😊@@ThomasthetankengineE2
That was cool
The JVC sub at 0:48 was the exact same model that Sam/Barevids spend many videos fucking around with. Brings back a lot of memories of the early days of youtube!
It really does have history haha!
@wdbaudio Why haven’t you been uploading?
you know it will be a good day when garret uploads

Those sound bar drivers look just like regular old speakers used in CRT TVs.
More like a flatscreen speaker. Crts used bigger and better drivers than those
my crt tvs have more or less those same drivers
@@RedNoise-hz5nh does yours have subwoofers?
@@theloudspeakernerd-tlsn9322 nah just little ones
I was thinking about this for a bit - Where did I see these drivers before... flat screens use longer versions the cheap tvs have them free air and frames made of plastic, some nicer tvs have something like it in a nice compact enclosure, CRT defiantly would have some especially the compact ones
But this driver bugged me and it came to me -- its the exact driver build of them plastic 90s budget PC speakers! old stock they are using up? haha or maybe a new version of it that takes decent power
I did not realize the size of your bookshelf speaker collection XD
Ill prob keep the higher end sony system but the rest im going to pop 😋
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkat that'll be fun 😆
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkat please try hooking all up at once, that would sound so crappy probably xD
Yeah I saw the Great Wall of Garrett (the bookshelf speakers) and thought "Yeah, he's definitely making a video where some of those are gonna meet their maker." 😂
Also, did you ever blow up that Bose Acoustimass sub or did something happen? Like decided to keep it, someone else needed it/decided to pass it on to someone who needs it, deleted/corrupted footage, etc...? Just was curious because it has been a good while since you made the post about it.
@@SiameseCat1 im just super behind on videos, been taking inventory of what i have for video topics and found more parts from another set that actually, someone took a sub apart but i got the drivers and back plate of the same cabinet i had
god!!! iv been watch this channel for about 15 years pulse and never gets old.. garret you are the UA-cam GOAT!
2:20 I had that same sub, I blew it up not realizing the actual shitty speaker was on the inside 💀💀
They are pretty good subwoofers I have one it absolutely thumps in my 2.1 system and it sounds very good and can't complain coming from Panasonic
Panasonic are actually very good and been making high end audio equipment for decades under the Technics brand not surprised the Panasonic driver was the best out of the bunch@@kailumgg7736
Man that little sub with the passive was super impressive
I kept thinking that too, but i had to toss like 500 watts of super clean power into it to make it shine, it has worse efficiency of anything ive seen
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkatYeah I had that exact same one. I had the same reaction. Useless without a ton of power, which I didn’t have. I thought it would sound terrible to be honest. I prefer the Bose acoustimass to this.
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkat ahhhh yeah it's probably 10 ohms or something crazy.. that's how they make the 250 watt claim... mmm garbage
@@delpsdayoff3372 I still have the driver from mine. It’s no less efficient than your normal 6.5 inch sub driver. I prefer it over the Bose drivers, and most other 6.5 inch HTIB sub drivers, but the passive radiator idea wasn’t well implemented. It seemed to be a strange weight, probably to tune it lower in a small box. It took all the power the driver had to even start to move the passive radiator. I bet the home theater in a box amplifier unit it came with had super powerful amp, loads of DSP, or both, to drive that sub.
For a moment I though my monitor messed up at that intro. 😂
Right! Thought my Mitsubishi DLP shit the bed for a minute. Quickly realized it’s rear projection. Not LCD😂💀
Those Sony sub's did have a decent amount of excursion :).And than that Panasonic what a impresive little bugger.
My man's still at it after 10+ years.
I have several of those little Logitech Bluetooth Adapters. They do great for the price. Glad to see the infamous Garret notification pop up. Nothing more entertaining than a Garret Video.
29:38 Misty be like: Jup, just another speaker blowout day. All normal.
I had one of those Panasonic’s and it was impossible to kill until I gave it 800 watts for like 10 minutes
Resistor. That's the reason
Lol, the Peavey amp is the true unsung hero here - took 2x 1.5 ohm subs like a champ. I wonder what the coil resistance was on them.
Hmm maybe thats why the amp fan was singing away aahahaha -- I should have put a meter on all of them
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkatwhat is age wattage of the sony 6.5 inch, the one with white area in its cone at 16:00, i have this extact subwoofer from the sony home surround system but the dvd spoiled, so i dont know the wattage of the sub.
@@GarretClaridgeMeerkati am trying to buy a amp for it, but without the wattage of it, i can't buy one
that intro is sweet
That last speaker was crazy🔥
Thoes panasonic Kelton subwoofers are very impressive I use one in my 2.1 system and they just rock love it
Haha nooo way!
