Between MCU Phase 4 and Disney Star Wars I don’t think I’ll ever get into a movie or tv franchise again. I’m afraid to now because I know everything gets ruined in the end.

The director was a big mistake and we bought it. The Hulk and Goldblum was good enough for me. Fool me once, twice, I need self reflection.
Exactly, Ragnarok was the demise of Thor, not Dark World. People were fooled by Ragnarok by the bright colors, music and constant jokes, and were distracted from how Thor's character was being ruined.
Ragnarok is one of my favorite MCU films and I genuinely enjoyed the first Thor film. Dark World is too boring and poorly written for me, but upon seeing the trailers for Love & Thunder, I knew it was not a film I wanted to see in theaters. The fact that the green screen looks so horrible is utterly unbearable at this point. How much money do they already make for these movies? Where is this money going? I get that green screen can look wonky sometimes and it’s necessary to do for some settings, but this is just unbelievable. It’s embarrassing to see the MCU now starting to look like an SNL skit. The comedy isn’t even good for this movie, it’s just cringe. Maybe a younger audience will like it, but it’s just so annoying to me. Waste of Gorr the God Butcher and Christian Bale. Nothing new is learned from these companies because they just keep pumping out the same garbage formula with each movie downgrading it’s effects. Probably one of the ugliest MCU movies I’ve seen, other than Eternals. At least the CGI isn’t as bad as Moon Knight, but certainly the same amount of quality is given. You’re right, it just feels like something that you would expect for a Disney Plus spin off rather than an actual movie. Dare I even ask, what was the point to this film at all?
I said something similar. This should have been a Disney+ show and the Jane Foster thing should have been it's own thing. You wouldn't even have had to change much. Give Jane a Disney+ show that leads up to the movie. From what we saw, she had been The Mighty Thor for at least a few weeks before Thor shows back up to fight Gor. Then she gets the screen time to build up her arc for her heroics. Also, yeah, the comedy was overdone, and I found Korg's stories annoying. The first time was good, but he does it every time they have a backstory and it get's old. And once again you could fix this by making the Mighty Thor a series. That way we don't need those flashbacks.
“I’ve seen lord of the rings, they built shit…” love that Adam quote. I’m with you Adam-getting real sick of all green screen scenes. Have we gone back to the Star Wars prequels now??
I can see why people enjoyed this movie but I didn’t like it that much. It had some really cool moments (the black and white scene being the standout), Gorr was really cool and I liked Jane. The comedy just went way too far in this movie and as much as I dig Guns N’ Roses, the moments where their songs played felt nowhere near as epic as Immigrant Song in Ragnarok.
Respect your take on it and it's enjoyable as always. But doesn't the film show the reasons why so called Gods and Goddesses shouldn't be taken seriously and usually don't deserve respect?
I knew it was going to be a goofy comedy, so I didn't get upset at it. I do believe more levity was needed. Gorr needed more scenes, especially of being a "God Butcher" & even a conversation between him & Thor. But I had fun with the film. It's not great, but enjoyable. Beautiful to look at IMO.
I don’t see why ‘levity was needed’..... Only if you’ve never read classic Thor comics. Why could we not have a Thor film in the vein of Conan, or the Northman, or GOT?
I just saw Thor: Love and Thunder and it sucked. Did Taika Waititi hire the writers from Meet The Spartans, Epic Movie, Superhero Movie, Scary Movie 3 and 5 etc. to write this movie. It felt like Thor and the other characters were in a bad parody movie.
I'm a huge Thor fan, since the 1st movie and he's my favourite avenger, loved how they reworked the character in Ragnarokk but come on man, how the hell do you get Christian Bale as Gorr the god butcher and make it a goddamn parody. Ragnarok had comedy but the movie let you absorb the emotional and serious moments. In this movie EVERYTHING is a joke, i know that Taika is eccentric and relies on comedy to express Thor's pain and loss in a sense(at least that's what he did in ragnarok), but this is too much even for me. Not saying the movie was trash, but i was kinda let down. Sry for the long post, Adam - you rock, don't stray away from you unique reviews :)
Thor Love & Thunder was a nice little spectacle under two hours. Yes, this film did have way too much comedy and Gorr and Jane Foster belonged in a more serious film. Despite the off beat comedy this movie gave me Thor kicking ass and I enjoyed every minute of it. I'm thinking that James Gunn and Taika Waititi aren't as funny as they think they are. Maybe those two directors ought to focus more on character development and less on gags.
