Hello. I started watching your videos last evening and until after midnight. Really enjoyed each and every one. Thank you for such interesting entertainment. You are doing an excellent job and hope to see a lot more of your work in the future.
Thank you Janet, sorry I kept you up so late 😂
@@TheAussieMudlark I dread my bypap. The mask wrinkles my face and I hate the thing.
Love you clicking your heels over the great finds of today. I burst out in a great laugh, I've tried to do those and have never been able to. I can ride a horse, fly a single engine plane but not that! Oh-wahh!
Fly a plane, wow, that’s definitely more impressive than being able to click your heels.
I love the close-up shots. Its nice to see the finds so clearly. Very good day Mudlarking.
I loved those frames you put those token/coins in. They look really classy. Simple, but effective. Definitely a great day of awesome finds.
Some quality finds Aussie. My Grandad worked for United Dairies in the 60's at Watford Rd., Sudbury, Wembley, Middlesex
Thank you for sharing and I think the first object you found could be a book clasp. Good onya 🥰🥰🥰👍👍👍❤️❤️❤️🇦🇺
Yes, it could be couldn’t it!
That is what I was thinking.
Was a truly lovely day made better by all the finds.
Oh, i couldn't leave all of these Things behind. That Barrel / Bucket ... that rusted Hook ... the Cannonballs... it all looks so interesting ☺Greetings from Germany
Trust me, I would take it if I could. I live in an apartment so unfortunately (or fortunately maybe) I can’t take everything 😋
What fab finds! Congratulations!
Penn state misses your post, don't know what happened but you were one of my favorite.
GreT video as always, I love the blue and white pottery❤️🇨🇦
I love it too, thanks for watching.
Sunday coffee and TWO videos from my favorite Mudlark! I'm sorry I missed your live show, it was very enjoyable. Hoping you had some more great finds today Aussie! Thank you for taking us along with you. 🤍
I’m glad I helped you have a nice Sunday, that makes me happy.
@@TheAussieMudlark I think you would have enjoyed the rest of my Sunday. My friends and I went hiking in a local National Park filled with history of the families that once lived there. It even included an old moonshine machine. 😉It was a beautiful day.
Thoroughly enjoyable!
Thank you Kirsty
Brilliant brilliant! Excellent finds and very cool video :) thank you Aussie mudlark.
Thanks for watching Therese, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
You've scored some really cool stuff lately, good for you. Eureka moment!!!!!
It’s been a few good weeks now.
Great finds again, love the Token! Thank you x
Thanks Amanda, it is an amazingly old token.
Congratulations on such excellent finds! It is fun to imagine who used to own the finds - like that old traders token. So cool that you were able to trace it back to its origins. Poor person that lost it might have been cheated out of their pint for the day. Great fun watching your videos - very enjoyable and interesting! Thank you!
Thanks Robin, my imagine goes crazy down on the foreshore.
Lovely treasures found! What a joy to hang out with you again!
Thank you 😊
Hi Aussie, a great day for you today. I bet you didn't expect the crust to come off the grapeshot cannon ball lol. Beaut find. 👍
Hi Deb, I find so much rust covered junk down there, but I always get my hopes up when it’s roundish
What an amazing day! Could the wood with a lock in it have anything to do with the peers and the cages they hung them from? I'm sure they have proper names that I'm not saying LOL I really like that you focus on one trip and what you find or what you don't find that way it feels like we're right along with you! Another great video!
Thanks Stephanie, I appreciate your comments. Your idea of the cage could be right, just imagine that 😮
Greatly enjoyed your video! Fantastic finds on the Thames! Love watching mudlarking on the Thames. Best finds in my opinion are from the Thames.
Hi Pam, there is so much history on the Thames, it never ceases to amaze me.
25 minutes of joy. Brilliant stuff.
Glad you enjoyed it mate 👍
Loved the buttons, looked like you had a great day. 👍
It was a great day indeed!
Very exciting! Glad I was able to join you!
Thanks Lynn, glad you enjoyed it.
Great videos I really enjoy them. Exciting finds everything is so very old. Well done.
Why do you think they still leave the Hangman’s Noose up there. Is it for tourists or another reason.
Keep up the great mudlarking mate
Katie 🦋🇦🇺
Interesting video Andrew ..good finds. I love watching them being unearthed. What an amazing but creepy area 😘
Thanks Jackie, it is a bit creepy there but the history is amazing!
