I've only recently discovered your channel and the tragic loss this community has suffered. You seemed to be genuinely loved by all the lives you have touched. RIP John, we'll miss your smile. I'm a new subscriber.
From one fitness pro to another, I honestly really like your approach to training overall. You follow the science behind how and why things work, and that’s always generally the safest and best way to make continued progress. PS: Glad to see you doing well!
There is so much great “teach a man to fish” content in this series. John, I know that feedback was mixed and response was low on these... but for those of us that understand the point you’re trying to poke us with, these “build your owns” are really incredible. Drives home the points you make in everything else you talk about- with the engage, explode, pump stretch exercise sequencing. Thank you for all you do, your teaching has changed my life!
John just wanna say I found you about 3 weeks ago and I’ve been watching all your videos. Each day I binge your workout videos on what I’m going to train the next day and concoct my own beautifully painful mountaindog hell. Honestly it’s brought my passion back for training again. It’s legs tomorrow 🔥🔥🔥
A pull day is just a back workout... Look at his backworkout, pick ur own exercises, and add 2 different bicep curls at the end of the workout that easy
The Mountain Dog Training phase style has helped me immensely. I've knocked my ego down a bit and traded some weight on the squat bar for far better activation and recruitment while squatting. The overall pump and mind-muscle connection has been great
John... You are the king. I'm still young to bodybuilding, but it's become a great hobby for me to destress from work (I'm currently working as a teacher in an elementary school). I've learned so much from you that I'm thinking about in my own training. Thank you John. Also, so excited to try this push workout!
hey John! this series cemented yourself as the best fitness channel on youtube. im amazed at how simply you explain every concept on lifting and health and how easy you make it for us to learn. I've learned a lot from watching your videos. just wanna say I look up to you and you're my fitness role model. keep killing it dawg
This interactive content is the best thing out John! You really out did yourself from both a conceptual and execution standpoint. Can't wait for the pull and leg day's to come out! Appreciate you as always. Stay safe y'all!!
Bought some adjustable dumbells as I don't want to go to the gym now. This series is like gold! I always wanted to get john's training plan...but for now...this is more than i could ever dream of
Wow! I started watching ur breakfast videos a couple of years ago due to the fact that it seemed, back than, that you had knowledge about what you were preaching. I love the way u have a reasoning for what you do, not just one that tells you to do this and this etc. I was searching for something new as im wa a bit bored, but this got me pumped for the upcoming fall/winter! Tried the chest workout yesterday and chose more of the upper chest alternatives, and im pretty sore now🔥
This is great, had adapted your usual 4 phases to PPL myself and ended up pretty close to this through common sense, but this clears up a lot of the specifics. I too found more exercises meant you just got nothing out of the last few exercises and eventually settled on 7-8. Thanks John!
Loved this new video concept, can't wait for the upper lower variant, although it was fun to look at my upper low split and change it up a bit thanks to these videos. Haven't thought that much about exercises that give stretch to a muscle as finisher exercises before. I keep learning new stuff which is awesome! :D
Still a novice in the gym and your videos are helping a ton, so thanks. Loved this video, but was wondering if you still plan on doing a pull and leg version?
I've become torn in my training philosophy. Natural lifters alway recommend progressive overload, include both volume and intensity, full range of motion and emphasis on compound movements. But enhanced lifters, though not neglecting what I mentioned, seem to emphasize more workouts that I would describe as 'fluff and pump'. Is there any point for a natural lifter to train like this? It really shouldn't be a huge difference between lifters(other than enhanced lifters get more results faster). I'm thinking of maybe just training like a bro and chase the pump more just to experiment.
IMO, both styles of training are important and should be included/cycled from time to time. Progressive overload allows you to gain muscle by increasing the overall tension placed on the muscle. “Pump” training mainly causes growth by inducing metabolic stress, another avenue for hypertrophy
Naturals and enhanced should workout in the same way. The difference between “fluff and pump” and progressive overload is for advanced vs Benin her to intermediate lifters. If you are already advanced and have a good strengh base, that’s when it’s best to change things up.
Often, the pump is a by product of good work, not a goal. Increasing volume, eccentric overload, supersets to get closer to failure or training closer to failure period will improve size, yet all factors give a big pump. Different to 5x20 cable curls with 7 reps in the tank
@@NoPhonesOnTheFloor I do volume and intensity. But I don't pump and fluff unless I am lazy. It's fun to train like that though, but I feel like I am indulging and neglecting to perform a more systematic approach. It's like the dessert of resistance training. Only for rare occasions. But I've been pretty consistent these past months so I might allow myself to experiment a little.
John thank you , I just finished up this push workouts an have to say it’s amazing I’m going to try your pull workout tomorrow. Did you do a leg video for this series of workouts?
Hey John as I'm natural would this push pull legs series be best or will the other series thst you are doing be all good for results for being natural as well? Cos man both these series are looking so good.. thankyou so much by the way
John, thank you for this series and all of the content you've shared with us over the years. I learn something new, even if it's something subtle, from nearly every video. A question for this series - would you have rear delts at all? I know it's mostly pull type movement to work them, but I've been including them with the rest of my shoulder work on push days. Thanks again...
Thank you John!! So glad I didn't have to wait for all the body parts to be done to get to Push Pull Legs. Question: I might have missed this, but why do we skip the Stretch phase for chest?
I do about 11 exercises twice a week for total upper body. Sometimes I'll include a couple for legs. Am I over training? I use perfect form and feel pretty good through it all.
Will a push workout of 6 exercises 2 for chest( 1 pressing and 1 fly) 5 hard sets in total 2 for delts excluding rear delts (1 press and 1 lateral raises) 5 hard sets in total 2 for triceps( 1 compound and 1 isolation) 5 hard sets Is it enough?
Insane workout John !!! i wanna ask something... this workout can be twice a week or you think maybe is too much? (i am training around 10 years) PS . Love the cluster sets :D
If you are on a phone you need to watch this in the UA-cam App
It doesn't work work on Chromecast sadly and I hate disconnecting it to watch the video in this series
Pls do one for home workout for body transformation
I said it before you’re the Bob Ross of bodybuilding, now I say you’re the Mr Rogers of bodybuilding. Ty neighbour 🤙🏾
Nobody has taught me more about lifting weights than you. And you’ve done it free of charge. THANK YOU John, we appreciate you 🙏🏽