A film you can enjoy knowing you’re forgetting it as soon as you’ve seen it.Theres an astonishing amount of Academy Award winners here doing summer camp schtick. Ragna -Not.
I will see this in theaters but MCU has issues serious issues. they are leaning too much into the lighter side. sometimes darker things like the Peacemaker, The Batman, The Suicide Squad etc are better
It's sad this movie crams 2 stories - 1) Gorr's rise and fall and 2) Lady Thor's entire existence - into a barely 2 hour movie - and then dilutes it with too much comedy. We never really get to see many gods perish, or a serious arc with Thor and Jane.
I managed to go and see it last night and I’m incredibly let down too. I loved Ragnarok, I liked that they took Thor in a more comedic way but at least when that film tried to be serious, it wasn’t constantly undermined by a joke (maybe 1 or 2 times but nowhere near as much as this) Stuff in this film like Thor and Stormbreaker and the Goats would have been funny as a one off joke but then they kept going with it 😂 Great video as always man
Though Thor Ragnarok was a fun movie, it's my least favourite of the first three Thor's; it lacked the emotional weight of Thor's experience imo. Out of all the characters in the MCU, Thor's loss has been the greatest: he's lost his mother, his father, his brother, his best friend, his other friends, his home world, had to kill his sister and gone through depression; yet all this has been brushed over like he's some joke. I'll still go and see Thor 4 cause he's my favourite character, but yeah I'll probably be disappointed as well.
I enjoyed it, probably a 7.5/10 for me. I think if they cut out 30% of the jokes and gave Thor and Jane some more time on screen, it could've been a top tier MCU film
I love Thor Ragnorok but even it undercut it drama with comedy. The comedy was a lot. Characters were killed off with little emotion or care. The distraction of Asigard was played for a joke.
figures right - we get THIS as a movie but Obi-Wan as the series...insert eye roll...and now watch...we'll get a Jane Foster / Lady Thor Disney+ series
This was Thor Ragnarok very lite. This should've been more serious with some comedy sprinkled in. It should've been longer with more Gorr killing gods scenes. I hate to say it but I liked Strange MOM better. Strange MOM 8 Thor L&T 7🤷♂️
Anything good about Thor Ragnarok was already there before Waititi got involved. He grafted his improv style crap overtop of a pre existing script and you could tell. They got the wrong idea about the success of that movie. It was mostly due to the anticipation of Infinity War.
When I saw they were going lady Thor based off the all new all different Marvel (which sucks ass!) coupled with some of Taika's comments I knew this was going to be a hard pass. Then again I pretty much broke up with Marvel after end game save for a couple of odd old for old times sake tryst in the form of Spiderman far from home (which made me realize this break up was for the best) Spider man "No Way Home" (Which made me remember why I got with marvel in the first place) and "Dr. Strange And The Multiverse of Madness" in which a good time was had but it's clear we've grown apart and best we go our separate ways. I figured Thor "Love and Thunder" would rekindle the hate and disgust I felt after end game. It would seem (thanks to you Adam) that my assumption was right. I'd love to give to your patrion to keep your channel and reviews coming. However my money is so funny that it has it's own stand up special. So as soon as it gets serious I'll donate to the cause. Have a good day!
Great review man, as always. The whole bit about the music case study has to be true, these movies are becoming marketing opportunities for artist, and I don't doubt Disney's making those moves. Either way, checking this out this weekend, still hyped but I'll keep my expectation low.
Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.
