Twin Compressor is definitely the way to go, and an added tank for air supply. Fits beautifully in the wheel well of the Jeep and lines are run to front and rear to convenience. Also, with it being mounted in the wheel well, it is quieter when running, great system.
ARB offer many other accessories such as air tank and air chucks etc - where can we find ARB installation video guides for onboard air systems like the ones that viaair do ?
We don't have any compressor installation videos at this time. Here is a link to a recent blog post we did that may answer some of your questions. arbusa.com/arb-compressor-installation-tips/
What I have never seen yet is a video with ARB compressor filter instaled in more water protected zone, as in the air filter box, or with a hose passing through the fire wall and the filter inside the cab.
I have the twin And will be using it to fill up my tires, will I need to buy the manifold? I was told no by four wheel parts but by this video it seems like I need to buy the manifold.
Yes, you will need the manifold. The compressor can put out a lot of heat right off the compressor which can damage the air hose if connected directly too it. The manifold uses braided stainless hose that comes off the compressor so it can handle the heat.
I bought the twin compressor FOUR MONTHS ago and one side already stopped working. Customer support just told me to check a relay and let them "know how it goes". I had a shop install in on the firewall behind the drivers fender. I'm no mechanic, so now I have to pay a shop to diagnose the problem and maybe get warranty parts? Beware, don't mount this compressor in a difficult place because it will fail.
I am looking to install a front and rear ARB locker in my Tundra. Two questions...will the medium ARB compressor work for both and if I add Firestone air bags in the rear can it also run that? Not sure how many outputs are possible. Trying to avoid multiple air compressors.
The compressor will handle all three without a problem. Most air bag systems use low pressure, high volume. So all you will need to run is a line from the compressor to a regulated manifold or solenoid switch for the bags.
I’ve had the ARB dual air compressor in my 2018 4Runner for the past 18 mo or so and love it. Works great for airing up anytime and anywhere. I’ve just purchased the ARB Diff Breather Kit for my rear diff, but mounting space is getting prettty scarce. Can the diff breather mount on the compressor housing? Looks like there may be a spot going into the black plate on the front of the housing (taking care not to touch either compressor with the screws). Is there a reason NOT to take this approach?
@@ARB4x4USA No worries, I decided to do the mod and it works great. It would be a nice feature on a future version of the twin air compressor to include two mounting holes for optional rear diff breather manifold mounting. Could be an additional selling feature...
We dont actually have a set number of hours for our compressors because in the applications they were intended for, they are are on and off for short bursts. The longest they will run would be around 2-3 min per tire. That being said, we have all the parts and a full-time tech staff if you ever need to rebuild.
the middle center tube is only prt that is normal tank u rap the lose around to wind it up on. If 200ft is not enough care 2 hose-tanks 200ft * 2= plenty of air. Tiny spot up near intake on air breather & u hve extra air at elev feed of your simple hose-tank ARB system. So u never waste that air from tires goes into combustion pump or back into tires or mechanic turning nuts or construction tools.
If u can make a twin then 2 twins is twice as fast & 1/2 the noisy & 1 compressor per 200ft hose-tank each, & if both r hook up into breather near intake I think it would help almost as much as hving a blower/super charger. 1 power-ed off battery & that is double 12 volt & 1 start of alternator the back up if driving vs just sitting. All 4 need is way for both 200ft tank rolls to connect up & share air. AC or battery, sitting or driving capturing air down air from multi jeeps & no waste burning it extra air or air-ing back up. The rolls can come out & b carried portable, & 1 tank to remove shop & 1 tank to stay hard mounted in jeep. Should b enough to get-er-done on the cheap vs super charger, & u need 1/2 the system any way. No drag load on engine pure boost u can regulate pressure added.
My third ARB compressor on the same Jeep is now the small one which seems to be the best design of the expired two, although it hasn't been field tested yet due to the ARB seal housing leaking in the rear Dana 44. The on/off connector required fabrication to match the previous ARB harness. I estimate less than 10 hours of engaged locker use over the past 14 years of wheeling; costs about what a good attorney would charge. 'nough said.
For Me God construction deal vs mechanical deal. Nail guns & such, if hose is tank u can hve smaller 2 stage compressor & no waste/loss. U charge it up b4 u work like batteries, that way less load on compressor. Further damn compressor is from work less noisy esp ppl that video.
While compressors may have been the thing to have 10 years ago, go with a CO2 tank and you'll never go back. The only question you'll have is what did you wait so long to get one!!
asking stupid ? u know how modern rims 4 by 4 style hve easy deflate valve/side & inflate valve. Tanks r nice for storing air but bulky. Why can't u make a tank like roll(sturdy line want compress close if rolled on itself)got idea watching endless machine shop video hypnotically long impress detailed mutli prt work). The basic . Only u r not going to use a bulky air tank to capture the but instead a sturdy roll of hose v/long & rolled up as your tank.
The beauty of this system is no waste, u needed long hose to reach when working or filling a buddies tires 50ft away any way & u need the air & u can just hook the compressor to the tank/hose to drive it & yeah what ever amount of hose length tank u want 100ft or 200ft still super small light wt. Co2 w/this system & crazy simple set up, but I like the compressor for tools & locks or air bags & lower cost long term.
Hands up how many CKMA12 owners have had the cap screw shear on the piston rod axle..... Oh, and to state the CKMTA12 twin is the biggest 12volt air compressor that can be made ? What about the GAST 3HBB-19. Don't let facts get in the way of a good sales pitch.
I bought my first ARB 30 years ago.Still working fine. Big for modern standards but very strong and reliable.

Great point!
Would the small version for air lockers handle low volume air bags up to 100 psi?
Would of been good to see Air Compressor accessories introduced in this video
Gear Crushers: Agreed. Often it's the included "extras" that finalizes a purchasing decision.
I am an off-road enthusiast and really wish i had ARB accessories, problem is, I haven’t found a way to ship them to my country, Tanzania.
Please contact our headquarter, they handle Africa. Here is the contact page - www.arb.com.au/contact/get-in-touch/

What size wire/ring lugs do I need for the positive and ground on the ARB Twin? You would;d think for $600 ARB could provide the correct wire lugs?

How do they hold up in the winter

Different uses for each type of compressor so check with your local retailer on what is best for your vehicle.
I be saving up for the twin compressor. Lol oh yeah!
what is an air locker i want to pump up car tyers and caravan tyers
Hi Wendy you are taking about an air compressor. Here is more info on our website. arbusa.com/air-compressors/
i got one for pumping up my tyres and it didn't come with instructions
Email our tech department at tech@arbusa.com and they can send you the install instructions via email.
Disappointed with my ckma12. Only few years old and not that many cycles and dead and ARB not willing to look at it as out of warranty.