Thank you for all the amazing content
Pls do the same thing for the pull day
A pull day is just a back workout... Look at his backworkout, pick ur own exercises, and add 2 different bicep curls at the end of the workout that easy
@@Sam-ni6bc but his back workout doesn't have rear delts, and if u add it it would be 8 exercises

Thank you John! These videos shld be made available only via yr membership site.
Hit the like button before the video even starts😂😂 i already know. Nothing but quality from Mr meadows💪👍

Made a chest workout and did it today, great pump
Cool vid. Seven exercises in one workout seems like a lot to me. I usually do three; sometimes four.
John thank you , I just finished up this push workouts an have to say it’s amazing I’m going to try your pull workout tomorrow. Did you do a leg video for this series of workouts?
not yet
I just realized the intro sounds like" HI BILLY MAY'S HERE" ❗❗❗↔🤙🤙🤙
Now it's time for pull and legs
That was a quick video.
I wish we would have gotten the Pull and Legs versions of this series
Rest In Peace John
There is a Back workout at least
I hope you do "lower body" next. That way you help both the push-pull-lower people and the upper-lower people. Besides, everybody loves leg day.
👍👍👍
hey John can you discuss progression for these workouts
Okay this is epic
Hey John as I'm natural would this push pull legs series be best or will the other series thst you are doing be all good for results for being natural as well? Cos man both these series are looking so good.. thankyou so much by the way

of course
mountaindog1 how much rest do you usually take between sets?
Thank you John!! So glad I didn't have to wait for all the body parts to be done to get to Push Pull Legs. Question: I might have missed this, but why do we skip the Stretch phase for chest?
kinda..we went stretch for triceps but used movements that stretched chest too
Heavens sake john. I did push yesterday. Bad luck.
Is this push, pull, legs once a week or twice?
John I need arms and shoulders workout
I do about 11 exercises twice a week for total upper body. Sometimes I'll include a couple for legs. Am I over training? I use perfect form and feel pretty good through it all.

not really sure if ghosts can read UA-cam comments, but I hope John realizes how much he meant to us and how much we miss him.
