- Expendables 4 movie review. The 4th Expendables movie somehow got made for $8 and features a bunch of actors who have no right being in an Expendables movie, let alone the 4th installment. Even worse, the star of these films, Sylvester Stallone is barely even in it! Expendables 4 is terrible in every sense of the word.

I legit walked out of the movie theater after Barney “died.” I grabbed my popcorn and soda and marched out like an old women that’s how bad this movie was.

I am amazed and very disappointed they made this movie the way they made it. Movies these days are getting worse and worse. The only worthy cast members they added in my opinion are Andy Garcia, Iko Uwais and Tony Jaa but they were underutilized. So many characters from the previous installments are missing like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Antonio Banderas, Wesley Snipes, Jet Li, Mickey Rourke, Terry Crews and many more...Huge mistake adding 50Cent and Megan Fox.
This is the first time I'm thankful for spoilers, didn't know Stallone was barely even in it..
I'm disappointed in Stallone. He sanctioned the film knowing it was a piece of crap. Slap in the face to fans who made him rich.
The fact that Megan Fox is in this film says alot about the film's quality

I mentally checked out when the plane got shot down. Like I genuinely was pissed off and didn’t care what happened until they retconned it at the last second. Such a waste of a film
There's an indie comic out called "Expendables Go to Hell" they should have just made that into a movie.
Although they probably would have ended up F@%king it up somehow.

I remember purchasing a ticket from the ticket agent and accidentally saying, I like to watch The Avengers instead saying I like to watch Expendables.
The TWO action stars from "THE RAID"??? NOPE, only Iko Uwais was in "THE RAID". The other one is TONY JAA (who is from Thailand) and starred in "ONG BAK", "PARADOX" or "THE PROTECTOR"!

2 was actually peak with even more action stars
2 was not bad with more action and had nostalgic feel for action fans like myself who are fans of the 80s 90s actions films of Stallone, Schwarzenegger, Willis, Van Damme and others and see them together in 2nd was fun even though it’s not a classic movie same with the original Expendables. To see even Chuck Norris was cool and Van Damme play the main villain. 3rd wasn’t the best either but to see Mel Gibson as the main antagonist after growing up watching him in Lethal Weapon, Braveheart etc he stole the show as the bad guy and former Expendables co founder. I don’t think will watch 4th film at all and seen enough clips of it on UA-cam.

A lot of people are saying it's the worst movie to come out this year so far, so yeah it wouldn't be surprising at all.
Where the hell did all the bad guys on the ship come from? It was like a clown car. The way Christmas turned that ship around was ridiculous.
In preparation for seeing Expendables 4, I marathoned the first three on Netflix. Going directly from seeing 1,2,3 to this, the contrast is apparent. This was a huge drop in quality. A shame, because I actually am rooting for this series and want it to do well. But this was not good.
I cut my losses at the first movie when I sat thru Mickey rourke s muttered monologue. I couldn’t understand what he was saying and felt sad. I’ve seen the guy in great movies, and didn’t want to see anymore of this.
Stallone has ranged between fairly good to great story sensibilities. It’s hard to figure that he didn’t know the audience doesn’t like petty murder in its main characters.
Paul Newman kept his wits up til the end. Robert Redford still impresses. Gene Hackman and Sean connery knew when to bow out. But not many actors go the distance…

This has got to be the saddest action series. I just knew this one was going to suck. The first two are actually pretty decent but the third one was worse than a made for TV sci-fi channel movie. Just plain sad smh
They are all too old now
A part 4 is always ill-advised, even moreso when it's a legacy sequel and the previous entry trashed the franchise. I love the first two films and this makes me sad.

The whole purpose of Expendables was to unite old action stars🤔 NOT Megan Fox and Andy Garcia & 50 cent & what happened to Terry crews🤷♂️

Does anyone know why there is no marketing for EX4? I don't see any ads anywhere. Also, none of the actors in the movie promote it on their social media platforms. Are they not allowed or they don't care? It is hard to care for EX4 when the company and its actors don't promote it at all.