You need a garrett water proof pinpointer. That will help you identify those musket balls and precious metals. Nice grapeshot and button. Love the trade token.
That would be a good idea, thanks Norma.
Fantastic finds. My favourites were the trading token and the pieces of blue and white china. After such a successful day I’m sure you’ll be back there again soon.
Thanks Tracey, I think I will go back there again soon.
Great video love it when you zoom in and let us spot it
That’s good to know, thanks
Great finds. When I saw the token I thought that "C" was a moon and the dots were stars.
That is what I thought when I first saw it too!
Thanks for sharing your latest video 👍it was awesome, great finds😊.
It was a bit worrying seeing that bone, I didn't want to think about whether or not it was animal or you know what. But would you have to report it, even if your not sure?
Loved the heel kick at the end, so cool 😊
There are a lot of animal bones in the river, if you are sure it’s a human bone you should report it. Normally the only ones people are sure about are the skulls.
Hello, happy to see you and another excellent video.☮️🇨🇦
Hello Lovely, it’s good to know you’re watching, I hope you enjoy the video 😊
The Aussie Mudlark , wow, fantastic finds. So happy for you.☮️🇨🇦
Thanks, it was a fun day
Part of a tankard? Great adventure! Awesome haul
Could be! Thanks for watching.
Nice finds. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Teresa, it was a lovely day.
I wonder if there are any treasures in the Brisbane River.. I feel inspired!
I used to stare at the Brisbane River in Bulimba and imagine it drying up and searching the bottom 😂
fab video love the finds
It certainly was an enjoyable day.
Great token! Congrats
Thank you, it’s amazing that something from the 1500’s can just be sitting there on the top of the mud!
Great finds. Congrats
Thank you Pam
Hi Aussie, me here. That first item, l wondered if it was a tea caddy spoon. Not sure unless l sighted it.
Yes, that could be right.
Great day for you, congrats!
Thanks Jenny, it was a fantastic day, I’m glad you enjoyed it.
Rupert (the Chihuahua) and I loved both this film and your enthusiasm. Really lovely way to display your cannon and musket balls. They reminded me of planets in the Solar System. You are clearly extremely artistic. Are you maybe a Graphic Designer by profession?
😂 they do look like planets, I just need the sun now. And I studied Architecture, but decided to be a construction manager instead 😋
Knew you were the creative type. I used to be a Town Planner!
Hi, any advice for a Canadian to find a reasonable place to rent in London ( if there is such a thing). Would like to do some mudlarking and touring . Most shared places I've seen are for younger people ( I'm 55yrs.)
I wonder if the button is a militia badge , Surrey militias second edition button is very similar. Great lark
Thank you. I think a militia badge is the most likely.
4.19...looks like a book fastening clip for a large album or possibly a Bible.
The metal piece with the bumps could be a strapping on a trunk the knobs are the feet
Yes it could be! The bits that go in the corners. Thank you.
On that button: IV SLM - I believe could be the 4th Sussex Local Militia (or maybe another "S" location). Please let me know if I'm close?
I think you might be right Kerri, a few people mentioned to me that it might be local militia.
Nice trade token well spotted
Thanks Denise
Great finds! Congrats! 🎉
I want to know what your dream find is! 🦋
That’s a tough one, I’d love to find a big 9 pounder cannonball to display at home. But it would also be nice to find something old and gold and have it on display at a museum. What about you?
The Aussie Mudlark ...No clue yet. I want one of everything! 😂
I'm thinking the button could IV SLM be a police button ? South London Metropolitan. Fab video and finds 🙂
I agree. It's the starburst emblem with a crown and the letters iv SLM : 4th district South London Metropolitan. It's a historic dept I think. The crown gives the clue to the date (not E 2nd I'm sure) looks like Queen Victoria but need a better image maybe.
@@rachelnorton5427 .. Oh my word, I'm chuffed to bits I may have identified that button correctly 🙂 I'm a lover of old British black and white films so maybe that's what pinged my brain lol. Looking forward to 'Mr Aussie' researching this 🙂
Wow, you two really know your stuff. I know the M can often stand for militia, but you definitely could be right. I will need to do more research.
Some of those round stones were used as ammunition and they are older than the iron ones.
Lol it's hanged. Meat is hung, men are hanged. Strange I know.
