Hello Lobby Robby! Since patterns in 32nd notes are still mostly grouped in a multiple of 2 (8 per beats in the case of 32nd notes in 4/4) , they are very similar to learn than 16th notes (4 per beats in 4/4). Triplets (3 or 6 per beats depending if they're 8th-note-triplets or 16th-note-triplets) however have a very different vocabulary.
@pacoside1092 I have a decent concept of 32nd notes. I'm just trying to figure out how I'm going to count them or just play off feel. I was trying to use double strokes and not count the 2nd stroke but I quickly realized my doubles suck haha. I have no speed. So now I'm trying single strokes and not count my left hand if that makes sense. With enough practice I'm sure it'll becomes way easier to know where you are in the beat/measure.
Absolute gold of a concept! Would love to learn some of those sixteenth note triplet and 32nd note patterns that you were playing. I realize my vocab for those two sub-divisions is pretty limited
RLLK and RLRLLK are great ones to start. The left hand usually goes on the snare whilst the right goes around the kit, but once you get used to that, you can move the left hand around too!
I've been putting off learning triplets for a while now. I gotta start practicing them. First I need to figure out 32nd notes tho.
Triplets feel soooo good to play. I'd start with triplets before getting to 32nd notes
