What they don't understand is that the speakers he's destroying are cheap chinese junk . I see speakers like these at thrift stores everyday for basically free and nobody buys them . He's doing the world a favor and getting rid of them to be honest and he's funny . Most people are clueless when it comes to speakers or home audio in general these days .

It's just funny that the Sylvania brand is produced at Garret such as televisions and speakers and in Germany there are lights, fluorescent tubes and LED light bulbs from Sylvania 😂
I notice a lot of very cheap modern boomboxes that use a transformer always has that hum. I also notice that i lot of very cheap stuff is very light unless they have something heavy in them, when i wish that they'd shove a brick of metal in there so it doesn't float away, sometimes you need a little bit of weight, and some things (ahem roku) has no weight and ends up being hard to position correctly because the stiffness of the connectors ends up making the thing move around a lot when it could've been avoided.
The little tape machine reminds me of a unit that Techmoan tested a while back. Though it was under a different name, the unit itself looks almost identical.

Thanks for another upload! Sylvania is total cheap junk. Everything is plastic deluxe. The voice coils in those last speakers just burnt at the connection and not the coil itself!

Aaahhh you’re playing chrome tapes in that deck it probably isn’t supposed to play chrome tapes. Also, if the pitch wavering is noticeable and it sounds muffled when compared to any other audio source, the tape deck is probably crap. In this day and age, good tape mechanisms aren’t really made and I guarantee this is no exception. Good quality tape decks basically sound like CD quality and in some cases sound better than MP3s because there’s no crunchy lossy compression crap. I’m not being an audiophile, just defending cassettes and saying that most modern tape decks are crap.

Hey Garret! I love your Walkman collection! especially the TPS L2! does your one function? I have a TPS L2 and I have replacement belts for it. I had it for a bit and it got a but wobbly. but its getting fixed this weekend! nothing beats the analog sound of a record playing or a tape playing!

In future i recommend seeing if you can get your hands on a pair of mission 732 speakers. they are vintage (basically) and sound incredible.
Some people get their teeth pulled then replaced. I hope this is the case. Or we can see if he'll take donations to get some new teeth.
Did you use the Peavey CS-800 or Behringer iNuke NU3000DSP to blow these?
