- In 1979 Tom Oberheim released the iconic OB-X synthesizer used by Rush, Prince, Queen and so so many more. GForce Software's OB-X recreation is the only officially endorsed plugin by Tom Oberheim himself. In this video I'll take you through all of my favorite patches! Mind-blowing stuff!

The preset at 13:50 seems the same as Vanity 6' "Wet Dream" (when they sing the word Ice Cream). A slight variation of that preset is also on Prince' "Automatic". Overall as an Oberheim fanatic at first glance to me it seems the original sound is emulated; to which extend would finally a side to side comparison reveal, but so far the authentic pad-silkness, rough but aesthetic brutality in unison anyway is existent.🎉
Great emulation of the undoubted classic! 😎👍🎹🎵🎶💥
Probably going to sound nice with mastering or mixing saturation and enhancements - or air enhancing lifting shaping
The first one sounds like the Tom Sawyer intro that Rush uses.
That's what it is meant to be emulating.
Man this thing sounds great
So incredible!
Bought this recently and it is amazing.
Glad you're loving it!
The "Hollow Leader" 10:43 preset finally got me! A few tones and the idea for a complete song immediately. That's what they call inspiration. 😏
That's the best - when a patch inspires you to create
Fantastic play!!! I will purchase
Really incredible sounds!
I have no doubt that the sounds this synth produces is processed and mastered very well when going through the post-processing or mastering tools/processing or will be immaculate, after extra soft clipping, limiting, compressing, smiley curving, chorussing, stereo-widening, etc.
A little 15-50 hz bass, a little 12-30 khz air, a little smiley notching in the midrange 2-5 khz, and it's definitely going to be chef's kiss. Maybe a little pultec style shaping or smoothing, de-ess and chef's kiss.
1st vst I got to have in a long time
It's actually pretty incredible
@@VultureCulture I see!! Well hear
This is what I call an authoritative sound, yet very open and detailed, soulful, full of character - probably easy to master or touch up in the air or silky. really authentic but can be very scifi futuristic, very Vangelis and ancient greek
@gossipboynyc9625 I agree! The best of both worlds!
Do you plan on making some presets for purchase?
I currently haven't been but enough people have been asking me that I might
Loving what I call "the OB Filter Face" where you have to use your mouth! HAHAHA!
Perfect filter face at :06 and then later at around 15:31! HAHA! Love this. want this. But now I have to go buy a damn computer.
Never enough Blade in there right VC?!! 😂
We're not computers, we're physical
