    Top work as always. Kind of pathetic that someone had to travel so far to find a knowledgeeable and thoughtful mechanic

      Isn’t it a bit mad, but I have seen these slightly bent before & haven’t ever been too bothered by it. That vacuum canister is called the ‘Regulating valve position’ if you ever want to check it on live data, I didn’t know this before this car 😬😬😬

    You wouldn't belive but one of my subscribe had this fault recently. It happened to him after he done the carbon cleaning. Weird tho.
    Another great video Peter 😉 I bet it will help out a lot of people with p0299 if it's not the broken off wastegate flap. ✋

      Thanks @kennedy. I have a CX5 2013 2.2 drives good under 60mph but when you go higher in the motorway, p0299 comes up and limp mode. Switch the car on and off errors disappear.could it be the solenoids as well?

    This is definitely the honours course Peter ☺️ Where that solenoid is located is a right mish mash of tubes and other solenoids from what I can remember. Great to have found the issue and nothing like team work…two heads are better than one… keep em coming…crap count: zero 👍🏻

      Only experience can do that, its awsome work. Everyone thinks scan tools fix cars. This is a perfect example of that.

    I had one of these on Monday and told the customer the fault was the solenoid valve they needed the car desperado so I couldn’t even fit it 😂 I’ll expect them creeping in soon as like you said I drove it and sort of knew right away it had no boost whatsoever and suspected this valve as there was no turbo from the min you started the car but no noises untoward I pulled the upper wastegate or large turbo vacuum pipe and had nothing checked valve and no cluckity clickity 😊

      That was why I started recording on UA-cam first, so I could remember that problem I solved 2 years beforehand. And I do quite often look myself up if I cannot remember the fix, cheers Norman 🙏🙏

    Suzuki 1.3 diesel with DPF goes kind of infinite regeneration. After 40km drives DPF regen is completed but after an another 40km drives DPF regen starts again. If I cannot ride 40km in one shot the regeneration is continuous never stops :) No error code. No DPF related live data like pressure or temp or soot:( Found one faulty glow plug what were replaced(all 4) but issue did not disappeared. I measured the DPF pressure sensor signal with backprobe it looks fine and proportional with the rpm..(0,42V @ stall engine, ign ON and it is slightly increasing with revving, ground is ground, 5V reference is fix 5V)). I see minor black oil bubbling out of the pressure sensor hose at higher rpm at detached sensor. I removed the intake pipe and the turbo impeller has kind of hard to turn feeling but zero play at any directions...for test I detached the DPF sensor and was driving over 100km the dpf regen cycle is same after 40km drive the dpf regen is started without any pressure sensor signal! no clue what is wrong :( Unfortunately due to lack of live data pin in diag no clue what the ECU sees. I asked several local mechanics without any luck.... I cannot recall when the issue started as it is ridden by my wife....issue for my wife is grey smoke and double 8 l fuel consumption during regen :( and it is very smelly ... .... earlier was done DPF clean with MOTIP foam and DPF regen was not activated around 1000km long....

      It is most likely the egr valve sticking open slightly. Smoke test the air intake system and cover the tailpipe with a rubber glove. If the glove swells the egr valve isn’t sealing 😉🤞🤞

    John, all you Mazda issues seem to be on diesels, what issues do you come across on petrols ?

    • @kennedysgarage3281
      @kennedysgarage3281  4 місяці тому

    I have P2263 and HAD p0229. Turbo doesn’t work but DOES come on after driving about 20mins? Changed all sensors, wastegate is fine. Garage can’t seem to find the issue. Could you shed some light on this please

      @@Dududma take a look at Regulating valve position in live data on a scantool. Any good scantool will have ‘desired’ & ‘actual’ positions. It should be around 19 percent at idle. I’ll also send you another video that might help 😉

      @@kennedysgarage3281you’re a star. Another thing to note is we did a smoke test on it and the PCV/rocker cover leaked a lot of smoke. Now I’m not sure if it’s meant to release gasses but it seems like it could be the issue since the PCV is pre turbo.
