      Yes and Yes, even now it’s great. The other day I fully loaded it up with fishing gear, crayfish pots and other gear for a whole day on the water.
      It handled the day with no problems.
      I do use a small collapsible laundry tub to handle sharps, fish, crabs and crays just in case of piercing but that’s a bit of common sense.
      Its been a very reliable little boat to date

    Ive only had 1 kayak, its a pryml one the still stock, a grey one. Its agile and fast but obviously youd have to sacrifice stability. Id rather have more stability. If I have anything stored behind the chair in it O shit myself when I reach to grab anything. This seems to fit the bill

    Hi Adam I know you have answered plenty but is it hard to paddle against wind etc compared to a more narrow inflatable kayak. I have paddled my wife’s double Kings inflatable kayak which isn’t as wide and that was okay and $200. This is a lot more expensive but much more stable and I am leaning this way. Just need to know it can be paddle quite easy. PS I am a big bloke and the better back support of the seat interests me. Many Thanks

    • @AdamKilpatrick
      @AdamKilpatrick  3 місяці тому

      Being so light it paddles quite easily, the fin underneath is vital for tracking.
      Haven’t had any problems paddling up wind.
      I also use the electric outboard which makes a very casual session fishing

    G’day Adam,
    Great video and super informative! I’ve got this on my Christmas Wishlist from the boss this year but I have a couple of questions that I wouldn’t mind your advice for please.
    I’m a biggish dude as well … currently at about 130kg and I’ve always wanted a kayak. The weight rating and stability of the this one and the fact that it’s inflatable is super convenient. However, I don’t fish (please don’t judge haha!)
    How do you think it would go as a casual/recreational kayak? I’ve heard fishing kayaks are a little slower/harder to manoeuvre in faster waters but if I ever got caught out I’d be keen on investing in a small battery powered motor.
    Cheers mate!

    • @AdamKilpatrick
      @AdamKilpatrick  10 місяців тому +2

      This kayak is definitely oversized and designed to carry a load. I take the kids out in it just for a paddle and a look around.
      The boat it’s self is super stable and with the fin on the bottom tracks through the water and turns really well to the point that it surprised me.
      Adding a motor and a battery pack is super lazy and I am all for it! Lol it makes it a super fun day. But make sure you take your paddle to help turning and as a back up.
      In general the kayak is slower but manoeuvres fine. It’s easy to set up and pack up and super stable. I also got a SUP PADDLE and can stand up and paddle around.
      Hope that helps and you get out on the water

      Still love it. It’s been solid as a rock and great fun. I did get a collapsible tub to use when bringing fish in and for using knife. But that in my mind was just the smart thing to do. • @AdamKilpatrick
      @AdamKilpatrick  Рік тому +1

      I think they haven’t sold well everywhere.
      There is a stigma about inflatables that people think low quality and cheap (AKA a piece of crap).
      The reality is that inflatables are used for yachts tenders, pack rafting and whitewater rafting if they are made from the right materials.
      So far I haven’t had any issues at all with mine. It’s solid and light in the water and can hold a load of gear. It’s easy to transport and easy to set and pack up.
      I personally have hard body Viking kayak as well and love it but the Predator fits for some locations and tips way better and I honestly haven’t had a issue with it at all and as you said it ticked all the boxes.
      I hope that helps

      I didn’t pay that price. They do specials when the are under $1000. The quality is definitely worthy of the price tag though. They are made from good materials and solid on the water. It kind of messes with my head because it is a really good boat to paddle, super stable and easy to use.