We used to have that exact Samsung soundbar with that Subwoofer! And the purple connector!
I opened the video, I was shocked, I thought I opened something wrong
That sony with the silver ring was impressive. Long excursion.
I remember the first video I’ve ever watched of this guy was him blowing some pink foamed surround speakers, Cerwin Vega I believe…
Got me plugging in speakers into walls and taking apart devices. Making me interested in electronics and ultimately convincing me to pursue industrial automation (Programming and repairing conveyers and robotic arms n such). What a ride… thanks bro!
love that garret still uploads been watching for so long!
I always get so exited when you upload!!!😁😁😁
me too
🎉❤
Woo, more speaker blow outs (and cats). 17:43 speaker flamethrower!
29:23 we have the whole speaker system sub and player downstairs actively being used
i'm so glad to see your blowout speakers. and i love the new intro
God damn that intro man! Long time no see btw
Iam glad that you're back. I felt a massive lack of speaker destruction!
Made my day even better watching a video from Garrett!
I anticipate the special moment I tell you to hook up the motor to an inkjet printer arm up like a speaker and watch it Bass😅✌✊ stay strong Garrett
eyyy love when you upload
Those Samsung oval speakers take forever to break in. I got one for my mom, and decided to work the speakers in and it took around 3 months.
Hahaha;love the new destruction video Garret!
Omg cool garret keep up the good work
YO FINALLY THE LEGEND IS BACK! GARRET IM A HUGE FAN OF U!
Simp💀
Wtf bruh💀
He ain't simpimg
@@user-df5gm6kl6u fr
Glad your still kicking!!
The unknown speaker driver I've seen before in a Phillips set I just can't remember the model
Super great approaching to 100K Subscribers for Garret Claridge.
I always enjoy your speaker blowouts
Hey What sony stereo is that on the top, (MHC-EC55) or (MHC-EC77)?????
I have that exact Samsung sound bar in my bathroom. It kind of sucks. Mostly that it's programmed to turn off after 23 hours so when you want to use it it's always off 🤷
My last Panasonic sub changed my opinion on them, I had a Panasonic TV and it was good, and then so was that sub, it took its rated power and then some, without blowing, just like the one in the video, I still got the drivers around, because they come in handy for testing amplifiers
cool thanks for the entertainment you are my favourite UA-camer keep up the videos
100K subs. im so happy for you!!!
beautiful ragdoll kitty cat! worth subscribing definitely because you went out of your way to destroy some old speakers sad yet also impressed with that second to last one I personally wouldn't have blown it up it look like it was well put together and the actual cone was actually well made and not with some tiny ass magnet and over amplification.
Awesome vid! The Panasonic sub was really crazy and your experiments with the last sub were funny xd
Congrats On 100.000 Subscribers for Garret Claridge 🎉🎊👏👏👏 Super Great Success.
I was wondering, what is the channel you get your music from that you use in some of your videos?
Always pleasant to look at this violent performance again whereas many can consider you to be a fool. A guy who studies English at Russian university approves. To my mind, it's a fascinating present on Motherland defender's day as well
Finally new video!!!
Great video Garret!
You know what I just had a realization I think I knew since a kid but haven't started using it until a couple years back,
(UPC codes)! literally if you blow something up and have ideas to do experiments with eBay works alongside synonymous UPC codes! the possibilities are endless🙃👍
Aww yeah the king is back 😂😂
You made it 100k Subs congratulations 🎉
Are all the bookshelf speakers for the 100k subscriber special vid?
Will all the speakers in the background be in the next video?
Congrats on 100k!! I am one of the many who started watching youtube with your videos in about 2008 and this is so well deserved! :D hope you get your plaque soon.
The Peavey CS-800 would make quick work on those speakers.
You’re at 99k. Just 1k more. When you do hit 100k, I’ll be honoured to have witnessed such a milestone.
Just now curious about it, do you still have the Peavey CS-800 you used to use? I recall seeing it finally give up during a livestream you once did, and IIRC you even said you'd eventually fix it...
Is no one gonna talk about the cute cats lol poor kitty got scared
Beautiful long haired female Cat 🐈
Anyone knows what is the wattage of the 6.5inch sony subwoofer with part of the cone is white it is a little higher than the other one at 16:00
Love your videos :)
It's always fun to watch!
I wish you all the best
I know that CS-800 is still kickin’ right Garret?!? Keep up the great entertainment!
0:58 thats a GGEC driver. They made drivers for jbl and panasonic tvs. So thats most likely a panasonic subwoofer it came out of
You can see the other panasonic had similar model numbers
woah i found this channel again after seeing the first "fursuit drumming" video wayyy back.
