Had the same problem on 2 previous petrol cars, once it was the coil pack and the other time it was the oxygen sensor

Serviced one of these and I too found different makes of plugs in the engine. Turns out the previous mechanic was scared the plugs would snap so left them. Yes they were tight but the thought never crossed my mind. Lucky I got away with it ha ha

Experience pays off, I’m quite often the same chancing bigger pressure on bolts or studs than any of the lads. But it can sometimes go wrong 😬😬

Can't see the pub there in the background but hey it must be round the corner Peter, it is Ireland.

My brother actually owns the local pub, it’s called the PIG 😂😂😂

    Simple but important Peter.
Traditional long, windy comment incoming. :-) Had 2 Doblos in this week (I like 'em) - one has 630k Km up (1.3 Ecofart diesel), other has only 210k done - sameish year vehicles. Owner of the 210k one had been given fairy-tales elsewhere about needing a new subframe due to a bad clonking that was going to cost a grand...really a shock top bearing gone, €45 part, €150 fix. 630k one was just in for service - but that's some going for a little 1.3?
I also discovered the hardest job going today - bar none. I'm no cissy, but I was ready to quit. What was it? Remove the back bumper from a customers 90's VW Corrado in order to repair rust poking out from behind it. 4 bolts, slides off.. simple, right? Yeah.. heads corroded on all 4, they're deep recessed & all 4 were stuck fast with rust. To add to the fun, the last crowd to "repair" it had welded a plate over the entire area where 2 of the bolts live under, meaning I had to do the "Psychic Susan" stuff with a drill in order to find them.. Then make the holes big enough to get a 17mm socket in. Which just spun on the corroded bolts.. As did a 16mm hammered on.. I drilled the head off 1 bolt - which chawed every bit in the place as paradoxically, while rusty, the bolts are also as hard as the hobs of hell. That cured me of any notions of drilling the rest.
I gave up & focked off for coffee with the Missus after hitting the thumb full force with the big hammer trying to bash on a 15mm socket to the next one. How sore? All the sore. After I recovered from the fit of cursing that induced, I got my absolute favorite little Lidl set of sockets - joking aside, I love them - 3/8 drive, whole set cost 15 quid, but the quality is off the feckin scale - an anomaly. That Lidl socket tapped on gingerly, (16mm) gripped them rusted 17mm bolts so tight, it wound the other 3 right out using a 2 foot tube on the ratchet, where King Tony, Snap-Off & Kamasa "quality" sockets had all failed miserably to get any grip on them whatsoever. Go figure - simple stuff, but important.
3 hours to remove a bumper.. bet the "Book Time" is 10 minutes.
Hope all is good with the Kennedy Clan. Regards from Kildare. :-)

I quite like the little Doblo too, a great little van.
That set of sockets sound good, fair play for not giving up on that one. Rusted bolts can be testing 😬😬
One of my lads paid €700 for 5 Snap on ratchet spanner’s today, fantastic spanner’s and guaranteed for life but he actually looked unwell when he left the truck 😂😂😂

Bought my first scanner btw - never bothered before as I am supposedly/foremost a body/welding worker - went for a Topdon unit after watching 1000's of videos - middle of the road unit, limited functionality, but a huge leap for me. I spend half my life fixing stuff you are supposed to use a scanner for, despite not owning a scanner, up to and including pcb repairs... I solder a lot..
Worked on 3 cars the first hour it was here, lol - my new "P.O.S" scanner - abs fault on a Patrol, front O2 sensor on a Daihatsu & injector misfire on a Fiat - no P.O.S scanner ever got worked harder in its first hour. :-) Paid for itself in about 30 minutes. Will I buy a better scanner? Yessir. I'm hooked.

@@kennedysgarage3281 another 2010 Doblo I bought lands tomorrow - bodywork issues that I will sort rapido. I'm starting to become a fan kinda despite myself. Guy down your way takes them in as trades against new - all have issues, but they are all issues I'm used to. It's like the Silk Road, lol - here will end up as Landrover/Doblo/Aygo central. :-) Car didn't cost 700 - let alone any spanner.. I would in my hoop. :-) If Lidl don't have it, Sealey will - or IGE. There's no end to dear tools - let's not. 700 for spanners??? Jesus wept.. Youth is a great thing, for Fap-off...

The Topdon is a fantastic brand, it is seemingly launch software. Once you get used to using them you won’t ever leave it down. It just gives you quick access to information that might be harder to derive manually. I’d say you’ll love it and get very good with it in no time. The very best of luck with it anyway James 👏👏👏

Cracked spark plugs are the most commonly missed misfire cause. Simply due to the cracks being sometimes hard to see and even new spark plugs can crack 😬😬

    1595cc.
Always wiser to replace all 4 , then to have the same thing happen in 500kms, 1000kms or , who knows when???

Thanks Peter - all your videos are relevant of course to the car in hand but similar issues could crop up on other motors so every video is always relevant :) - Just wondering - the old coils that you pulled were they genuine or spurious?

They were the original and genuine. I fitted Bosch and all worked out perfectly. Thank goodness, apologies for running behind on my reply’s Damien 😉

Do these cars not have Renault engines?
