It depends on the vehicle. Some trucks the AD runs on key on power, meaning that if the keys on, the AD is running. Most trucks, in the cab, with the engine running you can not hear the AD running. If you are hearing it very distinctly, you could have some kind of a restriction or as you said, there could be something wrong with your AD motor. Just make sure there isn’t a restriction or water in your fuel that could have contributed to the AD motor going bad (if that’s what has happened.)
wyattoneable your truck have a high pressure pump which pulls fuel from your tank and pushes fuel to fuel rails to injectors. Installing a lift pump would prolong the life of your high volume pump by pushing fuel to pump. It will also add extra insurance for filtration of fuel from water and trash.
Thx for the info! I'm a Hellcat muscle car guy down the road a bit from Thouroughbred in Etown area. I'm new to diesels having just got a 2018 Ram 3500 4x4 Tradesman Cummins w/G56. These videos are helping me learn.🤔 Thx again! Go Cards! 😃 JUST KIDDING! 😄
These pumps are designed to be standalone. If you continue using the OEM pump it can cause a restriction. We would not recommend going the assist route. Either use the stock pump or go with a standalone unit that replaces the stock one.
@@thoroughbreddiesel I have not put the auxiliary fuel pump on yet. But that is what I was wondering about. Whenever I'm driving it, it shudders runs fine for a second shutters run fine for a second and shutters until I just pulled off the side of the road shut it down, and then it'll fire back up and run fine. So I put new fuel lines on it and a new lift pump I changed out the filters. but now I think it's in my sending unit because that plastic housing on top where you connect your fuel hoses the connectors you can take your hands and you can just twist them around. So I'm just wondering if it's sucking air around those connectors maybe the grommets are wore out. But now I was thinking about putting a electric fuel pump inside the tank but a factory one won't plug into my wiring harness. but see my truck is a 94 Dodge Cummings 12 valve everything is mechanical
I knw this is a better system than factory..But I have a stock 24valve 5.9 2000 model 2wd 3500 Laramie..The truck is a 155k truck..I just order a southbend clutch from ya'll..I Love my truck..Im getting all 200 plus horsepower to ths ground now..also how cold does it need to be to plug in my truck..Ps my truck has always turned over on the first bump..I knw theres a first time for everything..but I just dont think I need to spend 600 for a upgraded system..thanks for your time & GOD Bless to the Thoroughbred family.
This pump will save the life of your vp 44 without it I will dry up and your truck will now need a 2,000 dollar v8 44 replacement and a 600 dollar lift pump definitely a huge security blanket for a go 44 truck
My advice to anyone planning on Spending big money on one of these pumps, If your truck is completely stock just buy a pump in your local auto parts store they have lifetime warranty and run yourself a in cab fuel gauge just to know when your pump fails and prevent damage to your vp44
Are you supposed to here this pump run the entire time truck is on and running? I believe mine gave up on me today

Why do you support both air dog and fast….do you support one over another