It's not surprising to see or hear about franchises falling from grace in one way or another, with there usually being just 1 or 2 of them that are actually good and if lucky enough maybe more than that and the all to commonly outcome of there being one or multiple entrys in a particular franchise that just don't hold up the standards of it's predecessor/predecessors and sometimes being flat out insulting to them on quite a few occasions.
In the last three years the movie business has hit hard times. Many theaters have closed and this kind of movie will not bring people back. This movie had the entertainment value of an adult diaper full of crap.

Just watched it on the internet, Glad i didnt see this in the theater, was thinking and trying to see it in theater, glad i postponed that decision. When i saw megan and the unknown new faces (except the thailand actors) in the trailer, i was like "this new expendables team looks terrible, why is megan here and who the hell are these new faces, this movie feels gonna suck". And my guess was right.

The guy from the bar (Jumbo Shrimp, who apparently was a rival mercenary which they don't even explain in the film) was alive when he left him in the plane, so Barney straight up murdered him. Then Barney and Christmas laugh about it at the end of the film. Wtf...🤣🤣 This film was the worst in the series of films by far.

I didn’t even know expendables four was even coming out… I only saw the first one, and never checked out the rest of them. Even the first one I only kind of enjoyed, I would give it a B minus.
Try watching the second film. Expendables 2 is the best one so far. Chuck Norris even makes an appearance and cracks a Chuck Norris joke.
Expendables 3 is kind of weak due to being rated PG-13 instead of being "R" rated like the others but even i think it is still better than Expendables 4.
Seen it on movie app, wasn't paying for this shit, n im so relieved. It was so bad even stallone had to dip out n leave Jason to deal wit this mess. And we supposed to buy-in to Megan leading the crew...WTF! Can't believe they put this shit out. What a fuckin waste a time. 👊🏾

Great review Adam, personally I Respect Your Opinion, I Actually Quite Enjoyed The Expendables 4, Very Underrated it doesn’t deserve the hate IMO, I didn’t hate Expendables 3 it was Ok but not a Great film, I Love Expendables 1 & 2 those are my Favorites in the franchise, I thought Expendables 4 was Way Better then Expendables 3, Great Action, Jason Statham, Stallone, Andy Garcia, Dolph Lundgren, & Randy Couture did a Great Job, 50 Cent was Fine, But My Only Issue is Megan Fox Can’t Act & didn’t need to be in the movie, still 1 of my Favorites Of 2023, Expendables 1, 2, & 4 there Some Of my Favorites Of Jason Statham & Stallone There Very Talented & Charismatic there 2 of my Favorite Action Stars Too ❤

Seeing the review provide further evidence that Expend4bles wasn't entertaining as 2 and 3 - the original isn't anything to write home about, reportedly Stallone didn't like it much.
Nearly ten years have passed since the last one and that's exactly what should have happened!.
Just watched this movie. I agree 100 percent. Expendables. Classic icon actors that we in the 70's 80's and maybe the 90's grew up watching. Thats what this movie series was supposed to be about. This new movie fkd it up for me. The oriental actors are classic. Watch their movies. They could have gotten more iconic actors to play these roles.

I just saw the whole movie. And people who are hating on this film, don't know what they are talking about. It's just as bad or good as the previous films. Maybe less of the wow factor concerning the celebs, but action wise it's fun. And this is coming from someone who is very critical of poor action films. Compared to previous films, this is better than the third.

The good thing about the movie were Tony Jaa and Iko Uwais and their respective acting performances.
And who is Megan Fox again? Even the CGI (airplane) was cheap and all put together looked like a movie that couldnot even compete with a B movie.
This is a waste of time. Even if you have high expectations ( which is almost impossible) , this is rubbish. Even the storyline (if you can call it a storyline) is very original... Not!! Why always Russia, a nuke, a plot twist you can see coming from Mars and to be honest, acting of the lowest level. And jokes that are really not landing....
The best part was the music of 50 cent, but that scene lasted 12 seconds.Oh and Dolph Lundgren his performance was ok. You know he is still pure.
Conclusion: don´t waste your time and money. Do yourself a favor and sit this one out.

Hey, now..is that 50-Cent?…. well knowing that, you’d think the producers would’ve been like, I think a better plot for Expendables 4 would be to have been all the remaining Expendables raid THE CANDY SHOP, which is like code for something. Still, the producer can figure that out later, with some blah, blah, blah, etc., etc., etc....… just make sure to make the story and movie - OUTTA CONTROL!!!
