Such a Blessing she lived to see her 70th Anniversary! Like many other people, Elizabeth II was the only Monarch I have "known". It's going to take some getting used to hearing "God Save the King!"

Loved the video…the knife, the salt pot and the sweet little orange bird.
Was a year ago tomorrow that I left on my London and Southern England adventure all inspired by your videos!
It’s strange to see all of those places I stopped around the city memorialized for the Queen. Places where I stood that her procession passed over.
I’m a bit blue actually maybe it’s my missing London maybe it’s having such a permanent figurehead gone who seemed to bring so much regularity and stability and reassurance to England. I’ve been re-watching The Crown series and she just went through so much history and drama in both her personal and public life. Love and cheers to her and to you Nicola!

Hi Nicola, I had absolutely no idea that cruise ships could be in the Thames. I wouldn't have thought it was deep enough....amazing! How sad our Queen has died. Long live King Charkes III. Won't it be odd having a king. Here in NZ many of us are still monarchists. The funeral will be on TV here from 730 tonight, right through the night. I'll be up watching as long as I can stay awake. See you next time.

We are all amazingly lucky to have lived in her lifetime to see the most spectacular events she was part of. Thank you for continuing strong! Oh dear, Nicola you have gone and made me cry with the beautiful tribute to Her Majesty The Queen. I simply adored her and am mourning her passing along with Great Britain, the Common Wealth and the rest of the world. However, I feel that we are blessed beyond measure to have had her for so long and all that we benefited from her wisdom, grace, and determination to make this world a better place. By the way, it is nice to see your Mom and Dad looking so well. Thank you for sharing your mud larking adventures with us. Sending you big hugs and much love from Tennessee in the USA.

You always make my Sundays better. Thank you so much for letting us experience some of the tributes to Her Majesty through your eyes. The news has shown the floral tributes but not up close and personal. The school children's notes were so sweet to read. The drawing depicting her late Corgis welcoming her at Heaven's door did me in and I had to grab a tissue. You lost your Queen but the world grieves with you and for you. My sincere condolences, from Texas, U.S.A.

The pottery is Wedgewood Blue Jasperware. It always has Greco-Roman scenes. It is highly collectable. A friend's mother died and he took her collection to a flea market to sale. A few women went nuts over that Wedgewood stuff, and bought it all! It is 1940s-1970s.

I remember as a child seeing films on our tiny black-and-white TV...watching her coronation, and then visiting London one month later...the statue in Picadilly still was caged so that people could not climb it... standing in awe at the crown jewels at the Tower...walking through Westminster Abbey...as a student of history, I have ever since followed her life and have admired Elizabeth II. So the last 10 days have been my own period of mourning a remarkable woman...and I have been struck on a deeper level with the spiritual commitment she made to God and to you, her people...Through all the retrospectives and commentaries, and then the funeral services, I have come to understand what she committed to in that coronation ceremony, and the extent to which she honored that commitment for her entire life...We in the world have been blessed by her...Well done,, Your Majesty...Je suis si désolée, Nicola...😢💔

Hi, Nicola - Susan here. First, thank you for the tribute to the Queen. I got quite teary again, seeing the letters from the children. Most of us know her as "our Queen", as there aren't that many left who remember singing God Save the King.
I had some fun with the James Barrow Palmer name - he was an interesting fellow. Born in 1798, he gained the Freedom of the City in 1837 (through the Spectacle Maker's guild, but switched to Fish salesman within 3 months). He had two separate businesses in Lower Thames Road - he was a fish factor as well as a salt merchant. He was probably best known for selling Palmer's Sea Salts (so you could take the medicinal qualities of a sea bath without travelling to the coast). His fish business, however, was a bit more contentious. In fact, he was brought up before the Lord Mayor of London for selling bad fish wholesale (a case of bad fish, already rejected by the inspector, covered with a layer of good mackerel). His arrogance in front of the Lord Mayor almost switched it from a warning to a full prosecution, and he threw the fees and fine on the table, stating that 14 shillings meant nothing to him. He was married twice, was the special agent for a fine whiskey (in the '50s), and
once saved the life of a drowning man in Norfolk. My favourite endorsement that he used was for his Sea Salts - "Sold by all Italian Warehousemen"!

Wow thanks Susan. Brilliant info. Funnily enough I saw the info about the fish and the Lord Mayor online, but I had assumed it couldn't be him! That's just great that it actually is him. Susan. Thank you for this wonderful information. In the limited research I have done, I did find out he was a fish trader. Nicola, thank you for your tribute to our late Monarch; I was very moved by your words and will be in London tomorrow because I was 'Made in The Royal Navy', having served our Queen for 30 years and want to pay tribute myself. Your using a jolly form of Pachelbel's Canon towards the end of your video was most fitting. 😊
Sorry, I know nothing about Wedgwood, but dislike seeing cruise ships in the Thames because when moving, their wash, even at very low speed, can cause erosion to the river banks. Nicola, I love your mudlarking orphans, your marvellous collection of pipes and your gentle passion over all your finds. This evening you made this video very special, which was appreciated. Wishing you all the very best, Wendi 🌻

    😁👋👍👍👏👏💕🙏🏻
I always love your background scenes of all the animals and such. But the tribute to the Queen was an unexpected treasure. And totally appreciated it's so beautiful. Quite lovely to see the cards and flowers and with such detail. Thank you.

A great lark, once again, Nicola! The Wedgewood shard looks like the seated person is feeding a mythical hippogriff. A magical beast like Buckbeak in the Harry Potter series.

Loved you Tideline video, as usual. And then, just when I thought I could not shed another happy tear for Her Majesty, you pulled a few out from me w/your vid. What a grand lady she was, and is.... She is now enjoying NOT being the center of attention. Well deserved Queen Elizabeth, a Queen for all ages.
Thank you Nicola. You are as awlays, amazing with your videos that put smiles on our faces, and educate us on Thames History. God Bless you!

Need to train those ducks and geese to hunt for all your mudlarks. They cackle when they have found a marble, pipe, pottery, glass, etc - and they get fed a kibble. Definitely makes for compatible mudlarking !

I have been watching your channel for the last couple of years and enjoy your brilliant descriptions of your finds in the round up, you must spend some time researching your finds and giving us an insight into the history of your artefacts, thank you very much. The music for the footage of Green Park was excellent, one of my favourites. My Dad served Queen Elizabeth's father in WW2 (an Irish volunteer) so he was the same generation as my Dad. May she rest in peace, a great lady. Thanks again a d I have finally subscribed.

Thank-you! A wonderful lark and a beautiful tribute. I hadn't really thought about how very many small children in the UK would be grieving her loss until I watched this video. I am so sorry for her passing, but so grateful that she was. ❤

After spending all day watching the Queen's Funeral proceedings, I wasn't going to look at UA-cam. But I did and saw you had posted and, of course, there was only one video I could watch. Thank you for this video, it struck just the right chord and the end tribute was wonderful. The choice of Pachelbel canon was perfect.... RIP Your Majesty...
