I have a couple of these and a couple sea eagle explorers. I’ll take these all day for solo work and for river fishing. For camping with non serious fisher people, they get the explorers. I honestly think these are bulletproof. Same with the sea eagles. I actually got one small leak on both boats (sea eagles) when I lived in Texas. It turned out there was a barbed wire fence 6 inches under the water. I ended up riding over it and yanking on them with all my might. Ten years later, not one hole. They also have an 800 pound capacity. Great for transport of goods in the boundary waters in Minnesota.
I have beat the crap out of these boats (not intentionally). I feel safer in the high end inflatables than my Ocean Kayak Big Game 2. The BG2 is my choice on bigger lakes, because it doesn’t get blown around as much. Thanks for the video review.

I have a native slayer max for the big lakes but am seriously considering either the Pike or the Kuda for some river fishing.
They are both awesome! I think for the shallow rivers I find the kuda is the way to go, but the pike pro might be slightly more versatile!
I have enjoyed your review on both the kuda and pike NRS inflatables and have a question for you, what would be a good electric (may be rechargeable) air pump to have?
I will check the brand name on mine and get you the brand my buddy, Jeff Little, uses. His is batteries powered where mine has to be connected to battery by alligator clips. I use my car battery.
The one I am using is a Bravo High Pressure 12v. I connects to your vehicle battery. What I like about it is you can set the pressure and it will cut off when it get there.
I checked out the NRS site but didn’t see the nice black box you had behind the seat. Do they still carry it? Oh ya, you did a very nice review too.

Hey! Australia is a dream trip for me!! I have not had the opportunity to paddle or event see a Blackfoot in person. I would love to do a review, but it could take some time to get my hands on one and get it done. I can say the Pike is very impressive and I believe they have lowered the prize on it since I did my review.
I will try to get my hands on a Blackfoot in the future though and try it out!

I will try to measure this when I get back home! I am on a trip right now for the next week! Just estimating it is about 3feet tall by 2 feet wide and maybe 18”deep.

Would you recommend the NRS pike or the pelican and catch 110 for a fly fishing kayak?
I think it depends. The pike is great especially if you need to pack it down and store it. I have not spent much time in the other boat, but I can say I love my pike for back water trips.

Does the floor completely remove from the boat when deflated?
On the pike pro the floor does come out, however their is still a “floor” under the inflatable part you stand on. Hopefully that makes sense. It is never open underneath.

do you think there enough space in the NSR pike for two people without any gear?
That would be tight. I take my son sometimes, but I think two adults would be too tight.

While not a kayak, they are launching a small raft called the approach this year! A bit more money with a frame and comfortable seats, but it comes in small enough to slide into a truck bed. I am pumped to get my hands on it so I can get take my wife or my kids down the river with me!
I do like it but im gettting a packraft that weighs 12 lbs. I can put it in my backpack and take it in places where this thing wouldnt be able to access. This thing is too heavy to take with you. Its only from car to water and the water better be close by like a boat ramp. I have a older ascend fst12 for when i need to kayak and a jon boat when i want to take people so a packraft fits a niche that those other two cannot fill, but if yont own a kayak or a job boat i would get this because you dont need a roof rack or a trailer this thing is cool.

Would depend on the person. I would have no issue taking one of my kids who are 5 and 7, but I think two adults would be hard.
If you are looking for another great fishing kayak that is super high quality and that you can take a 2nd person with occasionally, look into the AquaGlide Blackfoot 130, I purchased a 2nd seat for mine for when my daughter is with me for when the water is too cold for her to safety be in her own kayak, and also for using it as a tandem for Whitewater kayaking, I haven't used the Blackfoot in Whitewater yet, but plan to now that the waters have warmed up enough to not get hypothermia, as I do not have a drysuit yet. AquaGlide also makes a Blackfoot 160 that is a true true tandem fishing kayak, however I don't believe it's something you'd want to use solo as it's 16' long. The 130 has a 600lb weight capacity, so it can definitely handle the extra weight:) Based on the overall design of the NRS I do not believe it would be comfortable, not do I believe it had the weight capacity for an extra adult size person, whereas the Blackfoot 130 is designed for such a thing:) And no I'm not trying to sell the Blackfoot on a NRS video, just trying to be helpful and educational in answering your question and giving you a very good option to look into:)
Lastly, the best price on the Blackfoot is going to be through AirKayaks.com, or, if you have a Dicks Sporting goods near you you can buy it there and Dicks will price match Airkayaks price, I got my Blackfoot for $999 plus tax, instead of $1350 plus tax. The Blackfoot does NOT come with a pump though, just an Fyi. I use an electric pump, and have a manual pump as well. If you have any questions feel free to ask, as again I'm just trying to be helpful:)

@@bobrich1950 No problem:) That stinks that they are out of stock, I wonder if Dicks would still honor their stock price? Yeah, without the discount the 130 is a bit more pricier, it would sure be nice to have a few of these kayaks side by side so you could try them all before you buy one. I can attest to the quality and customer service of AG, as well as to the BF based on my experience. No, unfortunately I have not had experience with the Sea Eagle Fast track, however my first paddle craft was a Sea Eagle SE 370, and for what it is(obviously a different category than the High High end inflatables) I've had no problems(besides 2 pinholes from direct fish fins) and it has lasted like 9-10 years with no problems. I commented on another comment about the 5 reasons for why I went with the Blackfoot over the Sea Eagle 350FX, however either UA-cam, the YT channel, or a glitch deleted my comment as it is completely gone. A couple things to consider about the Sea Eagle is, 1st the seating as the swivel seat is great but less portable and does not have a low position if needed, also if using tandem you would either need 2 swivel seats or the lower sit inside seats(not for me) , 2nd is the black reenforced side tubes WILL be hot when it's hot, 3rd is the lack of practical rod and accessory mounting options on the Sea Eagle, and that's about it. I do believe Sea Eagle is a great company and that they make good quality stuff(the run their yaks over with a Jeep to prove they are tough, I'm not sure I'd do that with the AG) however those things I point out, as well as the fact that I got the AG at a discount, is when I chose the AG over the Sea Eagle 350fx, and the only reason my debate was between the FX and the AG instead of the Fast track is because of the better whitewater abilities of the AG and FX compared to the Fast Track.
@@DenKwonDo Gotcha. Yea, it would really be helpful to be able to see them before buying. I know what you mean about rigging on the Sea Eagle. That's been keeping me on the edge with my decision. Was actually going to get two of the NRS Pike seats if i went with the Sea Eagle. I spoke to Sea Eagle this week, and supposedly you can attach Scotty mounts to the tubes on the Fasttrack. I do like the Aquaglide and may still go that route. As it seems to be set up initially a bit better. They've left me slightly miffed with the fact that they don't include some kind of a pump though. I mean it's an INFLATABLE ! Ya know??!!
How much standing water stays in it
Not much at all. I have never really noticed it being significant. It gets wet but that has never bothered me.
why wouldn't you recommend using inflatable kayaks on open water?
Hey! So when I am talking open water I mean being offshore in a big lake or the ocean. Miles from the shore. I sometimes go past the breakers 3-4 miles out to fish for snapper and troll for king mackerel etc. This is where I don’t think it would be ideal because of something did happen it would be really hard to repair and make it in safely. They are super durable, but I personally would want to be in a regular kayak in that situation. It would be super rare that anything would happen and I fish out of my inflatables a lot, but better safe than sorry in a big water situation. Hope that helps.