Dreadful movie. The worst in the MCU. Disney's MCU is done. Brilliant review. My disappointment would have been immeasurable and my day ruined had I not anticipated arrogant Taika 'I'll ruin your mythos in a minute' Waititi would lazily triple down on all of the worst parts of Ragnarok (the 3 year old humour, FOUR Guns N Roses songs, FOUR!! the play with Matt Damon that, in Ragnarok, makes sense because Loki was being a narcissist, but here it's just done because it worked the first time) and coast it. 1/10.
Popcorn Mythology 1 hour ago I agree. I enjoyed the film but Thor’s personality was all over the place. I had no issues with slow shifts in the tone of a character or movie. But these were so disjointed, there’s no explanation for how Thor goes from an aloof idiot in the opening battle and throughout the film to sudden moments where he is (rarely) speaking seriously and taking his situation seriously. How the heck does he sober up enough to give that speech to Gor at the end and decide to go stand by Jane in that moment? Where did that sudden depth and awareness spring from when nearly every scene before that plays Thor like a clueless baffoon, a god who can’t take life’s real problems seriously. He destroys a temple in the beginning but in the end revered noble truths?
I was there for a fun time so thats what I got action drama gore and people say they handled Jane's cancer story bad but it was great the Hercules comes was cool but I will admit the weird girl at the end wasn't thr best but it makes more sense the title now and the Jane with Heimdal and it was a solid 9/10
Now I realised why taika waititi saying that Thor L&T exceeds Thor Ragnarok interns of comedy and I didn't enjoyed it's so annoying when you see Thor cracking jokes at serius moments like lady siff dying, corg literally broken into pieces, scenes and mostly hurt when we see they using Thor as cranking jokes like joker does
All the reviewers who I usually agree with (like you) are all saying exactly what I worried this movie was going to be. Kinda killed all anticipation to see this one

The positives for me were christian bale and natalie Portman's struggle with cancer, also female thor's armor was very good. That's about it, now the negatives lack of seriousness, way too many stupid overkill jokes, The Gods are so beyond ridiculous that is insane. What a way to missuse Russell Crow... the whole plot with the kids that are sooooooo afraid that needed rescuing to later enlist them as mini thors without any combat experience is spy kids levels of stupidity. Thors new armor looks out of TMNT characters. Btw Gorr daughter is indeed Hemsworth daughter in real life.
What a waste of Christian Bale playing Gorr the God butcher. He was so good but didn’t fit the tone of this silly movie. People were so disappointed with Thor the Dark world in reality Thor 2 was important to the reality stone setting up infinity war & Loki’s story. Anyways people hated Thor 2 so they “revamped it” with thor Ragnarok It got so much hype because of the silliness and Axel Rose Gun N Roses music that they let Tyka watiti or however u say his name have full rain over Thor 4. Ugh Natalie, Portman and Chris Hemsworth NEVER HAD CHEMISTRY!!

You know the Prequels actually used a ton of practical stuff too?
MCU has caught up to DCU, congratulations! Now we have 2 universes we care less about.
Atleast the DCEU movies took itself more seriously, and felt more cinematic.
We knew this day would come. It's like how The Simpsons can't be amazing every season if they make fifty of them. At least we can make fun of it!
30 mins in to the movie I looked at my friend and asked. What the hell are we watching.
😂😂😂😂😂✌️
Respect your take on it and it's enjoyable as always.
But doesn't the film show the reasons why so called Gods and Goddesses shouldn't be taken seriously and usually don't deserve respect?
This is my favourite review of this film. I really didn’t like this film and yes those goats were so annoying!
Your doing a wonderful job and your out classing the Angry Joe show
I knew it was going to be a goofy comedy, so I didn't get upset at it.
Adam, I want you to know amongst the sea of Thor 4 reviews, yours was the one I clicked first. Really appreciate your no-nonsense type of reviews!
Awesome dude, thanks!
We should've gotten a planet hulk movie
They messed up the hulk bad
They can’t they ruined the hulk. A planet hulk movie wouldn’t redeem him
Ragnarok was planet hulk. The closest we gonna get to it
Lol we went from zeppelin to guns and roses 😆 . So we are trending downward. So by thor 6 is it gonna be poison ?
