The LT160s are great machines, built much better than the box store models. Too bad you're not closer, I have a scrap LX255 with a Kohler that would fit right on yours. Those hoods are impossible to find in good condition, yours is immaculate!
It has a couple cracks but yeah, hood is excellent. Yeah buddy, who knows maybe NC may be my new home someday.

LT160's were made from 02-05'. Judging by the engine date code its more than likely a 2005. Clean machine.

Henry, buddy, for the love of God, please wear leather gloves when you’re handling a winch cable! I was a vehicle recovery specialist in the military and that’s one of the first things that you’re taught when handling winch cables. Another one is don’t straddle the cable. Be safe!
Thanks Jeff, the cable needs to be slightly guided so it winds in the spool evenly, it new so no frayed cable, it’s smooth. Also I’d never grab it hard enough for any abrasive movements while it’s coiling. But yeah, I know what you mean. Thanks bro

Your LT160's serial number indicates it was built in 2005 which was the last year they made that model.

The letter D in the model number suggests that it's a 2004, D being the 4th letter in the alphabet.
Actually I believe it’s a 2005 because the engine sticker states that.

I had a customer once, he had a JD L104, I went out to service it, and the guy had the key up at the house, 1 mile away, so he had to walk to get it, he forgot to grab it on his way down, and he walked slow, old man slow, so while he was gone, I proceeded to do the service, I got done b4 he got back, and I had it running, to heat up the oil, when he got back, he thought I hot wired it, he was told it can only be started with the key he had, I explained nope, any key this shape will start it, he was pissed.
That Mr. Mark is a very smart man....

I got 3 JDs 2 X304s with the all wheel steering like rodimus prime, and a L104, 17.5hp briggs, runs, and the 2 X304 both have 19hp kawasaki v twin. One has 1700hrs, the other has 250hrs.....but 1700 hrs yikes but all work and run perfect, and the best part, got em all freeeeeee.... Oh, and I got a huge cubby with drive shaft, this is a beast.... Also got 3 drive mowers, sold em all already... LMAO.... Not for your prices, but good prices.