Been a long time lol.
I remember seeing these subs whenever I went to a thrift store around 2017-2019, then after 2020 I just stopped seeing them, along with most other speakers. I do sometimes wonder where all the speakers I used to find at thrift stores went.
same, i remember being able to buy a decent set of floor speakers from my local goodwill for $10, and now there are almost none :/
So close to 100k!
YESSSS I wanted something like this so bad
holy crap you have a tonn of speakrs back there LMAO, those sonys with the golden cones will be fun to blow, they can take alot of abuse haha
Question: Who do you think makes the best DJ/Live audio line array sound systems (amps and speakers)? I’m thinking QSC might be the best but im not too sure.
Best line array is the CBT-36. Resolution of sound is that of planar headphones at live performance sound levels. I have that 12kW system on my channel if you want to see. No other speaker can compare for the price.
I'd say probably some more specialized brands like Funktion One, VOID, Turbosound or D&B Audiotechnik? JBL(together with Crown, having the same parent company) should be close to the top as well.
I love these videos
Let me know when you get a sony fst zux9 or a Philips fwm 998.
Seen your videos for years very lovely channel!
yooo the Hannah Montana guitar
We got smoke, flames, destruction, and cats. This is a good day.
I love the imacs g3s being used as a cat bed that is AWESOME!! ❤❤
Nice speakers collection!
I actually had those silver panosonic bass reflex bookshelf speakers on your wall. Never got to test them out cause I broke them open and threw then away
LMFAO THat hit the guitar made the cabnit of the subwoofer dismantle itself like a piece of lego😂😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 timestamp IS 14:06
HUGE congrats on 100k subs! 🎉🎉☺️
lmao I used to have that exact Samsung sub with the accompanying 5.1 system hooked to my PC. The sub is surprisingly decent for what it's worth, though the satellites leave something to be desired. Pretty annoying that you can't actually use it as a true surround system for that particular use case since it doesn't even have dedicated inputs for each channel, but that's to be expected from a consumer gear. Eventually got a (rather filthy but in full working order) set of H/K SoundSticks and it blows the Samsung system out of the water despite only being a 2.1.
Good times!
Oh this was a nice surprise on my otherwise lame Wednesday
HAHA he got the 60hz donut
(The Sony subs) used to use those things for portable speakers. Loudest 60hz from a tiny small box I’ve ever heard. But anything below and even above was just GONE lol. Driver is really stiff, resonates perfectly with that 50hz ish port tuning and box design moving extreme air at 60hz.
THIS IS VERY GOOD, GARRET!
I don't understand, if the speaker coil benefits from ventilation, which helps it not heat up as much, why do manufacturers enclose it instead of using some material that only blocks dust or a small metal grill?
Do you mean why they put it in a box? The box is literally the most important thing ever when it comes to speakers
Not the casing, I mean the speaker grille, the one that children always click on and it's concave. Since it cools the coil, it should be made of a solid but breathable, lightweight material."@@theloudspeakernerd-tlsn9322
NOTE TO SELF: Soundbars are not hammers
Mate Garret. Are you going to do a JBL video? With the flip 4 or extreme 3.
Holy shit! It’s been so long!
Sony woofers has a reputation of lighting on fire when blowing them.
Also, I have a feeling that the passive radiator would work well in conjunction with an 8" driver
25:54 POV every Honda Civic owner at 0.000003 nanoseconds after 3:00 am
Ah that kelton reminds me of the Logitech Z4
I love your vids Garret
I love your videos
Been a while since we got a blowout comp, love these videos!
3:08 yeah I have that exact same Bluetooth receiver. decent little unit. I have it hooked up to my outdoor sound system and the range is pretty good for the price.
26:00 damn that was impressive
Garret, do you still have the CS-800 around? I remember that amp from your early content, good memories
I do ! It's not working at all but I can get the parts to fix it one day, just very heavy parts to ship is all :P
That's good to hear, I remember you guys getting tingles off that thing trying to change the volume LOL. Hope to see it some time in the future!
Stupid question, but I just got some new Mackie Cr4x speakers.
Do the sounds you use in these videos be something I should worry about on my speakers?
Sounds are not the issue, it's signal structure on the mixer side, you are better to turn the amplifier up on the speaker before turning up louder on a mixer, often the yellow and red lights on the mixer will represent the danger zone where damage could occur
Got ya, so basically, like guitar, you're just over driving the SHIT out of those speakers, which aren't meant to be overdriven at all?
Appreciate the reply, just trying to learn more about speakers in general since they're a HUGE part in guitar tone. @@GarretClaridgeMeerkat