Great White
They should've just stuck with Zeppelin. Plenty of other songs they could use.
One of the worst Marvel movies ever!
Thor is a clown now.
Phase 4 has been a disaster.
Maybe those two directors ought to focus more on character development and less on gags.
which is a better movie? thor love and thunder or batman and robin George Clooney?
A film you can enjoy knowing you’re forgetting it as soon as you’ve seen it.Theres an astonishing amount of Academy Award winners here doing summer camp schtick.
Ragna -Not.
Thanks!!! As predicted, I now won't have to waste my time on yet another Thor time suck.
I'm one of those who didn't love Ragnarok because I thought it had too much humor so I'm staying way clear of this one until I can see it for free.
I will see this in theaters but MCU has issues serious issues. they are leaning too much into the lighter side. sometimes darker things like the Peacemaker, The Batman, The Suicide Squad etc are better
Why the fuck are ya going to watch the movie ya just gonna waste your money mate
@@kingyt7224so people cant have different opinions than you is that what sayin
@@bigpapi3672 I'm not saying that but why waste money on a movie that Marvel will not improve
The "I can too" movement is saving me so much money in theaters. Thank you girls
Best review yet. 100% agree.
I loved Ragnarok, I liked that they took Thor in a more comedic way but at least when that film tried to be serious, it wasn’t constantly undermined by a joke (maybe 1 or 2 times but nowhere near as much as this) Stuff in this film like Thor and Stormbreaker and the Goats would have been funny as a one off joke but then they kept going with it 😂
Great video as always man
Though Thor Ragnarok was a fun movie, it's my least favourite of the first three Thor's; it lacked the emotional weight of Thor's experience imo.
They distorted Dr. Strange character, and in this movie they destroy Thor.
Thor been destroyed. This happened in ragnarok. He works best with the avengers not stand alone. Hulk was ruined also
@@kicknowledgesmith8608 At least we have America Chavez and Captain Marvel. Exactly what MCU fans were clamoring for🤣.
Annnnd of course they had to create a female Thor annnnd on the heels of a She Hulk 🙄🤮🎥⚡️👊🏻
What wrong with having might thor in the film?
She hulk has been in the comics since the 80s.
@@blackRXrider ahhhh I had no idea
How they cut scenes with Lena Headly Jeff Goldbloom and Peter Dinklage all had scenes with Bale..... I want a new cut
You mean the goat meme from 10+ years back 🙄
I enjoyed it, probably a 7.5/10 for me. I think if they cut out 30% of the jokes and gave Thor and Jane some more time on screen, it could've been a top tier MCU film
DCEU =Kobe beef
Mcu=mcdonalds
More like dceu is burger King
Yeah I'm one of those who thought, "Nope, some of these jokes are too forced" when watching Ragnorok. So I have 0 interest in L&T…
I still don't get why she does that pose when she catches Mjolnir.
I love Thor Ragnorok but even it undercut it drama with comedy. The comedy was a lot. Characters were killed off with little emotion or care. The distraction of Asigard was played for a joke.
Ragnarok was arguably worse in this aspect. Not sure why everyone is giving that a pass and not this. At least deaths have weight here
@@gbrogo7139 interesting 🤔
@@gbrogo7139 that is good.
How many days till the toxic fandom claim is rolled out in defence of this pile of crap?
Which ship is more popular?thunderwar or fosterson
figures right - we get THIS as a movie but Obi-Wan as the series...insert eye roll...and now watch...we'll get a Jane Foster / Lady Thor Disney+ series
Idk about Disney/ Marvel
Shang Chi
Dr Strange 2
Morbius ( not MCU but still Sony-Marvel
Now This...
Phase 4 Really Sucks!
Shang chi was good
This was Thor Ragnarok very lite.
This movie felt as if Jack Black directed it.
It just felt lazy and below the standard that Thor Ragnarok set
Christian Bale has had enough of “white guys” running everything in Hollywood and beyond. The actor stopped by AOL Build with his “Hostiles” co-star Rosamund Pike and Wes Studi on December 18 and told the crowd that the reason he moved to the U.S. in the first place was because he wanted his kids to grow up in a “country of inclusion.” Unfortunately, that ideal hasn’t been too much of a reality.
