Thanks! I appreciate it. I used Chemical Guys trim protectant. I think it gives a nice matte finish and doesn’t sling or smudge, which is what I wanted for this specific application. amzn.to/3TqIE0T
Yes, I think it did actually. I don’t drive too often in the rain or on dirt roads for example so mine probably take less of a beating overall. But I think generally speaking, it has made them easier to clean during wash days 👍🏼
I thought about that as well, but with the positioning of the flap, combined with the smooth plastic surface, I don’t think it will be an issue over time. Especially since they don’t “flap” at all and mine really stays in place nicely. I may end up creating some type of protective barrier between the paint and flap in the rear. But for now it’s very solid!
@@21void5 Ahh! My bad. Yeah I have thought about that as well. Given that the threaded insert for the screw is rubber it seems to hold its position rather well (so far) but if you find a good solution as far as a suitable spacer please let us know here!
I like that idea! It did cross my mind. I thought about powder coating them. I have a friend who runs a business and he has a paint booth… I may look into this further 🤔 it would look good with the gloss black trim.
I honestly wasn't sure either prior to install, but, I have to say that they are hardly noticeable. This may be due in part to the fact that my car has a dark blue and black color scheme so it hides them better... but I haven't seen them in person on a light colored G8X. Regardless, they seem to be less noticeable than other ones on the market, IMO.
what an AMAZING video! I love the title too. Thanks for the love!
Of course! And thank you 🙏
Can’t go wrong w these man! Form and functional 🔥
Absolutely! Main reason I bought them 😎💪🏼
Great video! I’ll be putting these flaps in my G82 this weekend. What coating did you use for the matte look?

@@legacydriven Thanks! in hindsight, do you think that the coating actually did help repel dirt, and generally make the flaps look better?

I'm thinking maybe we can put some rubber spacers for the rear flaps?

@@legacydriven oh I'm sorry. I was talking about the spacers where the screws go in since it's sitting at an angle.

@@legacydriven definitely will do so. I'll test it out and update it here.
@@21void5 👍🏼👊🏼👊🏼
What do you think of painting the backside of the mud flaps black gloss? Would keep the coloring the same

@@legacydriven Doing this next week on my g80 - will send some photos when I’m done!
@@bilawals22 Yes please do! I’d love to see how they turn out 👊🏼
Which wheels, do they still offer that color?
These are the 826M wheels in matte orbit grey. I don’t think these are still an option as this set came on the 50 Jahre Edition
Awesome content!
Thank you! 🙏
I understand they're super useful, but not sure about the look.