Thanks for letting me know the difference!
Could the token have a crescent moon and planets/stars above it?
Hi Iris, I thought that originally too, but the consensus among others wiser than me was otherwise.
Incredible token! Imagine the poor bloke after he worked up a thirst watching a few hangings, putting his hand in his pocket and coming up empty! Fantastic finds this week, congratulations from Mt. Gambier, Sth Australia. On holidays, supposed to be in England this week,! Damn coronavirus!!
Your imagination is as good as mine! Sorry your not on holidays over here :(
The Aussie Mudlark Me too, supposed to be the trip of a lifetime, but at least we’re safe here in Sth. Australia. Hope you’re keeping safe too!✋🏻🇦🇺
Carol Lewis London will still be here when you do come, just a little bit older.
The Aussie Mudlark at this rate, we’ll all be looking like a Thames Roman coin,,🤣🤣
Looks like the lock from one of the wooden cages they were locked in 😳
Oh wow, imagine if that is what it was 😮
Great video and nice finds!!!!
Thx!!!
Thanks Tom, I certainly enjoyed myself.
Hi would you ever go to other places like rivers etc. Enjoy your videos.
Yes I would, but living in central London the Thames is the easiest for me to get to.
4:20 looks like hardware to an old trunk
That sounds right to me!
Hi, I think the button that you found is a local militia button. If you go to wilkinsonfscollection. com you may find out more. Great site.
Thanks Keith, I think that is the most likely option.
I would have bought that wood and metal thing. Think commerce please
Nice kick up at the end! Go Yankees! Woo Hoo!
👍
13.37 looked like a modern coin
Next to the musket ball?
I think I spotted a pipe bowl next to the animal bone
Your 4.10 find must be the mount of a handle of a pan or bucket.
That makes sense! Thank you.
15:20 looks like a sword in the water. Bottom right hand corner
I wonder what it was, it certainly looked like something interesting!
Button and a clock hand
Is It off a pair of moulded football boots ?
Maybe it was dropped by a pirate and its a curse token :) now you are part of that pirate.. In the night his spirit will haunt you :)
😮 I won’t be able to sleep tonight 😂
You Better watch out...it will be like in the movie ''FOG'' :) Revenge!!!!
Great finds, I love the way you have displayed them. How long have you been living in the UK? Looking forward to the next video.
Thanks Raewyn, I’ve been in London for 4 years now!
Lucky you, I imagine you working in travel or is my imagination running away with its self.
Raewyn Rush yes, your imagination is running away from you. I’m a construction project manager from Monday to Friday, sometimes Saturday too. But on Sundays, I’m a mudlark 😋
a latch from a trunk or chest
I think you could be right Dean!
A great day!
Yes, it certainly was a fun day!
button reminds me of the police motife on there hats, for me police or fire department.
Yes, someone else mentioned that too!
Don’t wear shorts you care aboot, then complain you’re “ruining” ‘em, you throw away stuff i’d keep!! Luv,luv, luv the music you use❣️ How can you see the minutiae amongst all the rest!? Pretty eyes! Next time, get dirty!!!!
Ok, so many questions, where do I start 😂
They are my old work shorts so I don’t really mind if they get dirty.
What stuff do you think I should keep?
Thanks about the music, thanks about my eyes 😂
And I only find the really small stuff when I think I’m in a good spot and I get on my knees!
The Aussie Mudlark!
Thank You for replying to my reply i have no further reply! I think this is my reply. Replied out. Peace out
The Aussie Mudlark Can't stop formulating replies to Aussie Mudlark in my head & now i figured it out.. You got all excited about being right there where the out of authority gallows were. Right there!! You find a portion of what could've been part of the hand built gallows & a keyhole. Looked the right age. You left it Right There!! You find a portion of a block & tackle, if you took that-it would've made a nice grouping. ❣️Who cares if they don't belong together just say they do.
The Aussie Mudlark Then you find the tiniest tiny little bead that you saw w/your "beady li'l eye"(which made me laugh) & you take that❣️❣️The whole thing put together: you don't like to carry anything heavy, you don't like to get dirtier, & nevermind , you like only pocket finds❣️ You are also fastidious. Am i right?
Gayle Reid oh dear, do you think that’s what the lock thing could have been 😮😬
you'd call a plastic spoon an incredible find, wake up to yourself