What's your point? What does that have to do with this horrible movie.....NOTHING!!!!
Everyone I hear millionaires rant about equality and inclusion I inwardly laugh at how much of a bubble they all clearly inhabit.
“Dont watch this movie.” - Adam Does Movies
Dreadful movie. The worst in the MCU. Disney's MCU is done. Brilliant review. My disappointment would have been immeasurable and my day ruined had I not anticipated arrogant Taika 'I'll ruin your mythos in a minute' Waititi would lazily triple down on all of the worst parts of Ragnarok (the 3 year old humour, FOUR Guns N Roses songs, FOUR!! the play with Matt Damon that, in Ragnarok, makes sense because Loki was being a narcissist, but here it's just done because it worked the first time) and coast it. 1/10.
U were ok with King Valkyrie?? 😅

I agree.
I find it odd they move away from the winter solder feel in a movie I wanted that is doctor strange and this movie
@PiffMasterG Gone With The Wind… 512/10
Christian Bale Says Hollywood (and the World) Would Be Better If ‘White Dudes’ Weren’t in Charge of Everything The actor says there would be "so much better films and so much more interesting stories" if white dudes weren't running Hollywood. Zack Sharf Dec 19, 2017
The whole I'm going to revive my daughter to then die so that my enemy takes care of my daughter was wack....but hey next they will appear in disney plus on love and thunder sequel.
Ugh
Natalie, Portman and Chris Hemsworth NEVER HAD CHEMISTRY!!
It's like a spoof movie in the range of Airplane and Hot Shots
AWE MAN ANOTHER MCU BOMB?!??..I Kinda been on the fence since Thor 1 & 2 in the franchise...it almost seem like each movie after Thor get's sillier & sillier as a character & being a fan of the original comics this def turned me off a bit...(however i thought it worked well in the Avengers movies)..Thor Ragnarrok wasn't bad though..all that being said it's disappointing to hear this New movie just sounds worst!!..just when I thought they could be turning the character back around 😕 Anyways Always enjoy ur Reviews! @Adamdoesmovies they sum how are more entertaining than the actual movies! & Always makes my day!! Lol!..Have a great one!!
Looks like Disney/ Marvel

Ill watch this when its free and I'm drunk
100% agreed. that movie was total shit!
After Dr.Strange 2, I told myself "never again 🚫"
Zero interest before I saw your video, -150% interest after watching your video.
I've zero desire in watching it and I've mostly been done with the MCU anyway. same with Disney Star Wars.
Portman was the first reason I didn’t want to see it. Her portrayal of Jane wasn’t horrible in the first one but by the sequel I couldn’t stand seeing her on screen.
Worst of all the Thor movies, yup even Thor2 .
I love Ragnarok. Top 5 MCU movie for me I think. And I think it has to do that it was a sleeper hit for me. I only watched it because it was playing for free on my campus at the time. I will see this just because I like going to the theater, but I will probably wait until I can get the theater to basically myself lol
Saw it last night. It was epic-cringe trash. The MCU’s equivalent of Batman n Robin.
They put a whole Guns and Roses album there, and the SAD part is that they used Dio's Rainbow in the Dark for the credits....
Great review. It could have been good...it should of been good...but they didn't want it to be.
“Our culture will be so much richer the day that we stop saying, ‘Hey, it’s all white dudes who are running things,'” Christian Bale said. “Whether that be Hollywood, whether that be Washington, you know. We’re going to get, in Hollywood, so much better films and so much more interesting stories being told and America will become the America that the rest of the world sees it as, that makes it unique…that we recognize makes this such a beautiful, brilliant country.”
Hey, about the Guns n Roses and ACDC. Im quite certain Chris is a huuuge rock fan and these two bands are his favorites. Not 100% certain, but quite certain :P
Hated RAGNARÖK , so looks like will have to give this a miss.
What does Korg do besides be Taika's vanity project?
