    I've read somewhere that it is possible to find amythest on parts of the foreshore but have never found or seen pieces of it before, what a beautiful find. Well Done!

    Love it when you get so close to the ground, everything seems so big, the markings stand out more. Well done for Rescuing the pottery. And the two halfpennies make an old whole penny.xx

    A beautifully decorated lace aglet and an Amethyst! Wow! A question about the musket ball...the hole, and the flat area, did that mean it had been fired? Lovely to have you back Aussie!

    Great finds today. I absolutely love that purple stone/glass. It’s incredible to think that stuff has been in the Thames mud for 100’s of years undisturbed. I also love the pins with the very intricate heads. It would have taken some skill to do that along with good eyesight & they wouldn’t have had LED lights & magnifying glasses to work with either. Some of the stones on the foreshore are very pretty too. I know they are nothing special, but I love the shapes & colours. I really enjoyed the vid. Thank you.

    Purple stone appears to be amethyst crystal, but too cloudy to be gem quality.

    That lead ball with the hole in it looks like it was pulled out of the rifle with the screw end of the ram rod while unloading the rifle without firing it. Just a guess.

    To know if the gemstone is amethyst or in fact fluorite light it with a UV torch, if it glows is fluorite

    Amethyst is beautiful. It's my birthstone. I wonder how such a small peice of clay could curl a wig? However they did it it had to take forever.
